Max wasn’t scoring. He needs to toughen himself up, but he is young and could improve. Vinnie Ford is chalk and cheese to Perry. Same age but not afraid to get stuck in and mix it. Raw in the extreme and similar to Killeen when he was at Plymouth. Fast but wild. His experience will grow in the next couple of seasons and by 20 he could be a very good rider.
Matt is loyal to riders. In return he expects commitment and improvement. Also said commitment cost us the title last season when Tarasenko offered his services to Poole but he stuck with his 1-7 as no rider at the time deserved to be dropped. He said In hindsight a mistake as it handed Glasgow the title.
Missed (or ignored) my point completely!

The bottom line is Poole were the best team in the league. They assembled a strong top 4, including three riders with significant potential to improve (and all three did, although Zach seemed to save his best performances for the Brummies). Then they signed 'a second-rate' Dane already regarded as a failure over here that nobody else had the remotest interest in and got points out of him. Then they managed to get far more from Hagon (at least in the first half of the season) and Foord (who has a lower NDL average than Scott or Perry) than could reasonably be expected.
Whether it's in spotting who to sign or how they bring out the best in riders once signed Poole have that extra edge. My one reservation would be their lack of interest in grassroots speedway.
But they are interested in hoovering up the NDL riders that come to the fore (at other promotions expense), but then spit them out when the promise doesn't materialise for whatever reason (e.g. Max Perry).

Because it's a non starter loss making idea not ground breaking at all for most clubs. Personally have no interest in NDL racing and know many who feel the same.
But those clubs that don't run because it is a "loss making idea", are quite happy to hoover up the talent that does emerge from the efforts of other clubs!🤬
And when the promise does not materialise as hoped (e.g. Max Perry), they spit them out and grab another prospect that they have done nothing to support.

Strange, isn't it. Back in the times when I started going to Speedway (1965) we would go to Coventry (and away tracks) to watch a Speedway meeting, because we loved the sport. Whether Coventry were fighting for the League Title or fighting to avoid the wooden spoon, we still went to see a Speedway meeting, because we loved the sport.
We went to season opening (and closing) challenge matches to see a Speedway meeting because we loved the sport.
Nowadays it seems that others only want to see 'meaningful' meetings. To me, all Speedway meetings are meaningful, the result is just secondary.

fricke kurtz Lidsey have all re-arranged their plans to get to czech republic for GP challenge it's a joke if the meeting doesn't go ahead !!
So they will still get to the GP challenge even if it is postponed. I'm sure they would all prefer a safe dry track next week. The weather down here is horrendous.
Would rather see a raceable track than a 'rideable' one.

Neither Cardiff or Belle Vue are close to me but hope it's a success. I'll stick to the guarantee of it being on, at Cardiff and watch BV on TV.
Me too!

Time for the ignore button me thinks. If @admin won't do anything, it's up to us as individuals to ignore the Troll.
Please don't even quote him. I have him on ignore but still see his posts if quoted. 😒

Fair enough, either way what happened today was correct as per the rules of the actual federation running it..
I too will take your word for it, 😁but I can't find any mention of that particular scenario in the Regs.
Maybe there was a Supplementary Regulation issued for the event?

Once the semis are confirmed yes.
If Zmarzlik is leading the meeting and crashes in heat 18, they won’t run a semi final with 3 riders only? They will.

I didn't say that it had happened, it is just the ruling for if it did.

It was confusing but Drew Kemp did qualify, with Sam Masters no longer in the meeting he moved up to 6th.if a top 8 rider in the GP got injured in heat 20 you wouldn’t have a track reserve in a semi, it would be the next top scorer so this was the same and as per the rules.
FIM rules are that if a rider is unable to take his place in a Semi Final/Final, he is considered to be in last place in that Semi Final/Final. Nobody is 'promoted' to fill that place.

Max James replaces Sam Hagon who suffered injury after a crash at Poole yesterday.

A change in format / layout is a norm we eventually get familiar with. Good intention but badge / newbie rewards feels somewhat childish.
Not including yourself (or me 😁) of course, but some of the posters on here do seem to fit into that childish bracket!

The Riders have 2 minutes to be ready to race. What they do in that two minutes is up to them. Gardening only seems more prevalent now as the riders want to maximise their time in preparing their start grid.
In the past they would trundle round at any time in the two minutes and then start gardening.

I would certainly buy into it a bit more if it was televised in the UK with English (or even Ermolenkish) commentary. I watched a little bit of it last night and just couldn't get on with them gabbling away in Polish... gave up in the end and watched some ESS that was available on catch up this month for free on Premier Sports to Virgin Media customers, although not my cup of tea as Alex Raby talks far too quickly for my liking at least it was in English.
I can't understand why so many on here watch the Ekstraliga with Polish commentary
SEC coverage is available in English via Fanseat.
Dave Rowe's research into the event (and any other meetings that he voices) puts some other UK commentators to shame. His updates on the meeting stats are spot on too. I wonder what software he uses! 😁

I think it was mentioned at the last Leicester home meeting it will be staged along with the British Youth Championship and it's a tenner to get in
FYI There are 5 women in that Class on 31st.

Ah ok! And our track was a bit bumpy in those days too! When anyone mentions Bomber's races at Poole, that is the first one that comes to mind!
Not if you are a Bees fan, it isn't. 2010! Man of Steel is the one we always remember!

Can the back straight patrons see the tapes with the podium being in the middle?
Vinnie Foord - is he too dangerous?

Regarding the Scott/Foord incident, just watch Heat 5 (as an example) and see where Sam Masters starts to turn as he crosses the start/finish line. Jody Scott did the same, as do many others.
