I have deleted my post now that all teams have been confirmed. They are on the SGP website -
Rudy Muts, rode in some second half events, at Plough Lane, in 1976 before making the team the following season.

Chris Morton (Belle Vue) also had a ten point average of 10.11

Steve Brooker, if memory serves my right also had second half races, at Wimbledon.
-
Yes Steve, rider control was scrapped at the end of the 1976 league season. The Ole Olsen saga, didn't help matters, before the 1976 league season started. He was allocated to ride for Hull, but he refused to ride for them, as he only wanted to ride, for Coventry. If I remember right, at the start of the 1977 league season British League teams were given a 50 point rider limit.
-
Hi Tony I hope that you don't mnd me saying Christer Lofqvist died, on 1 February 1978. He was also allocated to ride for Wimbledon in 1976, by rider control, but Wimbledon couldn't agree terms, with him.

Oldest Person To Appear In A One Off World Final.
Robbie B replied to BOBBATH's topic in Years Gone By
But Aub Lawson did qualify for the 1939 World Final. -
Totally agree with you Norbold, I would have loved too see these pre-war stars, in action, shame that I wasn't born, at the time. Without these riders we wouldn't have speedway today. From my own time Wimbledon Vs Hackney was always brilliant for me, as my brother was a Hawk surporter, it always made it, extra special.

According to the 1977 Speedway Yearbook, Tony, was born on 26 Dececember 1942.

It's a shame that pepe has decided this. But I do understnd the reason why. Why are Poland (only one GP rider per team) and Great Britain (only one 8 point rdier per team), on course to weaken thier leagues. It will only prove to put supporters off, seeing the weaker teams, just prue madness, I think. The Swedish league must now be regarded as the strongest league, next season.

When I sadi that Arthur Atkinson was favourite, I was just mentionong what the press said at the time. I also think that Cordy Milne would have won. Afterall he had the bonus point advantage, and a liking for the Wembley track. But thnanks to Mr. Hitler we'll never know for certain.

Excellent race card willstaxi. I did notice that you didn't have the reserve riders names. They were 17. Malcolm Craven (4) and 18. Frank Gouldon (3), both of England. Bonus points in brackets, though reserves wouldn't have carried their bonus points to the final. Shame that the meeting wasn't raced. Arthur Atkinson was the favorite. Many thanks

Many thanks this has been a great help
-
Thanks for that, but the riders are listed in gate postions red, blue, white and yellow. This is what was printed in the 'Speedway News' Lionel Van Praag does have three races in four heats namely (8, 10 & 11)

Thanks for the help
