I spoke to St. John of Buildbase at the Track Shop a couple of weeks before Christmas. I asked him about the 'new' stadium plans and although he did not go into specifics, his reply of "Keep The Faith" is enough to keep me optimistic about the post-2016 future of Coventry Speedway. ATB Dave

Extract from a recent Coventry Telegraph report regarding CCFC and a new stadium:- Coventry City FC chairman Tim Fisher said he could not comment on the progress of the stadium plans in order to avoid “prejudicing” negotiations. Coun Stokes added the council had spoken with Coventry Speedway bosses about finding an alternative location for a stadium, with their existing Brandon home set to be converted into housing. However, he said that was a very different prospect to finding space for a new home for the Sky Blues. He said: “A major stadium that might attract 30,000 people some day is going to be more difficult than a stadium that will attract a couple of thousand for speedway.” Full text here:- http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/no-new-coventry-city-fc-10595559 ATB Dave

I disagree, if the link had been put where you suggest, I for one would not have seen them as the History section is a place I rarely visit. I'm sure it will receive a wider audience here. It could always be moved there later. ATB Dave

El Averages Weighted To Take Into Account Riding Position
Gambo replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why not just declare that those who started 2015 as Heatleaders to be Heatleaders for 2016? Not much difference to SCB's weighted list. ATB Dave -

Belousov (#22) has been confirmed as the replacement for Kildemand.

Easy with hindsight, but heat 10 might never have started if 4 tape breakings had taken place? Coventry usually have two sets of tapes set up on the gate. Harris breaks tapes..Excluded and replaced by Garrity. Rain continues to fall as the two minutes passes. (Second set of tapes is used) Kylmakorpi breaks the second set of tapes and is replaced by Sarjeant. Still raining as a further two minutes passes, plus extra time whilst new tapes have to be put in place. Garrity breaks tapes. Raining whilst tapes now have to be repaired again. Sarjeant breaks tapes. Definitely too wet to continue now!

We can now! As Ove FundinFan said, it was 5 third places. ATB Dave

Most meetings??? Garrity has fallen in 4 meetings out of 14 for Coventry this year, and one of those was when he received a very dubious exclusion in the match at Poole. Most Meetings?? ATB Dave

By my reckoning, removing the points scored H & A v Leicester (20th & 23rd August) would leave Darcy on 9.10. I'm sure SCB will confirm or correct (If he hasn't already done so somewhere previously on this topic). ATB Dave

Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
Gambo replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hans could not refuse to ride in Denmark, he would have been banned from riding (in England) by the DMU. If the Danish meeting had been called off 20 minutes earlier, he would have flown over to England to race at Leicester. Mikkel Michelsen was missing from the Leicester team for the same reason. Strange though that Bjarne didn't have to compete in the 1/4 Finals. ATB Dave -
The Regulations have been amended to redress this point. Riders in Play Off teams cannot guest for other teams in the Play-Off's. ATB Dave

The Mighty Bees Vs Belle Vue 24/04/15
Gambo replied to Game On's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But, for the first two laps, Belle Vue were going to get nothing out of the meeting until the ever-trying Joonas messed up on the third turn trying hard to catch Zagar. Credit to Joonas for not just settling for second place. ATB Dave -
It may say 'Monster' on the outside, but who knows if that's what is in the can/bottle/cup the rider is drinking out of? ATB Dave

There has been a change to the Rolling Average criteria for 2015. As of May 1st Issue, only 2014 and 2015 matches will count in the Rolling Averages (to a maximum of 20 matches). Therefore, riders who had 2013 matches in their current RA will have them discounted. This may mean that some riders will only have 2015 matches in their RA, and will therefore not have their current average updated until they have achieved the 4H & 4A benchmark. Elite League Riders concerned include Stuart Robson & K Gomolski. PL Riders include:- BERWICK: Edberg GLASGOW: Smith IPSWICH: Nielsen NEWCASTLE: Rosen, Henry PETERBOROUGH: Palm Toft PLYMOUTH: Fisher, Morris RYE HOUSE: Aspegren, Mellgren SCUNTHORPE: Davies SHEFFIELD: Compton This is not a definitive list, there may be others that I have missed.
