  1. I see they have announced Ashley Morris as their first signing and will be open talks with Tom Perry in the next week. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.9702.6
  2. They probably will if Kings Lynn move into the Elite League.
  3. I really hope Mildenhall and the 'Barmy Army' can once again return to this sport. Good Luck guys
  4. Try Here: http://smokeandrubber.com/speedway/products/2010_sgp_boxset/page_1
  5. Its sad to be leaving the Premier League after 4 good seasons but a new challenge awaits us in the Elite. All the best to all the Premier League Clubs next season.
  6. Also its a big risk for a Premier League club to include Polish Riders with Sunday Meetings. However I think Polish Riders that ride in the PL have to take out an ACU License now, after the problems we had with Tomasz Piszcz.
  7. I would love to see Danny King in Brummies colours if we did go up, a rider I have always liked.
  8. That would be a shame IF we do move up although understandable, Jason is a legend of this club with his performances over the past 4 seasons.
  9. My big worry is what sort of team we could put out next year, if you look at our asset base then there very few options, only really James Wright and Ludvig Lindgren ( probably Jason wont do EL anymore). So we would just be signing riders the bigger teams didnt want to use and it remains to be seen how much Tony is willing to spend on the side. Also we have to remember that costs are THREE times of the Premier League, so I would be a bit worried. However, currently we are paying £15 for Premier League Speedway, you have to wonder whether some people find that too expensive for that level of speedway. There will be many job losses in this city where people will pick and choose sporting events and perhaps some people would eb attracted to a 'higher level' of speedway for that price. Theres no doubt derby matches with Wolves and Coventry would draw in big crowds, plus it could even increase publicity for the club accross the city. Every bloody time BBC WM are interviewing Drury they are ALWAYS asking about the Brummies moving up. Also could big potential sponsors come onboard if we raced at a higher level, in terms of sponsorship the club is in a very good position in that regard aleadly. So I can see both sides of the argument, however theres no doubt it would be a gamble and I would be apprehensive if it happened. Although whatever they decide, I will back them 100% as if we did move up the the club needs our full support even more. Tomorrow evenings AGM news cant come quick enough as far as im concerned.
  10. Anyone believe this could be true. http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/home/witches_look_premier_league_bound_1_732520
  11. I would be , cant see us moving up to be honest. Theres been no indication in the local press here that we are.
  12. I just cant believe the BSPA always insist on having the NL AGM much later than the EL/PL one. Whilst there are problems with the Elite League and Ipswich there are also problems with the National League and the league set up. The sport in this country is going through a rough time that affects ALL 3 leagues so why should the National League have their AGM later, we need firm action NOW.
  13. In the last paragraph of this report (below) it suggests that other Elite League Club that wants to drop is Lakeside. Dont believe it myself. http://tinyurl.com/28jsvv6
  14. I thought you reached agreement with Wolves to race your home meetings their next season.
  15. I would doubt that about Perry Barr, they had to scrap Thursday night greyhounds because of poor crowds and this year the Stadium Manager was made redundant by the GRA, yes you heard me right the Stadium Manager!! . The stadium is run by I believe a more regional manager now.
  16. Wouldnt mind seeing the Dream Team back at Perry Barr next season, really enjoyed their visit last season. Would prefer it be against the Brummies this time if at all possible.
  17. This is an answer from Jon Cook in Lakeside's Hammerzine (August) about the future of the Elite League: Interesting he mentions only 8 teams and even more interesting is he mentions a league of Higher Quality. This was produced many weeks ago yet we found out this week that a 5 point hike in the points limit is proposed . Perhaps Louis has always been against it which prompted him to talk about going Premier. This week we saw the 45 limit in the Press , the same week as the EGM so perhaps they will run with it next year. So this announcement by Ipswich could be their intention to run Premier League next year. Just my guess as Jon Cooks second point of an expanded Elite League isnt going to happen for next year.
  18. I think Wizzer would have been a great choice personally, adored by the fans with his time at the club and I really think he would be suited to the role. The thing that would count against him would be experience but he has to start out somwhere why not here? He would be a breath of fresh air in my opinion but Im sure Tony will appoint someone that will do a good job in trying to secure more silverware for the club. Should know in the Next Week.
  19. Monmore crowds are much bigger, so its only sense they race all their matches there next year. I would say the Heathens crowds at Perry Barr were very good but everytime I went to Wolves it seemed packed each time. Didnt get that feeling at the Barr.
  20. Yes I read that in the Heathens section in today Speedway Star apparently Tony Mole offered to a track share again but they want to ride at Monmore on Tuesdays only next season. Probably best for all parties however I still plan to catch as many Heathens matches as possible if I have a Tuesday evening free.
  21. Yep, The BBC WM Speedway Forum is on BBC WM tonight from 8 to 9pm. Listened to the few highlights they showed in the breakfast show this morning and some very encouraging news for Dudley in trying to find a new stadium. Tony Mole, Nigel Pearson, Peter Adams and Tai Woffinden are on the panel. Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_wm
  22. So I guess it rules out Wizzer as Team Manager , if he said experienced then probably Ian Thomas will be the choice. The BBC WM Speedway Forum will be broadcasted on this link from 8pm, panel also includes Peter Adams, Nigel Pearson and Tai Woffinden as well as Tony Mole. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_wm :)
  23. Delighted Mick Bratley is staying on board , hes been fantastic for the Brummies and is well like by all the fans. The "Sunday Funday" and "Make me a Fan" promotions he has introduced have been a resounding success and it would have been a great shame if he wasnt here in 2011. Its clear he was doing something right if he has turned down two Elite League Clubs and a fellow Premier League Club to stay with the Brummies. I cant forget about mentioning Bratters Programme Notes, the highlight of the 2010 Brummies Programme. Very Very Funny and a fantastic read, so Im delighted we can all enjoy reading them once again in 2011. Its been a few weeks since the Brummies season ended but at last we have some good news to talk about.
  24. How about this team/s: 1. Jason Lyons 9.17 2. Richard Sweetman 7.68 3. Rusty Harrison 6.92 4. Paul Clews 5.51 (2.5% reduction) 5. Chris Kerr 5.47 6. Kyle Newman 3.61 (2.5% reduction) OR Klaus Jakobsen 4.70 7. Tom Perry 3.00 Total: 41.36 OR 42.45 Without a Team Manager in place, I dont know if the 2011 side has even been dicussed but this is the side I would would like. I guess Tony would want to use some of the clubs assetts, we have a small assett base but the likes of Paul Clews and Rusty Harrison are. To not have Jason Lyons back for his fifth season would be unthinkable and he too is of course a Brummies Assett. I would love to see Richard back, I really think he can improve that average to 9+ next year without a doubt. An improvement in average could be said for Kyle Newman and I think every Brummies fan would be delighted to see him return. However he isnt our assett and I guess other clubs would be interested too. He would certaintly be my fist choice for the No6 postion but if not then I wouldnt mind seeing Klaus return. He showed during his brief stint that he could do a good job and is an alternative option if Kyle doesnt return. The one Brummies Assett Ive omitted from that side is Ludvig Lindgren, he took the risk to move up last winter and put a point on his El starting average. Would he come back on on his 2009 average which is 6.06 or double his 2010 El average. Even still I think its very unlikely to see him drop back down to race for the Brummies in 2011. However he is a Brummies Assett and I hope Tony can strike some sort of deal with Wolves. The rider we would love to see back is Chris Kerr he is a Wolves Asset and looking at the 'Wolverhampton 2011 thread' it seems alot of their fans want Ludde back. So surely its logical that an arrangement could be made with Wolves regarding Ludvig and Chris. Chris himself has expressed a desire to return next year and lives locally.
