  1. To add to the mystery Jonas Anderson is quoted as saying he misses Workington home and away due to enforced layoff and therefore my next meeting will be 21st April!!!
  2. Can't see why it can't be rerun, Redcar will have plenty of free home dates come late August/early September !!!
  3. Will this not also mean Steve Worrall is missing??
  4. Its pay back in advance for when he knocks them down
  5. You say they are "once again asking over the odds" well in my view there are three potential scenarios 1 - Redcar are asking a price over his value and Newcastle are offering a fair price 2 - Redcar are asking a fair price and Newcastle are offering a price under his value 3 - Redcar are asking a price over his value and Newcastle are offering a price under his value And his "value" can't actually be stated anyway as it is down to personal judgement Personally I would bet on scenario 3, as human nature will always go towards this scenario when bartering over a possession being sold, as to how far over/under each side is, that is for the arbitration panel to decide.. As to this constant winge of insisting on selling when Redcar loan riders themselves - the rider requested a transfer, not a loan, a transfer, and this is what is going to happen - the arbitration system is there to protect riders and clubs to ensure neither can be forced into a situation against their will. If Redcar insist on a transfer fee, it's their right and they may need that money to fund riders to replace the outgoing riders. As to them loaning riders in, that is down to the clubs owning those riders if Bjerre, Bellago, Skidmore etc were only being allowed to leave their clubs on full transfers then Redcar, or any other club, would have to agree a fee, OR go to arbitration. Finally regarding Summers, yes it was the same situation with the rider requesting a transfer, however that did not end up at arbitration, so logically this resulted in a fee which was acceptable to both parties being agreed!
  6. Firstly if Davey is eligible under the rules then OK, whether it is a signing within the spirit of what was intended is up for debate! However if you believe that Edinburgh signing two 3pt riders last seasons was a noble act designed to embrace the concept of promoting young British talent then you are seriously deluded. Last season Edinburgh went with a team building plan which incorporated room for 6pts at reserve and, hats off, it proved to be totally successful. To expect plaudits for "sticking with" these riders for the season is also laughable, if the team had not performed and there was a chance to change one of reserves for a higher average rider I'm sure that would have happened, but as already stated the plan worked and both reserves contributed to back up top five. I agree it is disappointing that Branford is without a team slot, but this just highlights the lack of thought in the ruling - riders with averages below 4 were always going to struggle to get a place, look how many teams have gone with a second reserve under 4pt average. Points limit should have been dropped and additional limit of 7.5 on total reserves averages including the 3pt NL rider.
  7. They were going to cover Newcastle, but the fee asked for was deemed too much by Diamonds, so they offered less, which was refused - apparently you will have to wait till March to see if any outcome is agreed
  8. I guess Somerset were used as they have two foreign riders on 5pt assessed averages
  9. I thought you must have signed "the peoples champion"
  10. may have given your promotion too much credit - and certainly doesn't apply to another one closer to me!!!
  11. Yes I read that - why would I want to weep? I'm not sure you read my response fully or took in the context it was delivered - it was a genuine answer to your "sort of " question, plus a response to all the others who are complaining about Redcar loaning riders.
  12. Were you drinking when you posted this? It isn't up to your usual eloquent standards! Answer is, across the board, that it all depends on whether parent clubs ask for a transfer fee, or would prefer to retain rider and get a loan fee. Can't see why people are getting all hot & bothered about a club loaning riders in, but asking for an outgoing rider to leave on a full transfer, especially if that rider has asked for the transfer! Now the amount of transfer fee asked for is a topic which could stir up a debate , however this is what the arbitration system is in place for - so ultimately it should be a fair resolution to all parties
  13. Which would have a major impact on priority when clashes occur for doubling riders!!
  14. I think you have a good idea of who last rider will be, realistically when you have two spots left and a reasonable number of points to play with you don't just sign a lower average rider and then hope you can use the remainder - any sensible promotion would plan for both places and act accordingly. I put your promotion in the "sensible" bracket
  15. Article in Star on Bjarne Pederson has him looking at Poland, so he would be unlikely for PL on Sundays
  16. Won't be at Monarchs as he has signed for Belle Vue and they will be on same race night.
  17. Lets be honest over last few seasons he has been a gating tart at most tracks
  18. I guess so, but then it's all relative isn't it - it comes down to what you are comparing it to!!
  19. disappointed to hear that - I thought he was having "a break". Personally think he has something to offer.
  20. OK please catagorise these riders into double uppers and double downers, based on last season Craig Cook Danny King Ricky Wells Kyle Howarth Stuart Robson Steve Worrall Richard Lawson
