  1. I used the earphone abit, problem was it was just too loud in the stadium to hear it all the time. You can turn the volume up but even on full blast its hard to hear it with all the airhorns. I might just be going deaf though!!!!
  2. Just back at hotel in Caerphilly, congratulations to Chris Holder. Some very good racing, good performance from Scotty, bomber got better after a shocking start but too late. The crowd looked abit down, although it was packed near me in middle tier. At the end of the day it's more about the atmosphere, tonight as ever was electric. Must say great to see so many in Rico t shirts, truely brilliant. RIP
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flawless_%28dance_troupe%29 Apparently Simon Cowell has said: One of the best things I have ever seen in my life.....not just the best dance group I have ever seen, it's one of the greatest acts I have ever see in my life.
  4. Well I forgot to post my predictions for the Italian GP , so hoping for a good Cardiff GP to catch up Fredrik Lindgren Chris Harris Nicki Pedersen Jason Crump TWO TRIBES ( Hancock/Sayfutdinov)
  5. Really enjoyable night, with a great send off to Jason . It was great to see Jason coming round on the bike especially given the injury he suffered, it wasnt certain that he would do it. Got a great send off from the crowd. All the riders deserve credit, there was some very good racing at times. You dont always see it in individuals but tonight was pretty good, Bomber and Freddie with some great moves. Congratulations go to the Bomber on the win, a pity Freddie couldnt take his place in the final as his bike packed up. Impressed with Flyin Ryan Sullivan, heard he's relocated back to England from Poland, so wonder if he is after a team place. Tomasz Jedrezak looked extremley fast in some heats and unlucky to miss out on final. Same for Woffy too. Encouraging display from Nico again, won Heat 12 against Screen, Lemon and Sedgmen. I sort of expected it but he won it a country mile which is what impressed met hen involved in a good scrape with Woodward in his next race, after gating quite well. Hope he keeps it up. Good fun night, with the usual rules relaxed. Nico got excluded in heat 5, only for GD to offer Paul Ackroyd £50 to put him back in. Paul than wanted £100 and low and behold Covatti came back out for the re-run . There was a funny bit in the final when Rory took hold of the start-line marker and marked a much smaller gate 1 for Bomber, when Chris wasnt looking!! . Lots of fans from other clubs but I have to mention the Manchester Mexicans near the programme booth. Not heard fans at PB like that since Mildenhall's 'Barmy Army' were here in 2007. They were absolutley bonkers but were so funny with some of the chants!! The only downer was the crowd size, we left early expecting queues to get in after all Jason has rode a great career in Britain. Good line up, so its a great shame the stadium wasnt packed which is what he deserved!! Anyway for the people here, it was a great night. Thank you Jason Lyons for all the memories and Good Luck for whatever you do in the future.
  6. Had a call out of the blue from ticketmaster this afternoon, to check if we had the right tickets. A bit strange as we have had them since 5th July and they were the ones we ordered. Anyone else had a call from them.
  7. Might be tough as all Poles must take out an ACU Licence to ride in the PL, even then you still get riders like Stan Burza who are prepared to do that, only to find the PZM block it ( which happened recently). Too much hassle for Polish riders to ride in the PL. Loan him out to Belle Vue, I'm sure they would have him!
  8. I hope so too, a truely fantastic servant of British Speedway and a big crowd tomorrow is what he absolutley deserves!!! Meeting Preview: http://www.birminghambrummies.co/news.php?extend.1514 Stuart Robson is named despite his crash at Coventry on Monday. Danny King has had to withdraw as he is short of fitness from recent injuries. Brummies new boy Nico Covatti comes in. Full Iine up is: Chris Harris, Freddie Lindgren, Tai Woffinden, Davey Watt, Rory Schlein, Ryan Sullivan, Cameron Woodward, Ty Proctor, Joe Screen, Piotr Protasiewicz, Adam Skornicki, Tomasz Jedrzejak, Nicolas Covatti, Mark Lemon, Rusty Harrison, Stuart Robson.
  9. We ordered our tickets on the 15th June and we recieved them on the 5th July, didnt think they would send them that early. If you have your confirmation surely you would be able to collect them on the day from the ticket office anyway. The best thing would be to phone them to check.
  10. So the final lineup with four names added today is : Freddie Lindgren Tai Woffinden Chris Harris Ryan Sullivan Rory Schlein Piotr Protasiewicz Davey Watt Tomasz Jedrzejak Danny King Cameron Woodwood Adam Skornicki Ty Proctor Joe Screen Rusty Harrison Stuart Robson Mark Lemon Meeting Reserves: Justin Sedgmen and Klaus Jakobsen. 20 Heats and a final, Admission costs are £16 Adult, Concessions £12, Children (5-16) £5, Kids under 5 FREE.
  11. You dont really hear of many Fog Offs in a Speedway Season but even remarkable to have one in August . Feel for the fans that have travelled down there tonight
  12. Two good names, always enjoy watching the Bomber around Perry Barr .
  13. What about Danny King, he's always good around Monmore and for me is the dark horse for the title given his form this season. Barker isnt that great around Wolves, so I will be surprised if he gets near the top 3, despite improved form of late.
  14. What a joke if that is the team!! , why no Josh Auty or Adam Roynon.
  15. Greg Hancock Emil Sayfutdinov Freddie Lindgren Tomasz Gollob
  16. The line-up for this is really starting to take shape now, two more excellent names added . Like with Pepe, it gives a chance to see Ryan Sullivan make a rare UK appearence. Really pleased that Adam Skornicki agreed to ride, he's been a loyal servant to British Speedway over the years. Plenty of Doughnuts please Adam!! Lets hope we get good weather for this. as I seriously cant wait
  17. The pose Bomber makes with the inflated air jacket at 1:30 in to this video, really makes me chuckle . Seriously though, good to see riders trying out new things in an attempt to be safer on track
  18. Surely it would be on EL averages first, so the line-up will be: Tai Woffinden Chris Harris Edward Kennett Scott Nicholls Lewis Bridger Danny King Ben Barker Oliver Allen Simon Stead David Howe Ricky Ashworth Robert Mear Stuart Robson Josh Auty Craig Cook Adam Roynon
  19. Good Luck to Scotty, Bomber, Tai and Danny tonight, its going to be tough facing the Aussies but we did finish ahead of them a few years ago to reach the final. Race-off will be very tough, so fingers crossed we do it tonight. Hope to see the Norfolk Arena packed to the rafters, that will no doubt provide amazing support for the boys!!
  20. Freddie Lindgren is the latest name to added to the line-up. Massive respect for Freddie, for agreeing to ride in this 2 days before the British GP. Taken from Brummies Site FREDDIE Lindgren, Wolverhampton’s Grand Prix star, will add his high profile presence to the Jason Lyons Farewell meeting at Birmingham on August 23. It is a scoop capture for Aussie Lyons who will be marking the end of his 22-year British career with a star packed line-up. The fact that the 26-year-old Swede has agreed to include the meeting in his hectic schedule is a massive compliment to Lyons and speaks volumes about Lindgren, especially as the Farewell is two nights before the British Grand Prix at Cardiff. Lindgren is sixth in the current Grand Prix standing with 63 points as has emerged as a potential future champion after winning his home Swedish GP and finishing second in the Danish round. He is a regular and popular visitor to the Birmingham track in derby matches between the two Midland sides and his presence will be a huge boost for Lyons. The Aussie, forced by injury to bring an earlier than intended end to his career, said: “Freddie and I have ridden against each other in England and in Europe. “I’ve got to know him through travelling through the same airports but we have never been in the same team anywhere. “It is brilliant that he has agreed to ride in my meeting, especially when you consider we’ve never been teammates and when he has such a busy schedule. “I am hoping that having him in my Farewell will attract Swedish fans, who are coming over for the Grand Prix at Cardiff, to include my Birmingham meeting in their schedule. It will be a rare chance for them to see Freddie and speedway at Birmingham.” Lindgren, one of the most respected riders on the top class circuit, will race for Sweden in the FIM Monster Energy World Cup final at his home track in Malilla on Saturday. He has ridden for Wolverhampton since joining them as a 17-year-old in 2003 and has been club captain since 2008. He joins Polish World Cup man Piotr Protasiewicz and fellow Aussies Davey Watt and Rory Schlein in the line-up. More names will be announced next week.
  21. Heres the brilliant Heat 20 to enjoy once again: http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,14549_7880962,00.html
  22. Poland have called up Krzysztof Buckowski into the side for the race-off on Thursday, replacing Walasek. Buzkowski has apparently been with the Polish team practicing so gets his chance. I do find it a strange selection when you have riders of the calibre of Shamek Pawlicki, Kasprzak or even Zmarslik to call on. http://speedwaygp.co...ked-for-malilla
  23. Looking at the Sheffield Site, it says it's off because of heavy overnight rain and a bad weather forecast during the day. Showers are forecasted, but as we know showers can be hit and miss.
  24. Good meeting last night, thought it was a vast improvement on the dull meeting the week before . Credit to Elit Vetlanda on securing the away win, Emil and Crump were very good for them. Great to see a large crowd in attendance, I know in the UK some speedway fans would rather sit on their backsides at home and watch it on TV . Pleased that wasnt the case in Sweden last night.
