  1. The KanDysoft 'Heat by Heat' version is now available. Click on the link below and scroll down the page to the Prague button. http://www.kandysoft.com/speedway_files.htm ATB Dave
  2. Can't see where I suggested anything like that! Just that a heat 20 with the 'top four' riders in would be a mouthwatering end to a 20 heat meeting, and could potentially lead to three explosive heats if the meeting format had a Semi Final and Final! ATB Dave
  3. One of the 'problems' last night was the fact that Richardson, Harris, Stead and Bridger met in heat one. With all respect to the riders on show, Heat 20 was almost a foregone conclusion as a win for Bridger. I have long advocated for Individual meetings that the promoters seed the 'expected' top four riders to No's 4, 5, 11 & 14. (They would still 'ballot' those 4 riders for those positions) I know it doesn't always work out that way, but the majority of times it would produce an interesting Finale. ATB Dave
  4. The Free KanDysoft 'Heat By Heat' style Race Card is available from:- http://www.kandysoft.com/speedway_files.htm Scroll down the page and click on the the Gothenburg button. ATB Dave

  13. If you don't agree with it, the answer is simple.......... Don't go! I'm sure that, along with Jason Crump, who has now been confirmed as taking part, there will be plenty of people at Brandon on August 23rd who disagree with you. ATB Dave
  14. ...says piratecnic with his Danish avatar! ATB Dave

  20. Sandie's post confirmed in today's Press Release:- TELFORD Ice Speedway chiefs have reluctantly pulled the plug on their plans for February’s big event. And that spells the end of 23 consecutive shows at the Telford Ice Rink… but both Graham Drury and Ian Thomas have vowed to return for the 25th anniversary in 2010. A massive upgrade of plant machinery within the venue threw the event into doubt – and Drury has revealed how there is no 100% guarantee the rink will be available for the roar of the bikes in February. He said: “We have a wonderful relationship with the management at Telford Ice Rink and they have told us it’s only 80% likely the upgrade work will be completed. “If we were to press ahead with the Speedway it would be a big gamble. Over the years we have developed a great reputation for entertainment and there is no way we would jeapordise that. “So it is with great reluctance that Telford 2009 will not be going ahead, but it must be emphasised that we will be back in February 2010 for our 25th anniversary meetings. That will be some occasion. “I felt a statement was necessary because a lot of fans plan their weekend around Telford and many stay overnight in hotels throughout the area. I apologise to all those who are disappointed and look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2010.” ATB Dave
  21. According to the latest FIM release, Maciej Janowski replaces Gomolski at No. 18 ATB Dave
  22. On-Line pdf of GP Rules: http://www.fim.ch/EN/rules/Sportifs/ccpGP/2008/077_en.pdf Snipped from Rule 077.9.2 The Referee is the only person authorised to take decisions in case of any doubt regarding a rider’s placing if disqualified, injured, etc. during a the Big Final. These decisions must be communicated to the person in charge of the Official Results. ATB Dave
  23. The rule regarding Dead Heats has been amended. Points are now shared between the riders. (i.e. two riders dead heat for first 2.5 points each etc.) Could make the who-beat-who tie break revert to a coin toss / ballot / lucky dip if the two (or more) riders then tied on points prior to the semi's. ATB Dave
  24. Correct f-s-p As shown in my post in :- http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...0entry1052608 ATB Dave
  25. The occasion of a tie in the overall standings IS covered in the FIM rules which can be accessed on-line from:- http://www.fim.ch/EN/rules/Sportifs/ccpGP/2007/077_en.pdf ----------------------------------------------------- The Final Overall Grand Prix Classification In case of riders involved in a tie on the Final Overall Grand Prix Classification, at the end of the Grand Prix Series, the following will apply : 1. Run-off for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 2. Run-off for 8th place, which is the last qualifying place for the following year's Grand Prix Series. 3. For all other placings, the lowest riding number jacket will be considered the better-placed rider. ------------------------------------------------------ Although it does not state a 'Gate' choice method I feel the ballot is/was the fairest way. ATB Dave
