  1. Sold the shop a few years ago . In fact I spoke to him only today!! Still follows speedway watching on Sky but rarely goes to a meeting nowadays .
  2. Andy also rode for Stoke /Chesterton.
  3. The Olympique is an open meeting not an official fixture.

  5. I certainly hope so Neil. We have some promising lads coming though and must encourage them as much as possible --with hopefully more tracks wanting to do these meetings next year and I would willingly offer my services to help with this. Jordan Tyrer was so disappointed at being pulled out of the meeting at the last moment and hopefully after talking to him and his dad Paul they will not be disillusioned and walk away. Amazingly he was able to take out a one day licence at Swindon last Sunday to ride for Bristol as it was at an EL track but couldn't do this today and even a phone call to Graham Reeve came back with a negative response which in my mind was absolutely ridiculous. We want to encourage not discourage these lads. Jordan is a competent motor-cyclists with several grass track titles to his name so he should have been allowed to ride --and Richard Moss as the Training Instructor offered to assess him to pass him as competent but this was not allowed. I'll get off my soapbox now but I was not pleased with this decision !! I have now re-looked at my programme and had not put the reserve swap in ht 12 with Lloyd Barrett in that one --so he had 7 rides 5+1 and Kyle Howarth 7 rides 17+1. Will amend my original posting with this!! Many thanks to you Neil and all at Renaissance Property Managment Ltd and to Barry Simpson at Simpson Racing UK for your kind sponsorship of this meeting.
  6. Tremendous show by two depleted sides ending with a last heat decider and a Carmarthen win 46-44. In the 250's Reece Downes took the honours on 13 with Jack Cornes 2nd on 12 and Conner Dwyer third with 10. 21 races in an hour and a half as well!! With so many changes and double Rider-Replacement used by both sides I hope my scores are correct!! Checking through I had Kyle Howarth down for 8 rides!! However I missed the change of Lloyd Barrett for him in Ht 12 so all now sorted!! Carmarthen were without Brendan Johnson ( withdrew) , Joe Jacobs (injured) and were stopped at the last moment from using Jordan Tyrer as he had no licence!! Jack Butler swapped sides to the Dragons who were without Jake Knight (ill) and then lost Ashley Morris with a wrist injury in Ht 1!! Even so the 4 v 5 'men' sides produced some entertaining action. Newly crowned U-15 champ Jason Garrity had a seven ride 21 point max. Buxton 44 ( Jason Garrity 7r 21, Cameron Hoskins 7r 1, Ashley Morris (withdrawn injured), Lloyd Barrett 7r 5+1, Kyle Howarth 7r 17+1) Carmarthen 46 ( Scott Meakins 10+1, James Sergeant 7r 17, Jack Hirst 6r 8+3, Richard Andrews 7r 10+5, Jack Butler 4r 1) Just a great pity more fans did not come along to watch !!!
  7. Unfortuntely no Joe Jacobs after his crash in the U-15 round at Buxton last week. He tried his hand out at Ipswich on Thursday but had to admit defeat in his hopes of lining up for the Dragons on Sunday. Still two good sides out on track --let the battle commence!!
  8. Only a few days now till the lads take to the track for the clash --Hitmen v Dragons + the 250cc Individual event. Should be a great afternoon at Hi Edge --hopefully lots of fans will come along to support the up and coming British riders -see you there!!
  9. Really looking forward to it!! When are you announcing the teams then Mrs Moss ??
  10. As discussed with Graham Reeve + Jonah saturday the formula is being looked at . It is very disjointed.
  11. Jack Lee was there --and a currently trackless tm who was a bit busy helping to organise the riders!!
  12. Didn't see anyone filming it --and with the mist dropping at times it was getting hard to see the top bend anyway!!
  13. Now that sounds like a plan!! With Brendan riding Sunday you know it makes sense!!
  14. Yes I know Bob!! Wish I could have been in two places yesterday. May see you at the CL 4's next Sat ?
  15. Have had to give Adam Kirby the disappointing news that he cannot line-up in the meeting after all. If he was on a 250 he could have ridden in the 250 event but he is on a 500 but is not 14 till February. Naturally he is really disappointed with the news --but his time will come although at the moment that must seems a million years away for the lad . Also had text off Marc Owen to say that the Eastbourne meeting he was due to ride in on Saturday is now on Sunday and he riding for the Rye House Academy team --so we are working on a replacement for Marc. Joe Jacobs hope to be fit enough to ride after crashing yesterday. He has a minor fracture in his hand and heavy bruising. Full line-ups soon from Jayne. ALSO --a BIG thank you to Barry Simpson who has agreed to give product sponsorship for the meeting and I am sure the lads will be pleased with this .
  16. Think it is Manchester but entirely sure --but what a promising young talent he is.
  17. On the last point no idea --we were awaiting whether or not from Graham Reeve but he said not. I have ht 3 down as Lloyd third and Tyler fourth but could be wrong as I was then ensuring we had the correct riders in the correct helmet colours out for ht 4 of the 500's !! The boys were so keen that we had some going out for the wrong race at times early on until they waited for me or Cheesy to tell them !! Even had to run to the line to bring Lloyd back in ht 2 of the 250's when he was in ht 3 !!! But an enjoyable day despite the drizzle and mist. Looking forward now to next Sunday for the Hitmen v Dragons U-16 clash + a six heat six 'man' 250 mini-meeting.
  18. Not sure if my soaking wet programme is correct or not as I was rushing about getting the lads out for their races in the right helmet colours etc!! ~It wasn't raining as such but a wet damp foggy day. 500cc : Jason Garrity 12 ; Scott Gibbons dnr, Jack Butler 4, Joe Jacobs 4, Cameron Hoskins 3, Kyle Howarth 10, Marc Owen 7 , Scott Day 2, John Resch 7, Jack Hirst 6, James Sergeant 10. Championship : 1st -- Jason Garrity ; 2nd --- James Sergeant ; 3rd ---John Resch. 250cc : Jack Cornes 6, Daniel Sibson 2, Connor Dwyer 5, Nathan Stoneman DNR (Ill); Tyler Govier 5; Rhys Naylor 8 , Lloyd Barrett 7, Brendan Freemantle 7 , Daniel I'anson 8, Ben Morley 11. Championship : 1st -- Rhys Naylor; 2nd -- Nathan Stoneman ; 3rd -- Ben Morley. Well done to all the lads.
  19. Adam Kirby added to line-up after his licence was upgraded. Hope to announce the two teams asap after discussions with Jayne + Richard.
  20. ok !! thought you might be over anyway to see some of the young brits in action?? added Reece Downes to 250's list.
  21. Added to 500's --Richard Andrews + Lloyd Barrett (who might also do 250's) Added to 250's Tyler Govier Jayne hoping to add two more names to list tonight. Still need a few 250 and 500 lads.
  22. Hi Phil --the 250' s will have 6 races of their own so Nathan should get 4 rides.
