  2. Tony, Freddie Williams would indeed be a worthy number one. It should make for a very interesting read. Easily I would say the greatest Welsh rider ever. Shame I wasn't born to be able too see these great riders race, but I always find reading about the history of our great the sport very interesting. Will you be doing a pre-war version as well?
  3. Happy Happy Happy Well done to all of the Great Britain riders, now go and win it
  4. I go for Peter Craven, as being top of the list. Can't wait for the issue, I just renewed my subscription, of this excellent magazine.
  5. From my SWC Predictions thread that I put on here earlier in the week. Event 1 Poland to win this one very easily by about 14 points at least, I guess. Second to Poland will be a very nervy Danish team who will finish about 4 points in front of the Russians. The Czech Republic will be about 10 point behind the Russians. Event 2 I can't any reason why Great Britain can't win this one. It will be close I can see us winning by 6 points. Australia will be second about 4 points in front of Sweden, with Finland about 14 points behind the Swedes. Race-Off This will be massive battle between all the teams. I think with Leigh Adams returning to the Aussie team they will just have enough to pinch-it by 4 points. Now for a surprise the Swedish team to finish second 4 points in front of the Danes, who will badly miss Nicki Pedersen due to injury. The Russians will be 8 points behind Denmark. Final Poland are obvious favourites, but I feel they will come in second place, about 4 points behind the winners. Sweden will come fourth. So this now leaves just Great Britain and Australia. If the British riders ride to their full potential I can see them winning it (you may think I'm mad) they will need the sort of meeting that they had in the race-off in Vojens a few years ago. Australia to finish third 4 points behind Poland. I do feel that this is the best chance Great Britain have had for a few years to,if they all stick together and ride at their very best. It's just a shame that Jason, Nicki and Emil will be missing from the competition due to injury, they will be missed by all of their team greatly. Get well soon one-and-all. Now you can all have a good laugh - put your predictions on here if you dare. It's good fun really.

  8. Stead for me. Former wolves rider and in the form of his life so far. At 14-1 @ Sky Bet couldn't resist, small wager placed.
  9. What a tragic day for speedway, their family's and friends it was. No rider who loses his life or become paralysed should ever be forgotten by the fans who saw them race. Vic Harding R.I.P. What a very talent rider Steve Weatherley was, such a tragedy, and I wish him all the best.
  10. Looking at my Speedway Star 2010 yearbook. John Davis, is not listed as Argentina champion in their roll of honour.
  11. 13. Jaroslaw Hampel as my captain for the Danish GP please.
  12. Tony, I have to agree with you 100%. Barry's use and fruity language gave true authenticity to the interview as you knew that every word he said was real. No water down version that would have lost its meaning in context. You can hear far worse language then Briggo's today in most modern blockbuster films and television programmes. Briggo, will always be a true legend of speedway. I am not saying saying this because he rode for my team Wimbledon. But for what he achieved in the sport. His bike ride around the UK can't be commended enough, as far as I'am concerned.
  13. R.I.P. Tommy you will never be forgotten by me. I have a special five page tribute in Tommy's memory including a full UK race record at my Wimbledon speedway website at My website link
  14. Sorry Steve19620 I didn't realise my programme was completed from information from the Speedway Star. I didn't start going speedway until 1976, I brought it on eBay. There is another copy of this programme with complete race details on eBay at the moment eBay Link It might be worth contacting the seller to see whether it's has the programme details that you require.

  16. 1. Jason Crump, as my captain for the Czech Republic GP, for me please.
  17. Thoroughly enjoyed the DVD. Have to agree with Ivan Mauger's comments on the 1970 final being the hardest one to win. With all riders on basically riding the same equipment, rider's attitude skill was paramount.
