  1. I don't think Leicester look anything special, good top 3 but nothing to get excited about after that.
  2. I've got no idea why everyone seems convinced that Sheffield will be bottom, overcome with some Tigers fans doom and gloom I think. Sheffields team is utterly dull and uninspired but will finish between 7th and 10th I reckon. It's certainly nowhere near as bad as Bowden's latest effort at a PL team.
  3. Sadly, 1997 is an awful long time ago. Brent Werner has looked like a completely spent force for quite some time, he had an average spell at Somerset and that's about it. I doubt he will make his average or see out the season.
  4. I agree Ben, problem is Len hasn't shown much enthusiasm for change lately. You had a great team in 2007 but it's been steadily downhill from there. Shame, as I always looked forward to the visit of Rye in the PL, always felt like a 'big' meeting.
  5. And on another thread he is carping on about Bees fans being arrogant about possibly winning at Swindon. He gets himself in so many knots with his constant anti-Coventry drivel. He can't even keep up with his own nonsense.
  6. I don't condone Kennett and he deserves whatever comes his way but the pious statements from a (usual) few on here grate rather. Kennett might be the one who got caught but you can bet this has been a widespread practise, as Ben Barker stated when interviewed tonight at Perry Barr "There's been a lot of new exhausts bought this week!"
  7. Good comments, the corner banks give a good view but it was perilous walking around. FWIW I don't think it's right to criticise the track after yesterday. Yes, the racing was non-existent but after the rain it took I don't believe any track in the country would be any different. The Popple person was unbelievably annoying, now sitting at number 2 in my list of annoying centre green announcers, behind Porkie at Wolves. I didn't need to be called a 'methanol fan' in between each heat, along with constant reminders of how we were watching 'great racing' and 'fantastic speedway', when we clearly weren't seeing anything of the sort. I understand that these people have to big up the action but please don't treat us as idiots.
  8. It's doing my head in! I've had to mute it, the Norman Collier style commentary was too much.
  9. Indeed, even as we speak a corner of the carpet is being lifted and a large broom produced.
  10. Except that with speedway's ridiculous and endless tinkering with rules to suit one party or another it's only putting the genie back in the bottle.
  11. Believe me, I read them. They have barely disguised their glee at the thought of Coventry not being present in 2011.
  12. Do you mean that until now you thought that it was an honorable and noble institution. Oh dear, that's like finding out Santa doesn't exist.
  13. And this post nicely sums up the fact that many supporters mistakenly think that the BSPA is entirely democratic and that all decisions are made in an entirely fair manner.
  14. It's definitely orange, we should get a dulux colour chart anhd check Either way it would look better if it actually was gold.
  15. Indeed, someone should update the Wolves page to state that they race in Orange and Black (which they clearly do!).
  16. If true (and great news if it is) there's a few fools on here who'll be gutted.
  17. I like Wizzer as much as the next Brummies fan but I'm not sure he'd be the man for the job at the mo, think we need a steady hand on the tiller.
  18. I thought that Newman and Johnno are technically assets of Gary Patchett but has stated that we can have first dibs on them if we want. Could be wrong mind as the more I read on here the more I doubt my own mind. Either way Newman would be a great signing whilst Johnno can go elsewhere for me. Looks like a rider on a downward spiral and last year could always be relied upon to produce a poor ride just when we didn't need him to.
  19. You're right with the second half of your post but Newport have built a promising team for the last 2 seasons and the crowds still haven't come. A succesful season would undoubtedly bring in a few more bodies but it seems pretty unlikely that hordes of Newport fans are busting to get through the gates as soon as there's a winning run.
