The worst thing is that those of us that have questioned GI's motives and expressed concern across the past ten years or so over whether the stadium would ever be built were just badmouthed and cussed out by other fans and parts of the management for being 'negative' Sadly, the chickens have now come home to roost.

Cardiff 2019 Saturday September 21st
Adder replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This is absurd. A lot of speedway fans are also football fans and this is now going to be right in the football season. They'll lose thousands off of the attendance scheduling this in September. -
National League level I guess.
-
Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I understand a Bristol select side have asked if they can run some meetings at the Abbey this year.

Swindon V Coventry Select Thur 4th Sep

Havvy messed up by leaving Sarge in Heat 9. We assumed Garrity would have been brought in so were well pleased when the change wasn't made! -

Swindon V Coventry Select Thur 4th Sep
Adder replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The last ever Thursday night meeting at The Abbey tonight and possibly ever if the mythical new stadium doesn't arrive. Should be a straightforward home win given Coventry's absentees. -
11 of the 15 races were won from gate 4 tonight. A huge bias.

Just over 24 hours before this meeting and no thread so here goes. It does appear that 4th spot could well be between these two sides so Swindon do neex to get the better of KL over the home and away meetings tomorrow and next week. Any team news folks?

2016 Sgp Swc Calendar & Info's

I thought the capacity at Belle Vue was going to be around 5,000 not 25,000 ? -
Had a rain shower an hour ago but according to the BBC forecast no further rain expected this evening and the sun is supposed to come out soon. And the rain currently west of Swindon is moving north so it should be a dry night at Blunsdon.

Thought I caught a bit of 'I'm the leader...' before the 'waddy came on.

Don't hear Gary Glitter very often these days.

The coverage is frankly dreadful.

Does anyone know where the Fanzone is going to be located this year? It didn't work in it's new location last year between the bus station and a busy road so i'm hoping it'll be back on St Mary's Street.

Aha. Cheers. Won't be in HD then which is a shame.

According to the Radio Times this meeting is not being broadcast live on Eurosport but instead is being shown as one hours highlights at 11pm.

Sgp Challenge Final Sat 20th Sept

When is the GP Challenge final? Can't immediately see the date on here anywhere. Ta. -
To be fair, the cameraman on the start line at the Race Off last Thursday did his best to get some 'up the skirt' shots of the Monster girls. Gave me a 2 minute warning at one stage!

Swc Event 2 Sweden. 29/7/14
Adder replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The pecking order should be established early tonight with the Danes easing through, Sweden and Latvia comfy in 2nd and 3rd and the Spinka Army tailed off in 4th. Could turn into a bit of a non-event really but hope i'm wrong! -
Sheffield Vs Somerset Pl On Sky 28/07
Adder replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That is very good news then. Must admit I feared the worst last night. -
I thought the intro in the Stadium was innovative and well done. Only (very minor) gripes I may have is that the PA/music wasn't loud enough (I was sat top tier back straight) and the firework display seems to get shorter by the year. As I posted earlier in this thread Fanzone was a mess and needs to be moved back to St Mary's Street but apart from these few minor issues I thought overall it was a very good production.

Agree with comments about the Fanzone. I assumed the road was to be closed with the Fanzone more spread out. It was far too cramped shoehorned into a 20 meter wide pavement by the bus station. Hope they move it back to St Mary's Street next year.
