Speedway Referee Numbers In Decline
Gambo replied to Dickie Head's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Eleven applicants for Referee training being interviewed this week by Neil Vatcher. -
A couple of my observations from a very enjoyable night at a packed NSSC Question Time. Neil Vatcher confirmed that one of his main tasks this winter is to weed out the rules that conflict with others. 11 applicants for trainee referee positions to be interviewed next week. No TR's in ANY aggregate matches, Premiership or Championship. Brando questioned the sports attitude to Sponsors.......should be recognised as Corporate Partners as in most other sports and have their profile made more prominent, particularly in TV matches. Brando also stated that over the years SKY had put millions of £'s into the sport but there was little indication of it being of benefit to the sport as a whole. (Mainly going to riders? he suggested.) Positive thoughts from Jim Lynch now that the problems over Coventry stadium seem to have been resolved. Seems he was involved in certain ways with the team building. In my view, suggestions that this event could have been 'streamed' would have resulted in more guarded responses to certain questions put to the panel. Well done to the NSSC and to the many fans who attended, boosting the funds for their Young Lions sponsorship.

Not sure if you are misunderstanding. It doesn't mean that a rider in both Leagues will have a combined average. They will end up with a Premiership average calculated over 32 matches, rather than the 20 match Rolling Average. Similarly they would end the season with a Championship average, calculated over 36 matches.
-
Forgot to add that all relevant League Matches will count. 32 Premiership, 36 Championship.
-
Rider's averages for 2017 will not include meetings from 2016. All riders will remain on their PL, Assessed or Converted (EL x 1.4) average until they have completed 4H & 4A matches.

What Was The Last Speedway Dvd/vhs You Watched?
Gambo replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
To be fair to Colin, he originally did audio tape recordings before joining with.... JSD Video? So he was probably more used to doing a full description of the action. "And that's a nasty, twisting fall........" -
Darcy Ward Says No Holder At Poole No Me At Poole

The only way that the team total could stay at 50 points would be if Premiership averages were multiplied by 1.4 throughout the season. -
6 exclusions out of 88 races for Coventry is hardly 40%. (6.818% actually)
-
Or Premiership 1.4 x Championship prices! (Just kidding!)
-
If 50 points is the initial Declaration Limit then I would suggest that somewhere around 42.5 would be the re-declaring limit. The only problem is what if a rider who has achieved a 'real' average (after 4H & 4A?) gets injured and you need to replace him with a new rider whos average is EL x 1.4.

So, when I win the lottery and have a team of:- Sayfutdinov, Woffinden, Doyle, Iversen, Nicki Pedersen, Garrity and Robert Lambert, that would be OK?
-
So you think he was lying in the interview when he stated that he had not contacted any other club and that no club had contacted him?

Belle Vue V Coventry Friday 2nd Sep

I believe Jason actually caught the fence with his hand after being forced out so wide. -
Maybe others were considering moving in for him, but were blocked by the promoter of the club that holds his registration?

How would the track be made bigger when there is the greyhound track around the outside?

Coventry V Poole El Friday 22nd April 2016
Gambo replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hindsight is a wonderful thing! I wonder how many Coventry fans (me included) had pencilled in James Sarjeant (6pts) for Heat 14 rather than Josh Bates (2 pts) ATB Dave -
Krzysztof is on an assessed average until he has ridden 4H & 4A. The latest info I have is that Rolling Averages now only include the previous season (2015). As he did not ride in England last season his 2014 average applies until the 4H & 4A is achieved. ATB Dave

I believe that this is only a recent concession to the 'rules' regarding the showing of meeting footage, but with a restriction on how long that footage can be displayed. ATB Dave
