  1. Thanks GreyhoundP -- already on the case plus hoping to have some "local" help as we did in Cz where Mario Jirout was absolutely superb for Chris.
  2. So do I Chris!! It is a tough one and having eight places would make it a tad easier !!
  3. By this then surely the "weaker" semi should only have the seven qualifiers ???
  4. Will do Fentigerslad --as for where next year wait and see !!! It is not just me behind him in "Team Kerr" with Ian Hewlett and Steve Norman doing a great job as well. That line-up at Lonigo looks awesome but we are sure it will not phase Chris , who will once again do his best as he always does!! Now to get planning for June 18th now we know we are off to Italy! (Thanks Tomas for the e-mail)
  5. Thanks Tomas --you have my e-mail address as well if you can send me them so I can start the travel arrangements for Chris . Thanks Laurence
  6. Tomas --you are always in the know. If Rye House are saying that King and Allen are at Lonigo has the draw been done ??? Jorgen Jensen told me Tuesday or Wednesday for the draw. If it has can you please let me know where Chris Kerr is so I can start the travel arrangements!! Thanks
  7. I know that the two USA places at Pardubice on Saturday will be filled by Jason Boyle and Chris Kerr but any one have any idea of the other 14 riders ? The listings show 2 x Czech ; 2 x Russia; 2 x German; 2 x Poland; 1 x Latvia; 2 x Hungary; 1x UA ; 1 x Finland; The Dutch have Rene van Weele The listing shows Christian Hefenbrock and Mattias Schultz as the two Germans. Would love to know before I fly out Thursday morning ==with Chris leaving Weds night with Ian Hewlett , Steve Norman and Brian Dalen by road. Thanks
  8. Despite having done the job myself for many years (and still a spring chicken!!) my favourite is Edwin Overland --always on top form, articulate, knowledgable and a nice guy too!!! Craig Saul is another who does a top class job and always does his homework thoroughly on the riders.
  9. definitely sounds like Lord Rattenbury of Rushall!!!
  10. Cheers Lunchalot !! Won't be able to stop for Aussie titles unfortunately-- but look forward to meeting up at Parks testimonial at Gillman.
  11. If I make it over to Oz for Parks' big one on December 3rd --what other meetings and where are planned from end of Nov to mid Dec ??? Thanks for any help as I can then start planning where to go --and sort out who I'm staying with!!
  12. 'fraid not old boy -- definitely the wrong sex for me !!
  13. good luck to George in his sats --more important than throwing a 500cc bike round a track remind him!! Yes Fiona seems to be doing well on the mechanics job --good to see a good looking mechanic for a change !!!
  14. Nice to meet up with Steve and George again --with your hard working female mechanic (although not secretary as she forcefully pointed out when asked to copy my programme scores by Steve!!). Interesting meeting and some great young talent to come through in the next few years. I've upped George's acting skills from 9.8 to 9.9 reflecting on that heat 8 re-staging first bend pile up !!! He'll never get a 10 though!! Hope things get better for you after the problems of the last week. Laurence
  15. have you put the order in for sunshine Jayne ?? see you later (really this time -but just me)
  16. Thanks for that. Have had a look and had to print it off --especially the picture --brings back great memories although I must admit I've a tear in my eyes looking at it. As for the licence think I can remember something like that being said . Any news on the funeral??
  17. absolutely correct FatherJack. It is a skill that I believe should be taught to every rider. In the US and Australia the riders can't get their licences until they can do it. I remember training schools by Jack Millen at Stoke and Charlie Scarborough at Crewe where it was always part and parcel of the training. How many English lads know how to drop a bike "on a sixpence" today ?? Very few.
  18. RIP Ray. My first speedway hero. He became a good friend and I visited him and his wife Dot in Hereford a few times. He gave me an old black helmet and a winners sash from a German grass track which I have kept with pride . A lovely. lovely man who always had time to say hello. Fond memories.
  19. Congrats to Tomas -- the forgotten half of the two Czech lads Buster and I used at KL in the BL Cup --with Jan Jaros having now made it over in to British Speedway. He had a good meeting for us at Peterborough when we nearly beat the Panthers at Alwaton --must be worth someone giving him a chance especially after this showing. Glad also top see my old mate Mr Jirout have a good meeting and but for his second race retirement could have made the rostrum. He is getting back to full fitness now but is saddled with a high average but would still do a good job in PL for someone I am sure. Mario is a showman ,some I know do not like him --and he does play up !!, but I never had an ounce of trouble with him at Somerset.
  20. Thanks Mainman, You wouldn't happen to know where the prospective site was? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As I was at the noise tests I should remember!! But can't at the moment --also the articles in the Star were written by me --- so I'll get the thinking cap on !!
  21. Planning permission and noise tests stopped it. It was Mike Parker behind it and after the failure no one tried again.
  22. Superb. You can e-mail me at laurencerogers@ic24.net and we can take it from there. Bruv is round for dinner tonight so I can update him then. Thanks BrizHeathen.
  23. Basically anything with an emphasis on Wiggy . I remember seeing one of the proggy's for the Series 500 at Trev's last year that had a spread on Simon --anything like that etc. Why do you have anything ?? Thanks Laurence
