Also on Nigel Pearsons twitter, Great News!! :drink: -
I only went to the afternoon meetings and throughly enjoyed it. Thought there was a good crowd in for the final one.The minutes applause given to the late Ian Thomas was very nice considering all that he did for this event in its history. Good win for England in the first meeting, they had much more than the ROW select side. Only Smoli and Wizzer looked any good for them. The Pairs meeting was okay but it was inevitable that Atkin and Kennett would win it given how dood they are on Ice. I would have preferred to have seen them split up. Smoli and BB did very well, Ben doesnt really have the riding style for Ice Speedway but to be fair he rode well in the Pairs meeting. A few decent races, and a couple of crashes including when BB wiped out his team mate David Howe in one race . Also Kennett took out Smolinski in Heat 13, it was good to see the pair of them playing up to the crowd though. No way that would have happened in a serious meeting but that is what Telford is all about. That incident was quite funny. Delighted that Smoli won the evening meeting, he has been a popular rider at Telford. Today I lost count of how many wheelies he did but hes a showman and a well derserved winner. Looking forward to seeing him ride for the Brummies this year. Thanks for the Memories Telford!!

I'm looking forward to it as for me it marks the start of season.. I know its got its critics but its a fun day out and people shouldnt take it too seriously. Its a good laugh when you have people like Atkin, Smolinski etc playing up to the crowd. That at the end that is what the event is about, racing wise you get very little. Also you get 'the smell' wafting all round the rink, the first time I went I was a bit overcome but now I love it . You can never beat the smell of Methanol especially after 4 months of being deprived of it!! . I want Smoli to win it this year but I expect Atkin to be the man to beat.

Many thanks for that, have edited my previous post. Good to see a rider that has generally been very good on his visits to Perry Barr included in the line-up! -

I would be disapointed if they dont show it Live, what would their reason be for not doing so. Its scheduled to be shown during the night, so theres plenty of space on the channels. -

Good 4 so far but I hope the next name is Freddie Lindgren, hes brilliant at Perry Barr.He got a 15pt maximum in the WM Trophy meeting and a 5 ride 18 pt max in the ELA fixture, even though I get the impression he doesnt like the track, going by an interview ive heard from him last season. -

Kenneth Bjerre and Brummies number 1 Bjarne Pedersen named as the first two riders http://www.birminghambrummies.co/news.php?extend.1293 -
I think he said he was 50/50 to fit in time at the fans forum at Brum the other evening. Fingers crossed he makes it as he would be a big loss to Plymouth and the Brummies in the early weeks of the season. Very much doubt he will be fit for Telford.

I wonder when the first riders are due to be announced for this, theres still 2 months to go but last year when it was at Scunny they probably had half the field named at this stage. -
I thought he was great when he was at Dudley and I'm sure he would do a decent job in the Premier League.

Taken from this article: http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/932/track-time-for-tomasz Would be great to see him at Perry Barr and would love to see Crump and Hancock too for this meeting -
I know he may be a bit too good for the National League but I would like to see Chris Kerr in the American Team at number 1. I think its really sad that Chris has been forced out of British Speedway purely down to his average ( my opinon) as he is one of my favourite riders. Would be nice to see him riding in the UK again

Sadly not

Rye House would be in a right pickle when they would face Glasgow or Newcastle away!!
