  1. I have been asked by Steve Mallett to point out that the Ryder Cup Golf at Celtic Manor will NOT effect the route into the stadium on Friday. The park and ride car parks are all based around the old Llanwern steelworks with entry from junction 23 at Magor Services not at Junction 24 The Coldra .
  2. Congratulations to one and all at Buxton on their success . It was certainly a top drawer performance from the Hitmen against the injury hit Hornets.
  3. Lee Smart was guest for missing No. 1 Todd Kurtz. Aaron Baseby and Ritchie Worrall are not in any 1-7's at the moment, Ash Birks is Scunthorpe No. 8 and allowed to guest as such. All approved by League co-ordinator.
  4. on the back of the resounding away win in the Trophy at Weymouth can the Hornets "Select" get the better of the Trophy table toppers Buxton and gain revenge for the Hitmen's League success at Queensway Meadows? With Tim Webster, James White-Williams and Tom Young all still out injured but with skipper Tony Atkin back after his rib injuries, Aaron Baseby and Ritchie Worrall again deputise in the Hornets side as they race their first fixture under lights ...should be a cracker!!
  5. Contributions kindly accepted! Well done to the guest chosen --nice to get things right on that score!! Well done to Smarty, Ash + Aaron + Ritchie !!
  6. Tony will return to action on Sunday in the home NT clash with Buxton so it's R/R for him . Aaron Baseby comes in for JWW at No. 6 for the Hornets
  7. Absolutely correct Dickie. This will be the Hornets first meeting under the new lights.
  8. Scorers chart for Newport slightly wrong as it was R/R for Kyle Newman who was at Rye House representing Team GB u21's in World Team Cup Final (congrats to Kyle!! )and it was James White-Williams at 6 who scored 3 points in a meeting to forget for him with bike problems in heat 2 meaning he was on Tony Atkin's machine and two falls . It was a meeting Buxton won but Newport threw away. Also Tony Atkin was 11+2.
  9. Looks like being a non-stop time with my Newport commitments, my business and the kids to look after !!
  10. Been talking with Dale Allitt tonight and he has one date for their leg. We are looking at when the two legs can be held closely together ..so hopefully sorted asap.
  11. As we well know the Newport track drains quickly and speaking with Steve just now it has not had that much rain on it and the forecasts although they differ slightly all predict a dry evening. Have just spoken with Michael Max at Glasgow and told him that it's all systems go --so spread the word in South Wales please that the meeting is on. Glasgow are without Lee Dicken (r/r) and John Branney ( Michal Rajkowksi as guest). 7.45 PARADE. Happy Hour in Bar 6-7. Kids for a Quid. Karaoke in bar after . ....and the Floodlights are officially turned on!!
  12. Gino returned home last week after his 6 month stay was up --but aiming to be back in 2011
  13. No dates as yet for Newport v Kings Lynn as awaiting news off Dale Allitt when he can run his leg of the Semi-Final
  14. Just confirmed Sunday Sept 12th with Rye House.
  15. Not this Friday Billy --but the Tenner entry will return soon. With a lot of people having re-admission tickets from last Friday it was decided to just offer Kids for a Quid this week , with Happy Hour in the Bar 6-7, Karaoke after the meeting and the Grand Floodlight turn on .
  16. I have been asked by Steve Mallett to post the following : Tim has not been dropped from the Hornets but rested. He was injured in the clash at Kings Lynn and although early reports indicated some broken bones he luckily escaped with sprains and bruising. The club received a text off Tim informing us that he would be out of action for a few weeks. With some important fixtures up and coming it was decided to look for cover for him whilst out of action rather than rely on Rider Replacement. With the unfortunate loss of Mildenhall from the league Luke Priest became available and the club negotiated to bring him to Newport. In the meantime Tim has decided to declare himself fit to ride despite his earlier text indicating he would not be riding. Having re-declared the team the club have decided not to go back on their deal with Luke Priest and he will make his debut at home on Sunday against Weymouth. Tim Webster remains part and parcel of Newport Speedway and we hope to welcome him back into the side soon.
  17. Behave girl --you've known me long enough!! Actually bought a few select people a drink at Wolves night!!
  18. Basically --yes. He is riding for his own club this Friday. This fixture was arranged only last Friday and confirmed at about 5pm --with thanks going to Jayne Moss and the Hitmen for agreeing at short notice to come giving Mildenhall , who were due in a NT meeting , more time to get their situation sorted. Therefore no one knew last Friday when the riders arrived for the Newport v Rye House fixture that Adam would be back for his own club 7 days later --so commonsense prevails!!
