2009 Premier League Pairs To say Graham spouted off is really complete nonsense. We are a big club, I accept we havent won a 1-7 team trophy but we have only been back 4 seasons. Over many years greast riders rode for this club and the club has a long distingushed history, what do you expect Graham to say. If I heard Graham talking down the Brummies I would very disapointed, he has never done that and why should he.

Now the Brummies Season is over I thought I would start this with a view to next season. Firstly its great to start this, now we have full planning permission, at least that Black Cloud has gone from the club. There has obviously been a lot happening over the past 2-3 weeks in regards to the future with Gary Patchett leaving. We know the club is in very safe hands in Tony Mole, theres no-one better experienced in running this club. The Question is will he run it himself or will others come on or will Mick Bratley stay on. To be honest we can speculate untill the cows come home about this but only Tony knows what his plans are and he will let us know in good time. What I do think needs to happen is this to be resolved before the AGM as every year we see teams get stuck in to team building straight away. Then the question is whether Graham and Denise will stay at the club. I think both of them have been fantastic for Birmingham Speedway over the past four years. He said he has to sit down with Tony to discuss his future. I hope Graham stays on I really do, but this also needs to be decided ASAP so the club can move forward. Once we know then the club can move forward to the bright future we know we have. Looking ahead to next years team, I guess we could be looking a different team with a change of promotion. If we didnt have a stupid points limit then I would love to see them all back but that obviously wont be the case. Of the team that finished the season, I think only Jason Lyons is a Birmingham Asset. I think it would be unthinkable not to have Jason as the first rider signed, he is a legend of Birmingham Speedway. He was widely wrote off during the close season and many fans said he would drop his average even though his average was only 8.02. Whilst the other 2010 Brummies arnt our riders it would be good if we good get some of them back on loan. I would say its unlikely that Aaron Summers will return as hes owned by Edinburgh and I can see him riding there next year. Chris Kerr is a Wolves rider and with a very attractive average he is surely to be in many PL Promotors minds but I do hope Chris returns. I dont know about Johno, he dropped his average alot and seemed to get passed on the outside far too much. He would offer alot to the younger rides but I thought Johno was a disapointment this year to be honest. I certaintly wouldnt mind Sweetman, Sedgmen and Newman coming back on loan next year. The likes of Ludvig Lindgren, Rusty Harrison, Paul Clews are Brummies assets that might be considered too. Oh and fellow Brummies fans lets not forget Brent Werner and Mattia Carpenese too . A rider I would love to see is Micky Dyer, think the kid has alot of raw talent on a bike if a little wild at times. Probably an Understatement but I love his riding style. Also I think Kyle Legault has unfinished business here after his crash, I think he will return sometime in the future not saying it will be in 2011 but we can always hope. Whatever team we have it will be competitive thats for sure. It might not be as expensive as this years but it doesnt mean we cant challenge and win honours. We have a future now and its about building towards that, that is most important. We challenged before Gary Patchett came and I firmly believe we will in 2011 with Tony back in charge. So its sure to be a fasinating winter, Cant Wait to March already !!!

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation

It amazes me that some people are just so bitter. The collum from Matt Ford was totally uncalled for and downright offensive in my opinion as theres no proof. Before this I actually liked Matt Ford, earlier in the season he wrote an Collum in the Dudley Heathens programme ( at his own request) in which he praised the Heathens for their support at a Bournemouth meeting. It was a lovely touch I thought so Im somewhat disapointed with his ungracious and unsporting conduct over this. -

It makes you wonder why they cant just stage this at Monmore Green. Dudley have recently announced an end of season challenge with Stoke so why couldnt that date be used for it, I would like to think this is more important then an inter-league challenge. I know it would be a Tuesday but the weekends are always crammed full with other fixtures plus it would be on a fantastic race track in a stadium use to holding big events. -

What a shambles, the BSPA are a total disgrace . Its bad enough that this has been cancelled late with people coming from far away, going to a lot expense at the process. Why do it, Rye House are using Sunday so whats the problem with Saturday. Come on BSPA we want ANSWERS!!! As someone said the kids in this league are our future and this is kick in the teeth from the BSPA MC. They are treating us like fools and wonder why people stay away at times. Shocking -

A shame the NLRC is on the same day as the KOC second leg, Kyle did okay at Newcastle last time aswell. Gutted hes missing out. Good luck to him in this though. -
I agree, Bach especially early on was absolutley fantastic. I felt for him in the final after Larsen went into him. He didnt look the same in the final to to a combination of bike damage and effets from the heavy fall. I take nothing away from Kenni Larsen, he like Bach was outstanding. Both were a sight to behold in the early stages, if they gated that was it basically no-one could catch them. It was fitting Kenni Larsen won it as its proably his last year at this level. David Howe deserved second place, a rider I have alot of time for as hes one of the most professional riders around. Fishers move in Heat 19 was the move of the meeting, he went from third to first on the last lap after Gathercole fell earlier in the race. Auty started slow but came to life later on but just missed out on the final. Jason wasnt that bad I thought, he got 3 comfortable second places and challenged Fisher in Heat 15. The killer was when he had the EF, it was a race I precdicted he would win as it looked his easiest on paper. The last race last place was expected as he was up against Larsen, Howe and Auty. Its still been an excellent season in the super 7s for the Brummies, we cant win them all I guess. I was most disapointed in the Rye House two. Ive seen Sundstrom perform much better than that, real let down I thought. Last Year I seem to remember Frampton doing well at Sheffield so its a mystery as why he was so poor tonight. Whats happened to Tomas Topinka, he has really dropped his form this year. Well done Kenni Larsen.

He would get the worst Ever Birmingham Rider award too Im sure . Seriously what is the point of giving him a wildcard year after year, its the same every year. -

Delighted that Tomasz clinched the World Title tonight, he deserves it totally. It would have been a crying shame if Tomasz had gone through his career without winning it, when you consider how gifted he is riding a speedway bike. :approve: Got to also say, huge well done to Bomber thought he was sensational tonight . Excellent GP too after a slowish start. -
Well done to Super Kyle, more of the same Wednesday plz

Peterborough V Coventry 20/09/10

Its so dispointing to see a such an important meeting on such a dreadfully prepared track. I accept that with P'bro facing a 14 point deficit they have to prepare a track to suit there riders, but in what way was that suited to the P'bro riders. They should do what they do in Cricket and clubs should face points deductions or fines, yes thats harsh but we asking riders to put their lives on the line, they deserve utimate respect in my opinion. Thank god for Air Fences, the Kasprazak crash was a perfect example of why I think they should be compulsory at ALL tracks. Imagine if there wasnt one and just the Wooden Boards that were behind it. At the speed at which KK hit the fence, it really does send shivers down about thinking of what the consequences would have been without it. On a lighter note Ive got to say well done to Sweets for his performance. He won us the fours there and its a track suited to his style for sure. Full time Elite League for him next year for sure so I hope he can continue this rich vein of form for the Brummies in our remaining matches. -

PISZCZ TO MISS OUT Wednesday 15 September 2010 TOMAS Piszcz will miss out on an emotional return to Perry Barr tonight. The popular Polish rider was due to appear in the Joe Thurley Memorial Trophy event but he has been unable to get here from his home country. Piszcz has asked us to send his apologies to all Brummies fans. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gutted!!!!  -
Dudley Heathens Vs. Plymouth Devils 08/09
Brummie Kev replied to willp's topic in National League Speedway
You want to see it at Monmore Green Topaz, the crowds are even bigger . Whilst the Heathens get good crowds at the Barr, its alot bigger at Monmore. I think some dont travel to Perry Barr for some reason but the crowds are very good. At Monmore for the Bournemouth meeting there was a 15-20 minute to get in plus the Newport meeting two weeks back the crowd was huge at least 2000. I can fully understand the views of a newcomer to Perry Barr about the viewing. On the first second bend even with the wooden plank to stand on your view is somewhat hampered (unless in temp stands). In the past we have been restricted as to what we can do, without full planning it makes no sense for a promotor to commit loads of money if the sport isnt certain of continuing. Therefore it was interesting to read that on the day of us getting full planning, there were quotes from Tony Mole about "improving spectator viewing" thats all he said but my money is on the first/second bend with possibly the outside viewing on the home straight. So we should see the viewing getting better on the bend, I dont what they are going to do. You just cant put another temp stand as you are blocking the an exit from the pits, but all they need to do is raise it somewhat especially if an Airfence is installed sometime in the future. Apparently the Council has agreed to the upgrade as they own the stadium so I hope more details are released about it soon. -
Cheers, I will keep that in mind.

Will we even have a 2011 Elite League, Interesting comments from Chris Louis on this link about the the possibility of a "Super League" being proposed for next season . http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/8979454.stm

Deadline For Nl Fixtures
Brummie Kev replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
I think its a total farce, but it has happened before sadly in the Premier League in 2007. We ended up finishing second but at the cut off date we werent in the play offs and the BSPA wouldnt move it. It all came down to the Glasgow Away meeting, it was rained off in June then rescheduled for September just before the cut off but yet again it was rained off. They wouldnt move the cut off date so we had no choice but to not run it before the cut off. So we were fifth but its hardly our fault it was rained off twice yet we had our play off hopes snatched away by the BSPA. -
Does anyone know of any decent places to park around the stadium within a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium that are safe to park. Last year we parked in the carpark and we couldnt get out for ages , so much so we wont be parking there this year. In previous years we parked on Livesey Street but you get the same problem of traffic congestion after the meeting at the junction with Livesey Street and the A61.

Dudley Heathens Vs. Plymouth Devils 08/09
Brummie Kev replied to willp's topic in National League Speedway
Enjoyed this meeting, so glad I was here and not at Kings Lynn to watch the Brummies capitulate. Eventful is not the word, crashes galore but thank god it seems all the riders are okay. Plymouth I feel deserve huge credit for coming and giving their all with an absolutley sensational performance from Mark Simmonds. In all truth the Devils were really a two man team with Seemond Stephens doing well in his early rides but even he had engine trouble in his final rides. Nicki Glanz was shocking, could not belive how poor he was considering his high average. The Heathens were a bit hit and miss. The top two of Lee Smart and Barrie Evens had below par meetings, hope Lee is okay after his nasty crash. His chain snapped mid race throwing him off the bike head first onto the track. Ashley Morris tried but he was involved in a nasty crash at the end of the home straight when it slid off at speed into the fence. Dudleys best rider was Richard Franklin, who gave 100% and rode well fair to him. Anderson was another did well but does know the track after his short stint with us. Tom Perry was brilliant entertainment once again, personally he can miss the gate in every it race doesnt bother me . Heat 9 was just a superb race between Mark Simmonds and Tom Perry, Simmonds held him off after Perry was all over him a rash going inside. Fair play to both for a great race. Decent crowd, not the Monmore standards but also good seeing 'Porky' on the microphone. He cracks me up sometimes and he had some good banter with the Plymouth fans. He was winding them up by asking if Plymouth was in Devon or Cornwall. .Got to say really impressed with the turn out from the Devils fans, considering its a long journey up and mid week you deserve a lot of credit. I for one hope to see you back at Perry Barr next season taking on the Brummies in the Premier League. -

Weather forecast is good so we should have a meeting today. All the best to the Heathens, I reckon they will be close to hitting 60 points once again.
