  1. Good -if you are at Wolves you can bring me my 2 programmes please!!???
  2. Just hoping that went well for young Nicholas and that the place was packed. Just sorry I couldn't be in two places at the same time today. When my meeting was called off at 9.45 I had a load of calls to make and looked at the logistics of getting from Mildenhall to Newport by 1 but would have needed a helicopter!! Hoped you kept me a programme and one for Miike Moseley who did the stats for it !! Laurence
  3. His first track was actually Stoke (then Chesterton) in 1973. I saw him practice at Weymouth when I went there with Bryan Woodward and introduced him to Russ Bragg and Pete Lansdale. He never really settled in at Loomer Road and transfered to Eastbourne later in the season. Became one of the top men in the National League.
  4. just read it quickly and saw the bit on Belle Vue and didn't take it in as was browsing whilst havinga break whilst at my office!!! Apologies !!
  5. My British Speedway Directory does not go into all that detail but most of it --- hope moderators don't mine me plugging it!! -- £3.50 with colour maps and directions and details of all tracks and the speedway museum . Postal applications +50p P+P with cheques payable to : L Rogers . Send to : 111 Bilston Lane, Willenhall, West Midlands WV13 2JJ
  6. woops--Gillman not Gosford !! Only a short distance between Sydney and Adelaide mate!!! I put it down to the stress of team building this winter and not having had the joy of a visit down under this year!!!
  7. Just spoken to his dad and he has broken 2/12 and fractured L1 verterbrae. Being fitted with body brace in next day and transferred to Royal Perth Hospital where he will see the best spinal specialist there. Big Trev expects him to be there for at least a week. Recovery 6 weeks to 6 months dependent on him and how it goes. They will know more tomorrow --but Big Trev says it probably sounds worse than it is. For those who know Trev and what he's like --he is frustrated at just having to lie there not doing anything!! If I get any more news from Big Trev tomorrow will post it then.
  8. Thanks Bryn --will probably give his dad Big Trev a call later.
  9. Saw a posting elsewhere that Trev Harding crashed and was taken to hospital --any news ? Tried to txt him but had no reply.
  10. and for Shane's UK testimonial I got most of the lads to repay the compliment with 12 of them taking to the track to pay tribute to Parks in his own style --and Anji told me I wouldn't get the lads to do it!! But they did --and in style!! Then at Gosford for his Oz Tesimonial I had all the lads on parade with stick on hair pieces coming out under the chin Parks style!!! He though that was great!!
  11. Yes Bryn --you and I would much rather be down under at this time of the year!! Not sure then what Nicole was referring to in the e-mail she sent me (must have been on the VB and Toohey's??!!! ) or maybe your favourite tipple ...Bundy!!! Have just edited the original post having read the e-mail closer!!! Whoops --must have been the glass of Asti I had with my Xmas dinner!!
  12. Any details from NSW title . Had an e-mail off Nicole (Lee Herne's girlfriend) to say that Lee had won NSW title --well done mate!! Bet that brought a big smile to dad Phil's face!! Edit --just read the e-mail again ...Lee has "got" the NSW titles tonight was what I misread!!!
  13. Certainly was Chris --was one hell of a thud as Marek's head hit the fence but it was great to see him up and ok. Alan Mullery is actually Whizzer 's (Phil Morris's) dad John!!
  14. Many thanks to one and all --what a superb finale to the season. Good crowd (can you all come every week next year please?? ). No one could complain at the entertainment dished out and most importantly I think we have raised over £1000 for Gary Stead's wheelchair. The collection was £470 and added in to the sponsorship Mike and I have raised and what Dunni and Steve Hone added to it from getting Honie back on a bike against Colin Cage and the auction which added another £100 to the total , it is in excess of a grand --so we are not far off the target of £1400 needed to buy the chair. I believe there are still some pledges of money to come in so once the total is known I will post it. The lads from the grass track club were superb and everyone loved them and we will be having them back next year . Full marks to Huggy --the BEST track man in the country --for producing another superb racing strip with the track record being equalled in ht 1 and then lowered several times and is know sub 50 seonds!! Must admit I've got a few aches and pains this morning but enjoyed the experience. Thanks to the lads who lent me bikes --just couldn't get the first one to go though flooding it but did my four laps in the second one !!!
  15. You've forgotten the BIGGEST race of the day --the Match race!! Plus we have the young grass track lads for some demo races --it's going to be a great day!!
  16. Tired Mitchell --you're young you shouldn't get tired!! Hope you enjoyed your trip to the UK and riding at several tracks. All the best . Laurence
  17. 2 cracked ribs and severe bruisingfor Thommo. Henning Loof sore and stiff but no great problems --except his bike which he is working on to take his place as one of the reserves at the Big Bang next Sunday
  18. his decision Mildenhall 07'. Rob Smith replaces Simon Lambert who is down to one bike at the moment after blowing an engine Friday.
  19. hope your out getting your sponsors micman?? thanks to the stoke and birmingham fans who pledged and paid over some sponsorship last night --forms will be out at Mildenhall today.
  20. Lunchy --Mark's been back home a while now.
  21. With thanks to our good friends at Boston , Dave Allitt, Malcolm Vasey & Mick Smith, Adam Lowe is now named as first reserve for the meeting with a second reserve to be confirmed.
  22. He was hoping to but the wrist is not strong enough after having the plaster off and he has reluctantly withdrawn --with Darren Mallett replacing him. Other change is Joe Haines for Ben Hopwood.
