  1. What is the difference between a double upper and a double downer?
  2. I thought eligibility was straight forward: Is the rider a- British b- eligible to ride in NL c - got a current PL average of 3.00 or less (or never got an average) if all 3 answers are yes then they can take no 7 berth
  3. I think you may be looking at someone with strong family connections in the sport
  4. Interesting choice - have to say he did impress me when he rode in a few meetings at Redcar - possibly one of the new riders with greatest potential to improve, but maybe starting behind a few of the others.
  5. Is Kennett not an asset of Rye House? If so, and the criteria remains same, then PL team would have priority in fixtures so he wouldn't miss any matches
  6. Think it is more likely to be Lasse Bjerre 8.30 Rohan Tungate 7.74 Mikkel B Andersen: 7.00 Hugh Skidmore: 6.84 Jonas B Anderson: 5.60 Jan Graversen 3.83 3pt Brit 3.00 42.31 You could have Matej Kus in as third heatleader and still be under points limit, but I feel he is unlikely to be back in 2016
  7. So therefore rather than a swop with Tungate and Grondal " more likely Tungate for Konopka" Does that make it clearer
  8. Two simple rule changes 1. Ref has discretion to put riders on a 1 minute time allowance, most likely used after unsatisfactory start, 2. After tapes infringement and a team opts for rider to go off 15m, then the opposing team chooses which two gates they would like their riders off - which could be 1&2, 1&3 or 2&3 - this negates any deliberate tape touching to move a better rider from gate 4 say to gate 2. One more drastic change Introduced the "ticking clock" for 2 minutes (or one minute - see above) when clock hits zero riders to be ready for green light, not still messing about!
  9. On redcar Website - seems BSPA prefer a good track, low rental cost and reasonably central location for competing teams to a "better" stadium
  10. and sometimes it is the ones you least expect are the biggest culprits!!!
  11. What about the indecent ones? (Yes - you know who you are )
  12. Any news on how Ulrich is? He slid off in his last ride last night and although it looked like a simple "get up and walk away" crash he was down quite a while and then limped off badly with boot removed? Best Wishes to him, hopefully nothing serious Sorry - should have checked your website first - being a Redcar fan I'm not used to news being on so quick
  13. It was announced that Garrity and Bellago are in Silver Helmet at Redcar on Thursday - but what is announced as line up and who actually appears are often completely different!!
  14. Everyone makes mistakes, even the very top riders - Ivan Mauger openly admits he made a mistake in his 1973 world final run off, when he could have waited to try his passing move.
  15. Hi - post this on Bears Talk forum, I know Bruce's friend reads that and he is in contact with family
  16. That's a very generous offer and a real incentive for him to go for it
  17. You're using that dodgy Palm Toft calculator for converting averages he is 5.86 in EL which convert to around 8.2 !! How do you get a new average mid month, unless he was on an assessed average?
  18. Chance for him to earn more money - riders/promoters often exchange criticism - it would be foolish to let that hinder future bookings!!
  19. Ok I don't want you to squeal any longer so I'll accept that as your apology
  20. Haven't seen anything official but best guess Redcar 1. Richard Lawson (G) 2. Stuart Robson 3. Matej Kus 4. Dimitri Berge 5. Jonas B Andersen 6. Adam Roynon 7. Jan Graversen Plymouth 1. Kyle Newman 2. James Wright 3. Jack Holder 4. Morten Risager 5. Ryan Fisher 6. Sam Simota 7. Todd Kurtz Seems likely Robson will be back, but if not r/r - rumoured Roynan may be back, that one has to be more doubtful and "guest" will replace if not. If both are back and approaching full fitness will make it a good contest. Hope you get a good evening both with weather and racing to kick off your tour.
  21. Dear me your squealing is getting louder and louder, I’m not sure you even know what you are saying! Firstly, I never said anything about "easier" rides; where do you get that from? - No you didn’t, that was my response to your comment of scoring more points, at the risk of stating the bleedin’ obvious, riders in the reserve berths can take more rides, ride against weaker riders more often and therefore have the opportunity to score more points! Secondly, I did not acknowledge that averages are the yardstick to use; I was saying the very opposite in the context of whether Simon Lambert is in the 'top 3' for Panthers this season. So why use the comment about why Robert L’s average shouldn’t be used as a yardstick? Look, this little argument started when Lukas asserted that Simon Lambert is one of our 'top 3 riders' and you responded that it's just his opinion, not a "fact", clearly implying that Simon isn't one of our top 3. Maybe you should explain why you made that snidey response to Lukas in the first place. After all, you could post "that's opinion not fact" to a high proportion of posts on this forum. – No need to explain anything, as previously stated it was not intended to be snidey or sarcastic in any way, and it was simply acknowledging the posters viewpoint. Yes it was implying Simon isn’t in your top 3 – because he isn’t – look at BSPA site, look at Panthers site they list your riders in ranking order he is at number 6 (5 if you use real averages not assessed)- just answer who can take an r/r ride instead of him? Oh NOBODY because he isn’t in top 5 riders! If you or anyone else feel he is one of your top 3 valuable riders then fine I fully respect that opinion! Maybe you should explain why you decided to use your bully boy responses in a debate that had nothing to do with you? Lukas was making the point that when Simon L is out he's badly missed how do you know what the point being made was? - which he definitely is, irrespective of whether he's in our 'top 3' – so you do agree he isn’t? and by whichever yardstick is used. The only yardstick that puts Robert Lambert ahead of Simon is the averages, but that's not much use to Panthers when he goes missing so often. Yes, I cannot, and do not, speak for every single Panthers fan – who said you did? You do feel empowered to quote what most Panthers fans think - that's stating the bleedin' obvious! - but the posts on here tend to support my view that most are very disappointed with Robert L this season despite his 8+ average that you set such great store on. I agree that it's it's useful and it is, after all, the stat that dictates team-building and so on, but it's not the be-all and end-all. In fact its importance is greatly diminished if that rider keeps letting you down. – Its importance is actually increased as it allows you a better guest replacement. This argument is now getting tiresome, apologies to other fans for the full half hour version, so I’m happy to accept an apology and we can move on.
