Birmingham Are Running In 2023

If you actually went there, you would see plenty of younger people going. The trick is to pursuade them to keep going IMO. -

I wasn't applying for the job. Why do you have to be offensive? -

Why? I don't see that anyone else could have done better. -

Well, not me ... I checked on Speedway Updates at 9 pm and thought, 42 - 42, that can't be right, someone has made a typo ... check the heat scores ... and it was right! -

You Are Not Allowed to say 'blackboard'; they call it the 'chalkboard' these days. -

20? it was only one quotation, from an expert multi-talented motorcyclist. And how do you know what I would understand or not? You have no idea who I am. Please stop your own ignorance, which you seem determined to display. -

Then they should have taken Arthur Browning's advice to 'man up, and get on with it'. -
Yes, however poor the Brummies were in the late 70s - and they were - we always finished above Leicester in the league! As for Swindon: I remeber a match in which their two top riders (Jan Anderson and Martin Ashby?) took RR and TS in just about every heat, and scored about 30 between them; and the Brummies still won! As for the summer: we have been bleating about the heat for the last two days. In 1976 it was like that for three months ... I used to go out to work with a gallon of orange juice, drank the lot and never peed a drop. Sweated it all out!

Well, we'll have him back next year!

Birmingham vs Plymouth 13/7/22 CJL

Just read the match report in the Plymouth web site. An absolute masterpiece in sour grapes ... -
We have never heard of anyone's side ... only that he had decided not to turn up. No one has said why? The promotion has said that they always paid the riders, so what was it?
-
It wasn't bad, best crowd for a long time, and not all Sweaties either.

You'll be lucky. When Birmingham folded in 2015, it turned out that the administrators pocketed all of the cash: the season ticket holders got sod all.
-
Annoying, of course!
-
No! What is the use of this? The whole point of speedway is that you can see the whole race. It's inside a stadium; you don't need to be told what you are seeing.

Birmingham v Redcar 22,06,22 Wednesday

Well, the usual suspects were wrong tonight! -
Tonight's result shows that there is no need for changes when the team all ride to their best.
-
Auty back end of July; they would be mad to swap Shanes for Wright! (It's James who rode for Newcastle ...)
-
Brandon was always a tip for years. While the grandstand will probably have to go, it is not essential: everything else which is needed is still there. There are few enough plush stadiums used for speedway.
-
Not really; it was only the heat leaders who kept Plymouth in the match, and Birmingham should never have given away two of the 5-1s.
