Live updates from tonights WTC match?

Great Britian are through as well as Sweden -
After seeing Sergey Darkin's crash last night, I was just wondering why there is no reserves for the teams, in the world cup. What happens if someone gets injured, teams would have complete the meeting with only four riders. Remember Paul Hurry in Poland, and his brave ride even though he was suffering with bad concusion, after his horrendous crash. Teams should have a reserve, that could be interudce at any time, too solve any problems, that might happen.

Teams and info can be found at the world.speedway.org website, link is below. http://world.speedway.org/wc/t/q3.sdf David Rudd is the fifth member of he Swedish team.

Who ever Middlo picked, I would back them 100%. If Jason Lyons had not be doing his rolling starts, I think Great Britian would have made to the final last night. Great effort from the boys.

Event 2 tonight - Come on Team GB.
Robbie B replied to MAD 3:16's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Great Britian gave 100% last night, could not ask for more. I think we do have a great chance in the race-off on Thursday, then give the other teams a big scare in the final, we could even win it, with a little bit of luck that all teams need. -

Surley the way that Charlie Gjedde is riding at the moment, he must be in the starting line up, for Demark's first match in the world cup. :? A very big mistake by Jacob Olsen, to put him in the resevers.

Loram to miss World Cup?
Robbie B replied to Peter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't blame Mark Loram. These races may make good TV, but if I was a rider I wouldn't like too ride in these races, with no room, to race on the tracks. Maybe the person who thought the idea up, should try racing in a five man race themsleves, too see if they like it. -
Some tremendous riders here, got to have a good think about my riders,.

What was the first speedway meeting that you can remember going to :?: I know others members of the forum have going to speedway, way before me, but below is the details of the first meeting that I went, and got hooked on speedway too. Wimbledon may have lost this meeting :-( , but I have supported them ever since. Thursday 18th March 1976 Wimbledon 32 1 Tommy Jansson (R/R) 2 Barry Crowson 2 - 0 - X = 2 3 Bo Jansson 1 - 2 - 1 - 0 = 4 + 1 4 Mick Hines 1 - 0 - 3 - 0 = 4 + 1 5 Edgar Stangeland 0 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 2 = 7 6 Larry Ross 1 - 0 - F - 2 - 0 = 3 + 1 7 Roger Johns 2 - 2 - 3 - 1 - 2 = 10 + 1 Manger Cyril Maidment Reading 46 1 Dave Jessup 3 - 3 - 3 - 3 = 12 2 Bernie Leigh 1 - 1 - 2 - 0 = 4 3 John Davis 3 - 3 - 0 - X - 3 = 9 4 Eugeniesz Blaszak 0 - 1 - 0 - 1 = 2 5 Bengt Jansson 3 - 3 - 3 - 1 = 10 6 Bob Humphreys 3 - 1 - 2 = 6 7 Mick Bell 0 - 2 - 1 = 3 + 2 Manager Reg Ferman Heat 1 Jessup, Crowson, Leigh, Stangeland (R/R) 2 - 4 Heat 2 Humphreys, Johns, Ross, Bell 5 - 7 Heat 3 Bengt Jansson, Stangeland, Hines, Blaszak 8 - 10 Heat 4 Davis, Bell, Bo Jansson, Ross 9 - 15 Heat 5 Jessup, Stangeland, Leigh, Hines 11 - 19 Heat 6 Davis, Johns (R/R), Humphreys, Crowson 13 - 23 Heat 7 Bengt Jansson, Bo Jansson, Blaszak, Ross (Fell) 15 - 27 Heat 8 (rerun) Johns, Leigh, Blaszak, Crowson (Fell, Excl) 18 - 30 Heat 9 (rerun) Hines, Humphreys, Stangeland, Davis (Fell, Excl) 22 - 32 Heat 10 Bengt Jansson, Ross (R/R), Johns (Res/Rep), Blaszak 25 - 35 Heat 11 Jessup, Johns, Bo Jansson, Leigh 28 - 38 Heat 12 Davis, Hines, Bengt Jansson, Ross (R/R) 30 - 42 Heat 13 Jessup, Stangeland, Blaszak, Bo Jansson (R/R) 32 - 46 Second Half Junior Race 1 Heat 14 Bredan Shilleto, Lee Edmunds, Paul Dowdall, Ian Williams (Fell) 67.3secs First Night Scurry Heats Heat 15 (rerun) Jessup, Humphreys, Ross, Bo Jansson (Fell, Excl) 63.7secs Heat 16 Davis, Bell, Johns, Dowdall 63.9secs Heat 17 Hines, Edmunds, Graham Banks, Blaszak 64.7secs Heat 18 Stangeland, Bengt Jansson, Leigh, Bo Jansson 63.4secs Junior Race 2 Heat 19 (rerun) Banks, Dowdall, Shilleto, Edmunds (Fell, Excl) 64.5secs First Night Scurry Final Heat 20 Jessup, Stangeland, Davis, Hines 63.4secs Oh Happy Days I was twelve when I went to this meeting. I also used to go reguarly to White City, Hackney and also to Crayford now and again. Wimbledon, years ago in the second half, used to put junior riders in the second half heats, to give them experience. Later there was three qualifing heats, with the fastest second place rider, also qualifing for the second half final. Luckily enough, I kept all my old programmes. It's great to look back on my old programmes, now and again.

What Are Sky TV Playing At?
Robbie B replied to Robbie B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Rabbit, you have missed the point. I have already got Sky Digital, but I do not think that it is fair that fellow supporters of the sport, should miss-out on GP coverage next week, or any other week. Some people are paying sky subscription on cable TV, to watch speedway, but Sky are putting speedway on 'Sky Sports Extra', a channel that they cannot not receive. I think that it is about time for Sky, and the cable companies sort this problem out. -
I don't if you noticed that next weeks Slovenia GP, is gonna be shown on Sky Sports Extra. A channel that not everyone can get. What are thay thinking of :?: It don't effect me, but loads of supporters watch the GP's on cable, a totally supid idea by Sky

I just seen that out injured in the Danish GP are Mark Loram, Lee Richardson, Hans Andersen and Krzysztof Cegielski. A very speedy recovery to all these riders. In their places will be Robert Dados, Roman Povazhny, Ronni Pedersen and Peter Karlsson.

It now looks like Hans Andersen will miss the British GP now, after breaking his hand in last night Elite League match away to Ipswich. It seems to me that this year's GP riders, are jinxed, with several of them missing GP's though injuries. We have not had GP yet, this year with all twenty two riders who have originally quailfied. I do hope that this is the last injury to any rider this year. Next rider reserve in line is Robert Dados of Poland. Just seem this on the BSPA website Chris Harris will replace Hans Andersen in the British GP. GO BOMBER GO

News on Mark Loram
Robbie B replied to Concrete Cowboy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It also states that Ronnie Pedersen will ride instead of Mark Loram on www.world.speedway.org Shame Mark's not riding, but if he's not 100% fit, better safe then sorry. Hope to him racing again soon. -
Mark Loram has withdrawn from saturday's Swedish GP , his place has been taken by Ronnie Pedersen of Denmark. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( Just hope that he is fit for the British GP. What a pity that he was injured before the GP's, totally wrecked his chances of being world champ again, maybe next year.
