  1. More like the other way round! The actual template we now use can cope with any number & combination of matches. ATB Dave
  2. 28 for Elite League (even though there are 36 League Matches) 24 for PL (Includes League Cup this year) ATB Dave
  3. I wonder if Emil is going to take part in GP Qualifiers for 2015? The way he has withdrawn from this season's series is hardly likely to guarantee him a Wild Card place whenever his advisers say that it is OK for him to return to the GP's. ATB Dave
  4. So Mr Holder and the like get their way with fewer meetings in Britain, so that they have more time for lucrative European meetings? What about the other riders, with no European meetings? How are they supposed make a living? ATB Dave
  5. The link from DutchGrasstrack seems to still be showing the practice. I found the live stream (below.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tQb8fIvJl8 ATB Dave
  6. Maximum of 3 digits. 1 - 15 Reserved by the FIM. Nicki Pedersen is ranked 5, so he can have 5 or a number of his own choice, up to 3 digits. 666? ATB Dave
  7. As others have said, a character and a Gentleman. I can vividly recall the first words he ever spoke to me on the centre green at Bradford. (My first opportunity to photograph from the inside of a track, thanks to my association with the Speedway Mail.) I wandered up to the first turn and positioned myself in what I thought was the perfect place, until a voice behind me shouted.... "OY MATE! GET OUTTA MY F*****G SHOT!" Despite that embarrassing (for me) first meeting Alf would always have time for a chat whenever our paths crossed. RIP Alf.
  8. http://www.monsterenergy.com/gb/en/sports/speedway/#!/pages%3Acontact As you have suggested, I have contacted Monster via the above 'Contact Us' link to congratulate them regarding the meeting and also the video quality. ATB Dave
  9. BBC Coventry & Warwickshire host their annual Speedway Forum tonight at 6:00 pm. Panel includes Mick Horton, Blayne Scroggins, Laurence Rogers and Adam Roynon. There will also be contributions from Chris Harris and Kenneth Hansen. Listen Live via Internet. ATB Dave
  10. http://www.sportowef...ydarzenie/16140 Try this R&R. Now you owe ME a Beer! ATB Dave
  11. Coventry: (5) Ole Olsen, Hans Nielsen, Billy Hamill, Greg Hancock and Ronnie Moore. ATB Dave
  12. Thanks again f-s-p. I tried to PM you but it said you were unable to take any more messages. One more thing.... Can you tell me the Reserve Riders (21&22) for the first three rounds. I have searched the FIM site, but it doesn't list reserves if they didn't get a ride. Thanks, ATB Dave
  13. Thanks for your help guys. All sorted now. ATB Dave
  14. I have found the heat results for the Rzeszow Longtrack meeting on Sportowefakty but I am unable to finish updating my Series Spreadsheet until I find out the Gates chosen for the semi-finals and Final. Does anyone have any idea where I could find these? Also, can anyone help with the meanings of the non-finishing codes as posted on Sportowefakty? (w), (d5), (w/u), (d3), (u4) and (t) I presume the numbers indicate which lap an incident occurred? Thanks in advance for any help anyone is able to give. ATB Dave
  15. The two KanDysoft versions are now available from: http://www.kandysoft.com/Downloads.htm Just one click needed on the 'Traditional' or 'Combi' button to download your preferred version. ATB Dave
  16. Really? KO Cup have NEVER featured in the averages of any of the British Leagues. Only League matches count in all three Leagues this year! ATB Dave
  17. A frustrating start to the meeting with so many re-starts but the race between Jacobs and Boxall in heat 15 was really 'top drawer' stuff and I doubt you would see a better duel at any other level of the sport. Well done boys! ATB Dave
  18. The two KanDysoft versions are now available from: http://www.kandysoft.com/Downloads.htm Just one click needed on the 'Traditional' or 'Combi' button to download your preferred version. ATB Dave
  19. The two KanDysoft versions are now also available from the Downloads page. http://www.kandysoft.com/Downloads.htm Just one click on the button of your choice takes you straight to the download of your favourite version. ATB Dave
  20. Colin has asked me to correct the above. He was there purely to pass on a parcel to Mark Lemon, and was not there in any other capacity whatsoever. ATB Dave
  21. After millions of requests, (well two actually) KanDysoft are once again providing the TRULY innovative (once described as 'laughably innovative') Combination GP Scorecard as well as the Traditional layout. Both can easily be found on the KanDysoft Downloads page. http://www.kandysoft.com/Downloads.htm. ATB Dave
  22. Neil Webster(?) took over from Alex. Sadly, Neil passed away shortly after the Speedway Mail ceased publication. ATB Dave
  23. Ahhh..Happy Days as the Coventry correspondent for 'The Mail'. I got 'volunteered' for the job by my mother who had complained to Tony Mac about the lack of Coventry coverage. I think a lot of us preferred the Mail to the Star as it seemed to have a stronger editorial package, particularly when Alex Alexander took over. So much that it was banned from sale for a while at a couple of tracks. Working for The Mail gave me the chance at photography from the centre green. My first opportunity coming at the World Cup Final at Bradford, marred by the horrific crash which resulted in the injuries that sadly ended Erik Gundersen's career. There I had my first lessons in positioning myself for Speedway photography from none other than Alf Weedon. I will always remember his very first words to me.... "Oy mate! Get outa my f***ing shot!" It was only after seeing the blurred print-outs of my efforts that I realised how good the photographers were in those days! I can recall my pride in seeing my name in print for the first time in The Mail as a 'by-line' and also my first ever face-to-face rider interview, with Gary Guglielmi. Along with that, I fondly remember interviews that I did with Nigel Boocock, Charles Ochiltree, Ole Olsen and Hans Nielsen, who I visited in his British home. Hans and Suzanne were so welcoming and I was shown around Hans' Trophy Room. That one room seemed bigger than my house! Rick Miller and John Jorgensen were always happy to give up their time for interviews too. Ahhh...Happy days indeed.
