  1. Congratulations Chris Holder, an excellent World Champion.
  2. Well done to the Hornets, thoroughly enjoyed this meeting. Some very good racing. These Hornets boys seem to be punching above their weight at the moment with wins over Hackney and Mildenhall recently.
  3. Some very talented riders on show today, good meeting and those 40+ heats were well pushed through. Very enjoyable to go over and watch the youngsters of the future making their way in the sport.
  4. I always enjoyed watching Marc when he rode for the Hornets last year he is a real young talent. Lets hope next season is much better for him injury wise than this and that he has a swift recovery.
  5. I guess its well done to the Hornets, but first of all I hope that both the lads are alright.
  6. James did do really well today he rode his guts out. The Hornets with just the 5 riders fended off the Weymouth team really well after they took an 8-1 in a tactical ride off us too. A bit of a coming together on the 3/4th turn for Kyle Newman who seemed to lock up and collected Tom Young who came off worst in the spill. Kyle looked ok up and about however Tom was taken off to hospital with possible rib injuries. So a good win for the Hornets who could quite easily of lost heart losing two riders, it goes to show great character in the team that they went on to win so well.
  7. Agreed, the ref had been pulling the riders back everytime they tried to anticipate the start and even disqualified James White Williams for him doing it twice in one heat (sure he didn't touch the tapes second time). So for the ref to allow a really obvious jump of the tapes by Kyle Hughes was very surprising.
  8. Well done the Hornets, good meeting tonight with some good racing too. Probably the hardest meeting the Hornets have ridden, however they suffered quite a few mechanical gremlins. In the end Mark Jones and Tony Atkin were much too good for the Cobras.
  9. The Waspies forum is an unofficial forum set up for the use of the fans who love the Wasps its intention was never to rival any other forum as it is a members only forum, therefore aimed at people who really want to know what the fans think about their team, mainly Newport fans who are already there on a Sunday. However there are quite a few people who prefer to post on there than on here because it is generally posted in a light hearted fashion and people like playing with the emoticons. As someone posted on there the official business should be posted by the press officier in the appropriate places. I would think that telling people what to do does not come across well. And it is far more advisable to let supporters post where they like. And just to make it quite clear THE NEWPORT SUPPORTERS LOVE THE HORNETS!!!!!
  10. No point having winks and smileys get the news out there, so many positives to report when all we have heard is negativity lately mainly aimed at the loyal supporters of Newport.
  11. It's not a rumour I've just been over there and seen the guys putting them in!
  12. Everything the commentators say on the broadcasts the average fan knows about all the riders so it becomes very tedious when it is repeatedly mentioned. I'd rather hear things that aren't common knowledge, its always good to get the riders aspect on the racing/mehcanical side. How about giving us a fans zone option for an alternative?
  13. Seems a surprising move but we'll look after him at Newport, we thought the world of his brother too and lets hope he has a really successful season.
  14. Its on at the Stadium, Hayley Stadium that is. We have a SWARM evening every grand prix meeting to raise funds for the team. The Grand Prix will be shown on a huge screen, admission is £2 which goes towards the SWARM fund for the riders fuel, tyres etc. Food is also available, and highly recommended for £2.50. Doors open at 5pm for a 6pm start, always a good atmosphere and a great place to get involved in the GP with other speedway fans.
  15. Does this mean that anyone with a bog standard Sky box won't be able to go to the red button?
  16. He's riding for Newport Hornets today vs. Plymouth at reserve. He had a spin on Friday evening after Newport vs Glasgow, and spent his evening watching the GP up in the bar with his dad, Wato and some Newport supporters.
  17. And we'll make sure that you get the welcome home you deserve at Newport
  18. Has the wildcard for this Grand Prix been announced yet?
  19. Great watching the youngsters really racing the track today, look forward to seeing some of them back at Newport soon if possible.
  20. For anyone who's interested there is a Premier Travel Inn/Lodge being built opposite Newport train station, should be ready by the next Cardiff Grand Prix.
  21. Because he rode well tonight with an obvious injury. And he did say that he would be having sugery in the winter and would carry on riding unless he had another big crash. Puk had been riding well in the GPs up until he got his injury even making a final and looked a different rider this time around.
  22. Gutted for Puk, he tried so hard carrying his injury and deserved to be in the top 3. I thought the feed was fantastic on the internet and throughly enjoyed it plus the commentary was 10 times better than Skys!
