  1. He was at Birmingham too. All this business about his financial life is for the promoters to worry about, IMO, not fans.
  2. No: Thomsen showed plenty of potential in his last two matches: 10 against Scunthorpe, including winning Heat 1. Agertoft has shown that he can win Heat 2; if he spends the winter learning to gate, he will be worth a punt. Both are Brummies assets.
  3. He had a slow start due to machinery problems and injuries, but he more than proved himself in the last half a dozen matches: he won the last one for us, and saved the draw against Scunthorpe by a sensational pass of both riders. At the end of the last Perry Barr match, he came round the fans shaking hands with us.
  4. Gary Flint's job is to big up his team. In any case, the Bandits lost to the team at the bottom of the league as it turned out, but not in that match the worst team as demonstrated. There was never any danger that Berwick would win; the final result flattered them as they managed to get 4-2s in the last two heats.
  5. He hurt it at Edinburgh but kept riding in all 3 away matches.
  6. Agreed - the referee ruined the match, just as another incompetent did in the away matches at Berwick and Newcastle. Would you believe that all six Scunthorpe riders were on a warning? Plus some Brummies ... Having said that, it was a great match, despite the weather. Really good to see the emergence of Tobias Thomsen, who scored 10.
  7. He is representing his country in an international competition, why not? Donkeys' years ago, we had a guest for Arthur Browning, who was representing GB in an international trials comp!
  8. It must have been bloody awful then. I was there and I was not impressed at all.
  9. If you think that was 'fantastic', then you are easily pleased. It looked awful to me; not nearly as good as Berwick or Newcastle.
  10. Don't use a satnav: this will have you wandering round the back end of Aston. Go up the M6 to junction 7, then it's two miles south along the A34. I park outside the warehouses before the flyover; you don't have to find your way round the island to the One Stop and don't have to cross the roads.
  11. It was actually that given the weather forecast, the promotion were waiting to give an announcement. There is no need for you to be as offensive as the other person.
  12. About 18 months ago, sombody was having hysterics about Lawrence Rogers, who reduced the entrance for Plymouth (NL) to £10 for a season. According to this person, the only effect was that the club lost loads of money. Still, I hope that it works at Berwick!
  13. Given that the weather forecast at the moment is rain all today and tomorrow, they are probably waiting to decide whether it is on or not. Isn't it a bit early to start whinging?
  14. No I wasn't, merely commenting on how the press release read to me.
  15. Reading the Redcar press release, it seems perhaps that Ben had a falling out with someone up there?
  16. It is hardly the place of the Speedway Star, or the BSPA, or the SCB, to behave like a silly woman on BSF, and assume, without the slightest evidence, that a promoter is lying.
  17. Thank you ... I notice that 'GWC' hasn't replied! He was presumably referring to Paco's low score at Sheffield, after he had just driven a thousand miles from Bavaria overnight. I for one wasn't expecting much from him.
  18. Which one? One hasn't turned a wheel yet, and the other was top of the averages a few days ago ...
