SGP 2004 Calendar Announced
britneyspears replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Id go for Stockholm for sure Ozyace, it is expensive for alcohol but stockholm is a beautiful cosmopolitan city, the transport system is excellent as is the restaurants etc and the swedes are all welcoming. Slovenia is pretty, but its very isolated and there is no transport system. I thought the atmosphere at the GP was better in stockholm too ;-) -

britneyspears replied to London Witch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly, what we have is a laid track and thats it so lets just hope that its right, am wondering to myself if a world champ should be able to put on a show on anything :? not sure on that one really, lets just hope for a good clean fight on the night the best man will win whoever that is -

Jason or Nicki?
britneyspears replied to London Witch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Jason Crump Nothing against Nicki really, he seemed quite honest in the interviews saying its too early for him and he would have been happy with top 5 etc. My money went on Crumpy at the beginning of the season and im sticking with that, all the bad luck he's had and i dont think ive seen a rider more passionate about winning, this year i hope its his year. What does concern me a little is with Hamar being a laid track and Mr Olsen with the final say on how that track is laid, what do people think then of said track being laid to suit Mr Pedersen  -
Is there anyone stateside who can provide us with some info on this meeting, what are the current standings, line up, etc. Results after the event would be nice too please ;-)

Bydgoszcz G.P. - Predictions
britneyspears replied to Ozyace's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
ive backed crumpy each way for this one, says in todays star hes been receiving intensive physiotherapy all this week along with rest so he should be fine for the weekend. -
I'd certainly be impressed if they managed to hold a gp at the stade de france, i remember hearing there was some interest in Monaco a couple of years ago too, we had Prince Albert as a guest at Cardiff didnt we :?: On a purely selfish note i'd love to see a Gp on California, I did go to LA '82 but i was obviously a small child at the time ;-) but i can remember the buzz in the stadium

I hope so some day 21ch, I lay my hat at coventry these days with the other 'beeathens' but a little part of my heart will always reside down dudley wood road , i was practically bought up at the place I am proud to say. My father first became 'involved' with cradley in 1977 by helping out Anders Mitchanek though he had been visiting the Heathens and the bees for some years before this, a year later he was introduced to a young american by the name of Penhall by Dan McCormack and the same favour was asked, this lead to him discovering his life work in speedway and our family business was born some years later. I look back on my memories of dudley wood with great fondness, from the golden hammer right through to the donkey derby ;-)

so Middlo does have some influence!!!! So im lead to beleive steve although i think Mr Ford probably had a fair bit to do with it Just returned from my mini break in Bournemouth where an enjoyable time was had by all, the meeting didnt go quite to plan for me and my friend Madge with me there supporting gb and cov and her being a wolves fan (strange combination i know) heat 3 left rather a downer on the rest of the afternoon for her and we would like to wish Lukas and PK a speedy recovery and out best wishes. Im fairly pleased with the performances by billy j and steady (no thanks to the referee with what was an awful decision) in their first real attempt at GP qualification. Am now off to consider who i would like kidnapping for my own private use in the future
-
there are a few that trigger memories from over the years, wipeout that used to be played at Cradley Heath after a 5-1 much to the displeasure of away team fans, simply the best gives me visions of Sam Ermolenko sat on top of a tractor draped in american flags after wolves won the league, we are the champions was played after most of the old one day world finals but to me it willl always mean erik gundersen at bradford. And of course were gonna win by bryan adams for mark loram when we all knew he could do it
-
My sentiments exactly mate
-
Im quite looking forward to this one, I went to the challenge (as it was more appropriately called back then) in slovenia and the atmosphere was electric. Am hoping Steady and Billy J do well. Wont be worrying about the price of programmes though, Poole sell Jack Daniels at half price so ill probably be in no fit state (hopefully)

Come on Team GB
britneyspears replied to beesboybert's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
yep echo the above, best of luck to the boys and middlo, i see no reason why we cant make it to the final this year, i will be keeping everyting crossed tonight in anticipation of a successfull meeting for us -
book your tickets for the gp in advance, it is a very popular gp for the polish contingent and they will descend on prague en masse on the saturday afternoon, we arrived half an hour before tapes up and there were several of them that couldnt get in due to it being sold out. the seats are the most comfortable option, they e-mailed me an application form which was completed and faxed back to them for the credit card signature, this also had a list of hotels on it that they would book for you. We used this service about 4 to 5 weeks before the GP and got in no problems. We stayed at the diplomat hotel which was also one of the official hotels, another choice is the pyramida (not sure spelling ) the best course of action is to contact the track think its autoclub marketa and get your form in asap. Hope this helps, we had a great time in prague 60p a pint, nice and sunny and a good gp, what more can a girl want

well done the boys and Middlo, we nearly had 'em , cant wait for play offs now should have my voice back by then, great performance by all the team, especially pleased for deano and flop as echoed above, was it me or did flop look choked up in the interview with jonathon g after beating sully, thats the passion we want. -
Event 2 tonight - Come on Team GB.
britneyspears replied to MAD 3:16's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Id like to repeat that good luck to the team GB boys tonight, think we may be race off bound, hopefully we will reach the final and give us all something to shout at the tv about -
May 1975 at Cradley Heath at the grand old age of 6 months, cant bear to look at the place now, just a field with a circular dip in the middle where our beloved track used to be no idea who the opposition were :? Can remember playing on the terraces at CH and insisting on being picked up when Bruce Penhall rode, had good taste from an early age Can remember Wembley 81 quite clearly and the La colliseium the following year as my first clear memories of the actual racing.
-
Yes I remember that well even though I was a small child at the time, Bruce's van needed a police escort out of the stadium due to the disappointed fans rocking it and throwing things at it, the language was pretty colourful too, Bruce however wasn't even in the van, I remember this part of the evening so clearly because little old me was in the van and terrified
-
As i was weaned slowly onto speedway at Cradley Heath from a very young age id have to say Bruce Penhall or Erik Gundersen for me Happy memories
-
Neil Evitts is still involved in speedway he's an engine tuner

Who will win in Slovenia?
britneyspears replied to Triple.H.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Have you been before Triple.H, we went over to the GP challenge a couple of years ago, beautiful country, no transport system whatsoever, the local taxi firm consists of one bloke in his car with a mobile, so make sure you have your to and from sorted out before you go or a hire car arranged. Think i fancy Trick or Crumpy for this one, Mr Pedersen could be another one to watch.
