  4. mmm, a mighty score of 3, and a 40-38 win for CH....dodgy!! I remember Easty 40-38 Robins in 1984...blatantly touched the tapes, race brought back with Crumpy in a match winning lead. Hey presto 5-1 Easty in he re-run and a two point win. He then had the neck to come over and gloat in fornt of the Swindon throngs!! Also, a running battle with Henry Hitch over the Golden Helmet at Blunsdon one night in '85 i think. Couldn't abide him as a rider
  5. August 29th 1983 Cradley 53 - 25 Swindon in the morning (Crump 12) Swindon 29 - 49 Cradley in the evening (Crump 15max for Swindon!!) Crumpy got 1/2 of Swindon's points over the 2 matches!!!!! The way we improved we'd have had 'em after another 3 matches!!
  6. All's well, edition 4 arrived this morning. I think a sub confirmation e-mail would be a good idea. Cheers!!
  7. TMC, i filled my online subscription in on Sunday, i've not heard anything back yet to confirm it's worked ok
  8. He did lower himself to be Team Manager for the Runners for a while in the 80's
  9. Bit of an odd one 'Briggo' Neither Stangeland or Handley rode for Swindon before 1973 and 'you' left in 1972!!
  10. Who's been left out who could make a difference then?? Only Chrzanowski looks a real no hoper for a place in the semi's in this lot
  11. I give up..is there no end to how stupidly Speedway wants to portray itself to the outside world??? The World Cup in 3 different countries??!!...Mickey Mouse rubbish!!
  12. I do hope you're having a laugh! Yet another ridiculous decision, speedway can't get anything right.

  14. No Hitchy..you can't say that about the mighty Leonard!! The man was an absolute legend...he even rode in a World Team Cup Final. The mere fact he didn't score a solitary point for Swindon is surely immaterial He did have an appalling 'tache though, i'll give you that As for Frank Richt......

  19. Does anyone please have the complete list of scorers from the 1979 European Under 21 Final in Rovno USSR?? It was won by Ron Preston, but the Speedway Star of the time has no scores! Ta
  20. Oh no... here we go again. Havelock let his country down in the 2001 race-off, again in the 2002 race-off, then again in the 2003 final. For someone who is supposed to be proud to wear the racejacket, some of his performances have been woeful, especially from a former World Champion. In contrast, Screeny rode with a passion on Monday night. He should be in the team on Saturday, not Havelock. All the best Rob A World Cup is no place for sentiment. Screenie did well yesterday, but is pants at Poole. No decision to make, had to be Havvy.
