  1. Building on the plot was obviously GI's plan from day one back in the mid-noughties, as many realised. I'm sure the original plan was for Osborne to develop the whole plot himself, but as you say, he's now offset some risk and potential planning pain by selling the stadium footprint. I'm sure L&G wouldn't be in the business of buying this if they didn't have some assurance that the planning change of use is likely to get pushed through.

  3. It could be interpreted that Osborne is looking to move the stadium land on. I wonder if his recent planning change for that land has been pushed back?
  4. L&G Affordable Homes have paid GI a deposit for a charge over the Abbey Stadium plot with an intention to buy and develop it.

    Reg Duval

Sad news that 97-year-old former Coventry and Liverpool (amongst others) star Reg Duval has passed away.
  8. Wherever it may be, we don't want those a***holes (Russell and Osborne) running anything vaguely associated with Swindon Speedway!!
  9. That is the rumour. I think it must be where Lord Lucan keeps Shergar in a stable.
  10. I'm exactly the same - it's almost as important to me to make their lives difficult as it is to get us back on track.

  18. It's the fruits of the nice Mr Russell's labours in playing the viability card and stepping aside to leave a clearer path. Removal of the covenant leaves the greyhound position in their own gift and leaves them able to cease them and leave the stadium to rot until the council relent - which they will.
