  1. I would say it weakens us slightly. Howarth will have good nights and bad, just like Gomolski - but the 'goods' ,may be less frequent. No harm done though, this team is still plenty good enough to comfortably reach the play offs.
  2. If anything Harris is the dubious call on 2013 form. Kennett is far from world class but the options are limited. We're not going to win it so may as well have chucked Worrall in too, particularly at Lynn.
  3. First speedway meeting I've actually enjoyed watching this season. Proper speedway Nige!
  4. Exactly how I saw it. Freddie being discluded was a poor decision.
  5. Vaclav Milik never rode for a UK team.
  6. That's not true. The Watford analogy doesn't work because the players were on loan and not just stepping in for one match. This compares with Eddy Kennett being on loan to Swindon for example, not teams full of other sides' riders as a one off. The Workington match last night was ridiculous, the Comets were significantly stronger by picking the low average, in form riders from elsewhere.
  7. Definitely Petr Vandirek to the left of the three.
  8. That 'apology' is more of a farce than the call off itself. It says absolutely nothing!
  9. It's disgraceful that British Speedway still finds time to entertain riders like Mitchell Davey. There have been countless foreign riders who are sub-standard but shift around from team to team, without ever improving. The PL isn't about being a meal-ticket for the likes of Davey, Jade Mudgway, Max Dilger, Alex Edberg etc. Two seasons or over 21, averaging less then 5 - get rid!
  10. Young lads who just happen to ride a speedway bike for a living in getting p*ssed shocker!
  11. Never heard of him. That Andy Freegard geezer is tops though apparently!!!!

  13. Maybe not! http://speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.19051
  14. Sometimes there's no helping Speedway. The promoters insist on this ridiculous lop-sided fixture list, presumably to minimise costs. They then proceed to arrange for Swindon to meet relatively local and well-supported Poole and Coventry at home only once, By contrast Belle Vue and King's Lynn, who'll have about 3 away fans between them, visit twice!...presumably to minimise income as well!! - give me a clue??!!!
  15. Hope this doesn't bite us on the bum, we could actually end up with Bjerre!!

  17. Not sure what to make of signing Teddy Kenny. I guess in the context of the team, I can see the logic, although personally I would have liked a closer gap between the top 5 and top reserve. Kennett has always struck me as a bit one-dimensional as a rider and lacking in track craft, not much of a 'thinking rider'. No doubt, he can be a 7 point man if he applies himslef. 'If' is the operative word here though. Having said all that, we're shaping up as play-off contenders again and we've got rid of Tragic Janowski into the bargain!!
  18. Local rag pretty much nails that it's Teddy Kenny.
  19. That would be a better balance in my view.
  20. Birks has made great progress in the last 2 seasons, but this is a big step. His signing means we need a really strong number 6 now to cover the meetings where Ashley struggles. I can't pretend that I'm not a shade concerned on the balance of the side if we sign Janowski. North will not be a strong enough rider to cover for Birks. I await Rosco and Patch to work their magic again.
  21. If Musielak is on a 6 then Pawlicki on a 7 is about right. If Bech is a 5, it's utterly ridiculous based on the other numbers, all known form would suggest he's better then both of the Poles amd probably should be 7.50. Some transparency is needed here, although I am very much an advocate of a minimum of 6.
  22. The main point here is Klindt is 7 years younger than Stead. He's had one dodgy, injury hit season. No guarantee that Klindt is Swindon's plans anyway. No Poles at all for me please, the make-up of last year's team was ideal from both an availability and team-spirit prespective.
