  1. Adam Ellis was at Cardiff with a couple of riders from the French speedway League, and Adam suggested that it would certainly not be too expensive to run 'Test Matches' against a French side. Maybe not at full international level, but certainly at Championship League level.
  2. I thought the schedule had been changed to please the Riders, as some riders had more starts immediately after a track grade/watering, which put them at a disadvantage?
  3. That does not concur with the format I have prepared for the Referee.
  4. My apologies, You are correct, 22 Qualifying Heats + 2xS/F & Final.
  5. It is: 20 Qualifying Heats. 4 rides per Team. Top 4 teams to 2 x S/F. 1 v 4, 2 v 3. Winning Team from each S/F to Final. 4-3-2-0 scoring in all races.
  6. The 'Masters of Manchester' open meeting is being scheduled for Belle Vue on Saturday 12th October.
  7. Blimey! I fondly remember his time at Coventry, growing in stature from a good rider to a world beater! Such a nice bloke with a great sense of humour too! Always approachable and always found time for a chat even at the GP's after he'd left Coventry. Like R&R says..Thanks for the memories AJ.
  8. So you are not going to Leicester again, in case there is a delay and/or abandonment? That is your prerogative, but you staying away will not make a difference to the medical cover! And, apart from last night, where it was a bit 'gate and go', even you must admit that this year has seen some great racing at Leicester. Nose, spite & face phrase comes to mind.
  9. So, how many ambulances do you think they should have in attendance? How many Paramedics, how many spare tractors?
  10. Or maybe... Other riders turned down the chance to ride in Russia, having to lose the use of their best equipment for a couple of weeks?
  11. Just to clarify a couple of points, the start was delayed because the tractor that pulls the bowser broke down, and the delay was to enable water to be put on the track once the tractor had been fixed. I'm no track-man but you often hear that it is not wise to water the inside of the track once it has got slick, although it might have helped if the mid-match watering had been done a little earlier. Maybe the bowser had not had enough time to be re-filled? I do agree with you point (as per the photo) about the two bare patches around the first turn.
  12. The downside of the September date is the fact that the University accommodation (at around £25 per night) is not available.
  13. It's strange that Coventry is/was always considered as the Wembley of F1 Stock Cars (Stock Car driver's words, not mine!) and yet they raced on exactly the same surface material as the Speedway.
  14. You asked what he had done! I have supplied an answer! What else do you think he MUST do to get your approval?
  15. He, (along with Rory Schlien and other riders) has spent many (unpaid) hours in training schools with the youngsters. And has also spent a lot of time on individual coaching with the Thompson twins at Leicester.
  16. But…... do the referees hold them so long because riders are moving? Riders are supposed to stay still!
  17. Typical Shovlar getting on the bandwagon with a populist put down! Bet you weren't saying that in the Play Off Final last year!
  18. Because of restrictions imposed on Clean Cut, the message about the delayed stream was only allowed to be publicised (on Belle Vue twitter account) shortly before the streaming began. As word gradually got round, the streaming audience climbed to over 1300. It may well have climbed further after the actual meeting finished. I can understand the (financial) reluctance of publicising the stream, but the technology exists to block the stream from certain areas. Kudos to Pete Ballinger in actually getting the stream going despite having short notice that permission had been granted for the delayed stream.

  20. Just started watching the Polish live feed and seen three separate falls caused by bumps/ruts? in the track!
