But what did we lose last year, a season when riders weren't paid on time and there was a real risk we wouldn't see out the season?
-
Do what we've done now probably. But I wouldn't be moaning that other clubs should be doing us favours or asking for rules to ensure everyone is down at our level. The club was in the PL for four years, I don't recall them all being 'suicide'. We know the club lost money under Patchett, but do you know what the costs were in that year - did he lose more money than Luty and Philips last season? In what way is spending another season in the EL, which based on last years evidence we can't afford to be in, any less 'suicidal' than being in the PL?
-
Sorry, but can't agree. If we can't afford to be competitive in the league then we shouldn't be in it. The reason Mildenhall were shocking was that they were in over their heads and couldn't keep up, that was tough luck on them, as it is on us.

Where did Steve say 'loads of money deal'?
-
Other than that classic night in Manchester of course. But you're right, for Poole that barely registers on the Fraud-meter.
-
He's got away with it for years now so nothing will change there.
-
Injuries, and avoiding them, are part of the sport. There've been any talented riders who haven't fulfilled potential because of injuries.
-
This 'my dad is bigger than you dad' argument is boring - Fact. They're both great riders, wait till they've both retired and see where they ended up.

You've racked up yet another Whoosh. You should get in touch with the Guinness book of records.

It's a cold January night, the rain is teeming down and I'm back to work tomorrow. We have a 4 week old baby so sleep is never going to be perfect. But thanks for giving me a laugh with this hysterical titbit.

TNT's whole post was hypothetical so it doesn't really matter.
-
You and he are like two sides of the same coin, every single point applies to you too.
-
You're getting it all wrong. Just say you're from Poole speedway, they have all the best sponsors who are quite literally falling over themselves to throw money at the club. At least that's what a couple of posters on here are always telling us.
-
It'd be great, but he won't get it. Diluted league or not he'll struggle to get above 7 at best.
-
Where does he say there is anything wrong with it?
-
He needs to, he was utterly awful for much of last season.
-
I'm sure it has but speedway attendances have been dropping, irrespective of the state of the economy, for many years.
-
Exactly, let's weaken the product but charge the same amount, that should have the punters flooding in. Yes, costs will reduce, but how much will income reduce?
-
But we knew, giving the obvious budget restrictions, that we weren't going to get anyone decent anyway. The season starts in March, the team will have been announced by then. I understand the clamour (well, a handful if posts) for info, but in seasons past the announcement of signings has been dripped out over a couple of months. Whatever happens, it's hard to see a season consisting of anything other than struggling in the lower reaches.

And that's the edited version, a triumph of minimalism.
-
Well they haven't pulled up Hans Andersen and he's been doing it for years.

Apologies Squire, I'll be in the grounds if needed.
