  1. We had Lambert last year, Kurt's this year, who will be next year's flash in the pan runner up to Zmarzlik
  2. While Monster sponsor (control) over 25% of the riders is any of this anything but a farce
  3. As said by others on this thread, the decline started earlier, but without a doubt, Matt Ford caused the sport more problems than the contributors on this forum care to admit
  4. The flashing light is due to a rider, I believe it was Swindon, running into a tractor on the parade lap.
  5. I have posted similar on this forum before, only to be shot down by those 'in the know' that. Throttles never stick, cut outs always work, it's no risk. Despite the rule book stating the lanyard must be attached whilst the motor is running. It is, after all only a rule
  6. Speedway in the media never recovered from the Sunday People's proven race fixing articles, most people saw speedway as a circus act, the fixing of results just reinforced their view.
  7. Sadly the thousands that attended in 1977, but no longer do, disagree.
  8. Has the feel of one of those 70s end of season challenge meeting, all we need is the promotor being flour bagged
  9. Sad news, met him several times on my travels in Europe, he will be missed. R.I.P Tony
  10. With the support levels the "professional" leagues get, amateur racing looks the only way British speedway can run. The fans will just have to accept it or walk away
  11. What a complete mess of a meeting, promoting club losing money, 2nd and third better than a win, whatever happened to speedway. What attracted me to the sport was winner takes all, first past the flag wins, sad day for the sport as it dies a little bit more
  12. There was an item on YouTube with interviews, but not much of the racing sadly
