  1. Aahhhh, but you did post some anti-English stuff that got deleted. You do have a rep for it. Whether, its true on this thread is another story. I don't think so, but it does go before you when you posted that 2 weeks ago.
  2. Brilliant Story...just isn't true though. What next? AJ was 'found' at Coventry train station busking??! Everyone loves this type of story though!
  3. Spot on. 100% agree. I think he has been swayed by what he has seen over recent years in the PL. I would have had both Nicholls and Richardson IN! I wanted to give Rob Lyon a chance, but he has shot himself, not just in the foot, but the head. I was at Peterborough earlier this season, Olly Allen was the best British Coventry rider, Kennett only got a couple of points. Harris wasn't much better. Oh dear.
  4. Pointless comment. Maybe his reputation goes before him, however, rather than seeing Coventry fans defending him blindly for the second consecutive year, it would be nice to see them wondering what he was doing there, putting himself about when he is apparently injured. If any claims can be proven, I would like Coventry/BSPA to review his conduct and involvement with club and country. When at a Speedway event, he is representing both the club and country, is he the Joey Barton of speedway? Either way, I expect people to defend him blindly again. He has got a useful average after all Snyper has not been adverse to posting some anti-English stuff that got edited/removed. However, I have to defend Edinburgh fans here. Firstly, I do not see how Speedibee - who usually posts sensible comments - can call for Scotland's independence based on the behaviour of a few Scottish fans. I would like to see consistency, and he should call for Cornwall's independence on the grounds of Barker's behaviour?? I didn't see any bad behaviour from Edinburgh fans, but bringing nationality into it, gone too far! I also don't think people should read too much into music....again, you are over-thinking the situation! I think people should be criticising the choice of the song when riders fall off, than the "Come on England". Surely, Speedway fans should condemn that one first? I think its in bad taste, anyway. Snyper - there is a Scot(t) in the GP.
  5. So are you suggesting he has an indifferent approach to the PL as a result?? The Elite League is not a fair reflection of Top Men in terms of Speedway World Cup standard. On a more general point about the squad, I find it scary the depth of squad that Australia could assemble right now. Especially the likes of Darcy Ward and other teenage Aussies. Even though Tai is ours, he has come through the Aussie system....so my question is: how can Australia produce this conveyer belt of talent? When you consider excuses for team GB have included 'too many foreigners in the EL', yet Australia doesn't have an EL or GP, but can still attract the talented kids to pursue it as a career.
  6. And the same Jordan who got 2 on Wednesday at KL for Newport in the PL? Rob Lyon would have seen that? Same Jordan who got 5 on Sunday? Morris has had 2 meetings in the EL? In days gone by, that doesn't constitute publishing an average.
  7. COMPLETELY Agree! Agree, with these two posts...he needed to make a start from Gate 3, and HAD to go for it. Ref was terrible, holding starts. Good night from Nicholls, plenty of positives. I also do not think people can complain to much at Nicki P; it was the referee who made the decisions. Every rider in the GPs stay down in a first bend bunch situation; and all would also take their place in a re-run.
  8. The point is only: your quote regarding 30 GPs, is RUBBISH. Your quotes about Nicholls not being near winning is RUBBISH. Best finish 2nd for Nicholls, 3rd for Holta prior to last night. This is nothing to do with 'lets compare Holta and Nicholls', more to do with your 'lucky to get 30 GPs if he wasn't British', I am picking up on this point, much to your obvious discomfort! Whatever way you want to twist, and turn, you are wrong, yet you cannot just hold your hands up. Its funny. I am going to leave it here, as the quotes tell the full story. You petty little hatred towards one rider is pathetic, and your quote are very wrong. Its a shame, because mostly you have good value with opinions, but this time you are wrong, and its clouding your better sense of making judgements.
  9. How is he lucky? Good question, I do not think so, but....... Because, my dear friend Subedei, you said so! What with Rune having 50 GPs to his name. And prior to last night, Scott Nicholls has been closer to winning a GP than Rune Holta, a rider I admire greatly! It also shows age not to be a barrier!
  10. I know its 50. So by your previous quote, he is lucky be there. I refer to your statement regarding 30 GPs.
  11. Wasn't it a Pole, formerly known as a Norwegian, that won last night? How many GPs to his name has it taken to win a GP? Its not 60, but its certainly more than the 30 you are quoting.....and he ain't British. Scott is worthy of a place in the top 15 of the world.
  12. And your point is? There is no need to defend Nicholls or anyone else. Getting through a meeting like this, as someone else pointed out, seemed to be as big a result as anything. 7 points is certainly no disgrace. Not everyone can be number 1 in the world; but we need a line up of 16, and I do not think you can argue with the fact that Scott Nicholls is in the best 16 riders of the world, certainly in the top 2 in GB. End of Story. Last season, you were talking up KK; and he has found it difficult - Harris settled in better. Then again, given your allegiences to the a certain track that doesn't do a great deal for British talent....is it any wonder! At least you make me laugh with half of your 12,000 posts; you are valued entertainment, keep it up!
  13. Firstly, I hope all injured riders are OK. Its a very strange event where half the field crash at some point! The Gollob-Jonsson incident apart, I do not think this topic would have reached 21 pages, if the track had been a billiard table smooth surface. In fact, it may have only for the pure fact the racing would have been dull. It would have been flat out, go from gate stuff. The fact remains that, only the brave get rewards in difficult surfaces. You have to use your brain and throttle, or accept the risks for the potential rewards. Whether we like it or not, Adams fell into the first category, Lindgren into the second, and well done for him doing so. Hans Andersen fell into the second, but came a cropper doing so. The track was bad, developing holes, but if it was a British - deep in shale - track, then ruts also appear readily in these surfaces too. I think the comparision has also been drawn to the ELRC and Pairs meetings. As Richardson says, 14 may not want to ride, but there will also be 2 or 3 that do. Ultimately, it was the same track for everyone: some used their brains, some took risks, some got unlucky. I compare it to F1, where some of the reputations have been made for performances in difficult surfaces to that of NASCAR, or IndyCar, where a spot of rain pulls out the yellow flags. I do think the track was too big. The speeds into the corners were far greater than other poor surfaces that we have seen before. The straights were 'thin'; and I felt after 4 races it would either be very dull or cut up like a temporary track does and provide another aspect or angle to be considered. On Gollob-Jonsson, I think it was a racing incident, and the rider in the lead can choose the line. People say he turned early, but he put in a decent bend, whereas I would expect to drift out if he had turned early. On Nigel Pearson - it really confused me that for a good while, I believed that Freddie Lindgren had won the GP. Surely this is the most basic of rules to get your head around. One race at the end of the meeting, the winner wins the GP? no? Where has he been for all the other GPs???? On the Brits, well there are 8 more rounds to go....if Nicholls had stayed on in his 4th ride, he would have been in the semi's. He needs to make starts. I think in the EL, he can get away with it, because the EL is very poor this season for quality riders. He has been the same for a year now, the British Final last year, he was spinning too much on the gate, yet he did have a good 2nd half of the GP season after Cardiff. Harris, I just hope he sticks at it. Lets face it, he is not becoming as detached as Lindback did in races, and is consistently picking up points, albeit 6's and 5's. He may argue his target last year was 4's and 5's so its progress. Stick at it, because they are the best 2 Brits at the moment!
  14. He was dropped after poor meeting, only a fool would think it was on Richardson's terms. Idiot.
  15. Any useful knowledge you may divulge on this forum is negated by your personal diatribes towards Scott Nicholls. Lets face it, in April you called Lee Richardson as the British Number 1, based on his performances in Poland. The same week he got dropped by his Polish team. You will make an argument to suit your own ends, but that is it. How many semi's did Lee get to? You also seem to watch Speedway via TV or internet at the highest level? How many EL matches have you been to? How many GPs have you been to? Well I went to Eskilstuna when your so-called British Number 1 went 0,0,0,0, oh and, 0.
  16. Tell that to a rider that is injured or sacked or owed money from dodgy promotions...they are all self-employed, and so can pick and choose whether they want to be in SGP or not. I don't think any get paid a living wage when the s**t hits the fan Interestingly, I think Davey Watt has entered the SGP qualifiers against Poole's wishes. However, its his decision...
  17. Well we could insert the name, "Super Sevens" for SGP, BSI/IMG. How a Premier League track seemed to get more than a fair share of glamour EL riders; and how the same riders dropped like flies (presumeably after knowing what the pay rates were). Clever though....Seems that the clueless bunch who run Speedway in this country DID cotton on this year, as their income from the shared events was lower than previous years!
  18. Bit like King's Lynn or any other Promoters of the sport. Technically using riders to get you through the gate in exchange for money?
  19. Re-read what you said, essentially Nicholls was crap even before the rain? Well, he had 2 rides of his 3 prior to the rain from Gate 3. Only a couple of riders were ever going to 'not be' crap from there.
  20. Yes, Nicki and Hans were the class apart, and the only 2 to register wins from the outside. How did Gollob earn his last 2 rides to be from Gate 1 prior to the semis? Of course it was the luck of the draw.
  21. Before the rain, Scott had 3 rides - all from Gates 3 and 4. Bjarne Pedersen was dreadful considering he had 2 rides from Gate 1.
  22. Exactly, the purpose of Green Sheets without Bonus Points is misleading IF it is going to be used for International selections....Its wrong! I also agree with you, Colin, on WC selection. Its disappointing though that a cock up has been done as well.
