  1. Martin Palmer has it pretty spot on i'd say. The previous County Cricket analogy was pretty good iMO. They have promotion and relegation, the top stars ARE missing for a sizeable amount of time (Test Matches, England contracts), the crowd levels for County matches are not much different to Speedway either. romotion and relegation are a must if Speedway is to be considered even remotely credible.
  2. Why not comment on Sullivan?? That man is more of a disgrace than Pedersen and Crump added together, with the arrogance and disdain that he treats the Peterboro public with.
  3. Two of my favourite riders...honestly! Both give 100% all the time and are top value for money. Don't mind which one wins really, but i'll say Crumpie as Orion has a big wedge on him.
  4. Gonna go for: Rickardsson Crump Gollob Holta Adams out in Semi's, Pedersen having a shocker.
  5. I know you've always admired Sullivan's dedication and commitment to his Peterboro duties Tim
  6. Classic Speedway fan mentality Robbo i'm afraid :x
  7. I've got Tyburn's British League days down like this (including matchs as a stand in). Edinburgh(65),Oxford(65),West Ham(67),Canterbury(68),KingsLynnII(70)
  8. Didn't realise he'd passed on. Do you know when, so i can update my database for my proposed website??
  9. I believe Ray Humphries was the real name of Tyburn Gallows who rode in the 60's
  10. I know Danny Kennedy rode for Poole and Weymouth during the late 70's early 80's and averaged around 6ish in the British League and 8.5 in the NL. He had one match for Exeter in '78 and scored 0 from 2 according to the History of the British League. Died from a brain tumour i think
  11. My online bet has not been refunded and is carried forward, guess the same applies.
  12. Goodnight Speedway RIP. Put back 10 years tonight, the overall unprofessionalism of the 'sport' has come home to roost!!!!
  13. Probably Eric Hockaday. Cradley 43 Edinburgh 35
  14. And who exactly would you have wanted through? They were the pick of the bunch, and if you think someone like Gjedde deserved a spot, well he was out of his depth yesterday and not worthy of a qualifying spot. same goes for BJ who made up the numbers. Only shocks were PK, Ulamek and L Dryml, and the later should hopefully get an automatic seed as he would have been there but for his injuries. PK also deserved a spot, and was favourite to win the meeting. Ulamek started brightly but faded, and all the others missed out because they were not good enough! Easy tiger , don't recall making any reference to Charlie deserving a spot at all. I just think these 6 will weaken the competition as a whole, mainly because riders of a better calibre will be dropping out of this years competition. I believe the qualification system needs looking at to ensure as near to the best riders in the world as possible participate in the GP's.
  15. Must agree with ROG H, a pretty uninspiring set of qualifiers. well done to them anyhow, but can't see any enhancing the GP setup next year.
  16. Sorry, can't find any reference to it in the Speedway Stars of that time
  17. Grrr  don't get me started on that embarrassment Millard!
  18. The School of English say's, you are a baffoon!!!

  20. Fair play Neil. Best Wishes for tonight, 100% commitment as shown in the last 2 Meetings is all anyone can ask. Well Done
  21. The miracle worker who managed to pass someone on that excuse of a track was Renat Gafurov
