  1. Thanks guys - doesn't look too good but may catch some track action elsewhere if we do some touring Cheers Andy
  2. I'm lucky enough to be visiting Australia in late January/Early February and will be in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area between 23 January and 6 February and was wondering if there is any track action in this area around that time. i don't get the Star so i don't have that as a guide. Any help either way would be appreciated. Cheers in advance Andy
  3. Living where I do, to visit any track would be a pleasure - the one chance i had in 2008 was rained off! Seriously, the track I wished I'd visited and didn't since seeing my first meeting (1980) was Leicester, supposedly an excellent racetrack but sadly the same reacnight as Crayford so never got there.
  4. My first Speedway match was Crayford v Young Sweden in April 1980 but it was my first away match, the 4TT @ Peterborough that year that got me hooked. It was the first (and last!) time that Crayford won anything nationally but like a misty eyed fool, I thought they really were that good all the time! It started a 10 year love affair that was only extinguished by the first Mrs D but seeing the recent GP's on the satalight has re-awoken my interest. My 3Y old son has started to show a little interest too so hopefully he's picked up something from the old man - pity the nearest track is 4 hours by air away!
  5. JC - I've been away from the sport for a few years and was unaware Michael Warren had died - he must have only been in his 30's - what happened?
  6. Tony Reynolds played football for Welling United during their spell in the Vauxhall Conference circa 1988 - 1992. Tony played as a left winger and he could best be described as an enigmatic player. His ability to switch from excellent to appauling from minute to minute rather unfairly made him the team scapegoat. Tony went on to manage the club earlier this decade for a couple of years but what became of him after then I don't know. I do remember though at the time it was common for programmes to try and sum up players in a single sentance (ex-Leyton Orient apprentice, England Schoolboy Trialist etc) and Tony was always labelled as an ex Speedway Rider.
