  1. So what do other panthers fans think of Grondal? From an armchair view looking at stats he only beat three opponents, one a retiree and the other two who couldn't beat anyone who actually finished! Am I being harsh with that assessment, I understand he has had some practice round EOES so you would expect him to be reasonably quick, but riding round after meetings is a different ball game to having to gate against 3 others and also riding after two heats and not the full 15 gives different track conditions. He is never going to adequately replace Allen (this season) but will he aide or hinder your quest for honours??
  2. From updates new Dane Anderson looked to have done ok 5+2 from 3 completed rides!
  3. I refer you to 2792 - simple answer No Also it has now been stated Roynon is at Redcar for the remainder of the season so you can forget him from future team change deliberations. Have faith Konopka will come good
  4. Ok making the stats work for my argument - Reserves replaced Davies in three of his rides so by scoring 5 points they actually averaged 6.66 - Davies got 0 from 1 averaging zero on the night However I was basing my comment on the evidence of opening rides - Davies was that far behind in last place that I, and many others never saw him come off as we were looking at front three!! Wilson and Lunna were arguably the best and most consistent Scorpions on show Should have added - Best wishes to Alex, hope he hasn't picked up an injury, or too sore this morning
  5. you could argue that your post should replace "despite" with "helped by"
  6. Am hearing a rumour you have made a signing to replace Allen, following the realisation of how restricted options are, this is very much expected I would say
  7. Absolutely no idea, again the ruling is quite clear A Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 points MA for 7 Riders. It must also not exceed 42.50 points when re-declared (permanent or temporary) except where the MA of the introduced Rider is equal to, or lower than the Rider being replaced. So if you replace any one single rider in a change of your team you can use all of his current average for the new rider - ie in this case Allen - 8.51 to utilise, but any "unused" points are lost - so if you brought in a 7point rider then decided in a months time to replace him, you can only replace up to 7points not the previous 8.51 If you decide to replace more than one rider in a change then you can replace individually as described above for example bring in an 8 point man for Allen plus Grondal (7.00) for Lambert (7.26) plus Luke Bowen (4.00) for Simon Lambert (5.04) etc. BUT if the averages are both not lower than rider they are replacing then you have to have whole seven declared riders coming back under the 42.50 limit, so again on current averages if you decide to ditch Allen and say Konopka - total actual averages 11.51, because to have to fall back under limit you only can use 9.94 total to replace them (eg a 6 point rider and a 3.94 rider) this is taking off the 1.57 your current team is over the initial limit. Apologies for all the numbers , but I have tried to make this as simple as possible and hope it helps to clarify for those who are totally baffled and bemused by the whole scenario. Good Luck!
  8. Thank you, whilst I sympathise with both Peterborough & Jacob Thorsell - I am pleased that a rule, which to me is quite clear, has been implemented, its unfortunate some others haven't! And if it is true the vote was split then it just reinforces the need for clear unambiguous rules with an independent person overseeing and enforcing them.
  9. The way I read the rule was that anyone with a starting average of over 6 was ineligible to get a converted PL average for the whole season. I think this is all related to the rule that you had to have an EL average from previous season to be eligible to double up/down (ie why Lambert was barred from joining Newcastle last year). I agree that common sense dictates thorsell should be available to ride, but with the ridiculous riding system in EL nowadays this can lead to averages becoming totally unrealistic depending on if you are in top 3 or not (hence easy/hard rides). Anyway - good luck to him, I think he will find PL a bit tougher than expected
  10. If this is true, then it appears rules have been ignored again When looking to convert an EL riders average to PL rules state 18.6.4 If a Rider has only an EL Established MA from the previous season, which must not exceed 6.00, then a conversion is necessary; the EL MA is multiplied by 1.4. Thorsell's end of season average was 6.25 - which by my reading of this rule means he is ineligible to double down, regardless of his current average, which has now dropped below 6.
  11. Can't see why Peterborough would need to object, surely team submitted (if including Greenwood) would just get rejected by BSPA as having a rider not eligible ??
  12. Roynon announced tonight he is at Redcar for rest of season
  13. Report says Hawkins gets on well with TM except for at meetings, from a neutral outsider's viewpoint maybe he would have been better off by foregoing captaincy and looking to concentrate on getting his own performances up to where you all think him capable, let TM get on and manage the team and don't worry about what he is doing. Maybe it is more to do with him losing rides??
  14. It really highlights the farcical way the sport is governed as baldy says why have "may" in any rule book, make it quite clear when the rule will be implemented. I agree imo Glasgow did not try and manipulate the averages, however due to Sarjeant missing so many matches through doubling up he did remain on his assessed average for an "abnormal" length of time compared to the matches ridden (likewise Lambert at Peterborough). Now if rule was clarified to say a new average would be implemented if a rider missed x amount of matches and team decided to redeclare then it would be clear to everyone. What I would be very interested to hear is when MC would deem it appropriate to use the rule??
  15. Not by my understanding of the team building rules - if you re declared now you would have Allen's 8.51 + Greenwood's 3.00 = 11.51 less 1.57 (difference between team total of 44.07 & permitted 42.50) giving you 9.94 for 2 riders so with Bowen say on 4.00 you have 5.94 left. To get Grondal in he would have to be Allen's replacement and then bring in another 3 pointer for Greenwood so you are not redeclaring just replacing like for like. Can't see this changing much in July's figures and once Lambert gets correct average situation will get considerably worse. Personally I think your management will have to go for a 3 point man at no.7 and my money is on Konopka!! (or Phillips )
  16. But won't happen - Panthers haven't enough points to make those two changes
  17. Morley and Graversen were NOT in several I was referring to - can't commemt on effort but from updates and results Morley totally exceeded what was expected/required from him!!
  18. Public thank you to Steve Worrall for turning up and giving Edinburgh fans some value for their admission fee, Seems several Bears couldn't be arsed tonight!!!
  19. What wrong with Kus?? Has the FIM said he can miss any matches for 24 hours due to watching Julie Lewis memorial trophy on live updates?
  20. My thought is fantastic to see Rusty back riding - when I read about accident and injuries I was convinced he would be out for season and probably quit altogether - Good Luck to him, hope it goes well
  21. It wasn't intended as a joke, it was a very serious posting!
  22. So you are saying "may" actually means "we will if the rider is increasing average, but we won't if he is decreasing it"
