  1. There was a lot of publicity last week about Adam Roynon starting his comeback with various practice sessions, but I've not heard anything since, anyone know how he got on?
  2. It was early on in season, but towards end it was approaching best it had been for quite a few years, one can only keep fingers crossed it will be a similar pattern this season --BUT the sooner the better!!
  3. Lasse off 1, Richard off 2, Richard gated just ahead, moved to clamp Lasse on first bend, Lasse having non of that - kept going hard into bend and pushed/hit Richard who then went across track and slid (gently) into fence - could possibly have stayed on, but obviously went down to get rerun - To be fair to Lasse he never moved off inside line , but to be fair to Richard - it was a hefty bump - think it came out of Nicki Pedersen 1st bend manoeuvres. All four back - fair decision although have seen inside rider kicked out for similar moves, I think the fact that Richard didn't fall immediately after contact was the key. Once Richard got sorted he went back to pits, jumped off bike and went to confront Lasse who was off bike just outside pit gate, Mechanics/officials intervened and sent Richard away, Lasse just looked him and walked away - only handbag out was from Richard. BUT in rerun Richard gated and was bike and a half clear going into first bend - would suggest Glasgow TM winds him up more often if he wants to get a class gate out of him!!
  4. Interesting - I don't quite share your optimism, but you never know!!
  5. Doctors have said 6 months - is medical science another of your hidden talents and therefore you have a different opinion??
  6. Maybe Glasgow should have looked to Lassie Bjerre, Rene Bark & Benji Compton as their guests then
  7. I think Kus showed plenty of commitment last night, so I'm happy he will be "bothered" Sadly based on everything else from last night I can't argue with any other points you make
  8. and for those who don't know our area - that means bloody freezing!! Wrap up well!
  9. Very Best Wishes to Kenneth & family
  10. I was going to highlight Rafa, but then reread DSC67's statement and thought he was probably right anyway!
  11. Probably practising for the fours final If Rafa makes our team for the Fours final we'll be having a top season and the most improved rider
  12. You're right it's about two weeks too early - !yawn! back to bed for a while
  13. Whilst I agree totally with the sentiment of getting riders to progress, the flaw in that argument is the riders who are doubling up who are not going to be the future of British speedway - for example Stuart Robson, who before commenting further let me state I have no objection to him doubling in both leagues and good luck to him just picked on him for ageist reasons. His motivation - I would suggest - is powered by the desire to have more meetings and therefore opportunity to earn more money, I would have difficulty in accepting an argument that riding in high league is going to make him a better rider and improve him for the future! There is an argument for suggesting that riders like Robson/King/Kennett/Allen/Stead are in fact doubling DOWN as they have spent full seasons wholly riding EL and reverted to PL as their main league (Robert Lambert would also be in this category and he does actually go against my point!). Maybe criteria is for riders like these PL takes priority and those on the way up in their careers have EL as priority?? Another radical and commonsense suggestion is why not alternate with priority on clashes so first time rider goes in EL next PL etc - OR give priority to club with home meeting as they should not have both got home meetings on same night - if so revert to alternate idea as with clashes on both away meetings
  14. Get some of the Summers money spent and buy him from Lakeside, that resolves all issues!!
  15. Can't wait to hear Mr Garrity's "official" reason for wanting to move at such a late stage of close season!! Seems very strange when you have a team place to give it up and, presumably, just ride EL, as all other teams are full and of course are not allowed to approach riders already contracted to teams
  16. Ipswich have signed the Italian/Argentinian Covatti, I assume madsteve is referring to the Argentinian/Italian Covatti, who coincidently has the same average!
