  3. The reason for Gollob attempting the move is obvious. The cowpat of a track only realistically afforded riders any chance of winning from gates 1 and 4. Therefore the two Semi winners would have had first pick to obtain one of the only two gates worth having. The Semi 2nd's may as well have started in Venice for all the chance they would have had. Having said that, he got the move wrong and was justifiably dispatched.

    John Stayte

    Definitely an Aussie
  5. In an ideal world, Speedway would be able to hold a proper World Cup every 2 or 4 years, 10 man squads, staged in one country over 2-3 weeks. In reality, it's a complete non starter.
  6. I'm sure he was Australian, Kev
  7. Classic roller from Bjerre in his last race. A pretty insipid meeting all round with at least 2 no hopers getting through.
  8. And a Bjerre win will cement the last place for him.

  10. Pavlic is getting bullied in those first turns. Pretty un-inspiring stuff really.

Sorry Kev, I don't. I do know he was killed in a Grasstrack crash in August 1976 though.

I've got a feeling he was a Purton lad.
  16. Vixter This a list of riders I'm missing info on. Mr Horspool is safely on my list with all his bits intact!
