  1. Whatever happens in this Grand Final, I am so proud that this Brummies side has made it all the way. Before the season I would have bit someones hand off, to be in this position and the managment and riders deserve all the credit. We made a few finals in our Premier League days but never won a major trophy other than the super 7 events, so would love to go one further and win it. Although In my opinion the momentum is with the Poole Pirates and they start as favourites, having snook in to the Playoffs and coming from a deficit of 10 against a very good Robins side, they are bound to be pretty buoyed.. Having said that, we drew at Poole earlier in the year and we have the riders that go well down there, so its not out of the question. We really need to keep this to within 6-8 pts for the second leg to have a chance. Hope its two great legs of Speedway and make the best team win.
  2. Well not long to go now , really hope we make it through to the final but we must be wary of wolves. I dont think Craig Cook is such a bad guest, people say he's not a number one but you could say the same about Smolinski for us. Hes scored well in his matches at Perry Barr this year. Pleased that Mr Barker is fit to ride, he has been outstanding in recent matches at Perry Barr so R/R for him would have a big blow. Really had everything crossed last night that none of our riders would get injured and at first I was concerned when Covatti came off in the SEC and then BB, so glad we have a full side. Come on the Brummies!
  3. Do you have Limp Bizkit-Rollin,Rollin,Rollin at the ready if he wins a race on Monday Chris or Eye of the Tiger from the Rocky films
  4. Perhaps not so much in terms of team personnel, but the fans should at least have an idea of what we can expect next year with the league structure, sky etc. Alot of people over the course of the season fork out alot of money following their clubs, so its not on for the promotors to treat fans like Mushrooms. The worry I have is if Sky dont renew and the sport has to be run lower level, is do we seriosuly expect every single club to agree on the exact structure of the leagues and the rules. I fear we could get a situation with promotors walking out of AGM and because its been left so late, the fans and the riders will be left in limbo possibly for most of the winter. We need answers from Sky as to whether they will renew or not. Lets sort it now either way, its no good leaving it and waiting for S**t to hit the fan because the clubs collectively cant agree a way forward. However do we expect anything different from the BSPA!!
  5. Should be another good one, and another big crowd just like there was at Monmore tonight. Brummies have a two pt lead but I'm sure Wolves will come right back at us. Who will guest for Tai and will Josh Auty be fit or not. If not then I would stick with Tully ( If the rules allow), he rode well tonight and was pretty decent at Brum in our PL days. Sky might have to get a move on, as curfew is strict 10pm at Brum and both matches ran over tonight, lets hope theres not many hold ups.
  6. What a stupid post, to say Harris meant to hurt Iversen is absolutley ridiculous . If that was the case then why did Harris run over to check on him straight away if he meant it. Bomber is not a dirty a rider at all.
  7. Well such a shame that Heat 15 soured a little what was a great night of speedway. Firstly I send my best wishes to Niels, looked a really terrible crash, Harris went in way too hard and was rightly excluded but in no way Intentional from Bomber and you could see his concern right way by running over to him. Secondly I thought the actions of Freddie Lindgren towards the end of Heat 15 were uncalled for, he could have Jason off with such a dangerous move. Okay Doyley probably shouldnt have reacted but you can understand his anger aft Freddie doing something like that. Delighted we came away with a win, we need to back that up next Monday with another good performance. One of the best performances from Bomber this year, didnt always gate but had alot speed to win races. Doyle has performed well in each match Ive seen him at Monmore this year and another top notch showing tonight. Impressed with Barker, its not his track, so a decent effort from him. King, Smoli and Covatti struggled a bit. Must give a massive thanks to Andrew Tully for his performance, gave everything for the Brummies. It was so good to see a huge crowd like that at Monnmore, I got there about 6.40pm and all the roads were packed, had to park right down the bottom of Hickman Avenue. Walked up to the turnstiles and the queue was only through to the overspill carpark . Its great for the sport to see crowds like that, so many Brummies fans and a great atmosphere. So a brilliant win for the Brummies but we need to follow that up next week, Wolves came to the Barr early in the year and lost only by 2pts so we have be on guard. Roll on next week!!
  8. Really looking forward to this, we were always going to pick Wolves after finishing top and I really hope there are big crowds at Monmore Green and Perry Barr. Its going to be a fascinating two legs, in both meetings at Wolves this year we have come away with different results and different performances, The first match was great, had a big contribution from Smolinski at reserve and an a decent allround team performance. The second was different, we were outshone at reserve by Thorsell and there were some poor perforamces from riders that had previously gone well at Wolves like Chris Harris and Danny King. The worry I have about Monday, is at reserve for us. Early in the year we were winning plenty of matches with Smolinski there, he was a matchwinner. Its just not been the same with Josh, certaintly of late I think he is lacking in confidence and form. He gives 100% and cant you ask for more but he is struggling. Monmore isnt his favourite track he has said that but I remember him scoring 12 from reserve there last season. He was a strong reserve in 2012 which lead to him putting two pts on his average and a move into the main body, he can be that strong reserve again. Nico has shown a liking for the Wolves track and had a decent night last night, fingers crossed he make that two in a row at Wolves on Monday. So its a tough one to predict on one hand we have 4/5 riders that could do well and if the riders that dont usually do well there have a rare good night then anything is possible. On the other hand, like last time if we dont get much contribution from reserve and a few of the top 5 have poor nights it will be tough. We need to keep the it as close as possible for the return leg. Hope theres plenty of good racing, like there normally is at Wolves and really glad theres a big screen to watch the other match Good to see Wolves saying its normal admission for monday.
  9. He will ride at Scunny I would imagine as that fixture was arranged prior to our match at KL.
  10. Craig Cook Micky Dyer Alex Davies Ashey Birks Richie Worrall Jozsef Tabaka Lewis Kerr
  11. It says on the Brummies site that Ben has NOT had the operation and is going to his local hospital in Cornwall for a second opinion.
  12. Its all been sorted now ( on Thursday Afternoon), they had to phone me and it was fixed a while later after the tech guys looked into it. Its just seems my payment wasn't authorised on the site, the payment history section had no details of the payment I made even though they and I had a receipt for Paypal!! Fair play to them for dealing with this in the way they did, it was done by e-mail but in the last one they asked me for my number and I got a call within 30 minutes of me sending them that email.
  13. Cant say I'm surprised, earlier this season he almost had a fight with Kenneth Bjerre on the track, when Bjerre guested for the Hammers at Brum. They were meant to be team mates for that night!!
  14. I dont think Porky is dreadful, I'm just not a fan of his over the top style, and when he calls us "yummy brummies" . He whips up the crowd pretty well and I must admit I have heard and seen some funny things involving him. Like at a Dudley match when he tripped over the tapes and went flying head first on the straight!! What i do like about him, is at least he appreciates the away following, once he's ribbed them anyway . The last Wolves/Brummies match there were a good number of brummies fans that made the trip and as it finished thanked us for making the trip which was a nice touch. My favorite presenter is Chris Simpson, call me biased if you like but he does a great job at Brum and what a change it was from Peter Yorke who did the first year at Brum. Another guy I like is Kevin Coombes who does Eastbourne, very good when I was there a few years back.
  15. I wish I could watch Sunday's match but I'm having big problems subscribing with Speedwaytv.tv . I registered first which was fine, at the end of doing that you have to decide what package you want and give your payment details. I got the 3 day pass, and payed which I was sent as I got a email from Paypal saying it had been sent to Go Speed International. Now I log in but when I click on the match in the Live section all I get is a blue screen saying I must be logged in OR purchase a subscription to view. I am logged in and I have subscribed!!! I have sent them an e-mail and just another one which will hopefully resolve it but just want to know if others have had the same issues or is just me doing something wrong ( Probably likely )
  16. Smolinski has put over 2pts on his Elite League, and I agree hes been a massive success in our efforts this season. At the same time, he gets ALOT of stick from people which is unwarranted, comments about him being the worst gp rider in history before he's even completed a race in it, is ridiculous. Some of the accusations ( with no proof) earlier in the year of an oversized engine were shocking, and totally disrespectful to rider who is having a great season. It wasn't just fans on here but an EL team manager!! Its great to have a rider like Smoli in the GP, he may not be the most naturally gifted rider around and not a rider you would instantly think of as future world champion but he's a showman and thoroughly nice bloke, that always gives his all. All this dependent on Iversen finishing in the top 8 of course!
  17. 3 Brummies in it now, Good Luck to all them and I hope Smoli's bike doesnt catch on fire like it did on Wednesday
  18. Shocked by this news, I liked him as a commentator and my favourite race was the one below, great race but great commentary from Millard, his phrase of " Oh this is amazing, are they dancing together" just lives with me. My condolences go to his family and friends, will be greatly missed. RIP Tony
  19. Very Enjoyable night, absolute respect for all the riders for giving it 100% like it was a league meeting and some of the best racing seen at Perry Barr this year, much better than last week. Hilarious when Bridger, Watt, Batchelor ? and Roynon came out in their boxers/jocks and had a race. I really didnt expect it and neither did many around me on the main straight judging by their faces!! Also good to see Chris Louis and Sudden Sam in their match races, Louis won it when Sams chain came off in the decider, but I thought Sam looked much the better. Pete Adams should get on the phone to him!! Bomber looked good, quick on the track and didnt look to have an problems with his collerbone. Good News
  20. No sadly not, updates are below http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/12647/danny-king-testimonial-birmingham-2013
  21. I wondered myself at first why it was so late. I know there are greyhounds on Sunday Afternoons, but it was from about 11-3ish a few years back with Brummies meetings starting around 5/6pm. It seems to have changed now, as last greyhound race is 17.46pm tonight. Still I hope Danny has a great day, and a good turnout. I am 3 miles from track and Danny really couldn't have wished for a better day weather wise, absolutely gloriously sunny with plenty of blue sky.
  22. Don't worry probably wont be an Elite League next year, just a Premier League which as we know can do no wrong!!!
  23. Full Line Up Confirmed as Brummies Select: Danny King, Jason Doyle, Chris Harris, Ben Barker Wolves Select: Ricky Wells, Adam Skornicki, Davey Watt, Troy Batchelor Peterborough Select: Kenneth Bjerre, Ryan Fisher, Hans Andersen, Martin Smolinski Coventry Select: Scott Nicholls, Lewis Bridger, Adam Roynon, Eddie Kennett Chris Louis and Sam Ermolenko will take part in two match races, which shall be interesting 8pm start and normal brummies admission prices, lets hope its a great day for Danny
  24. Couldn't believe it when Covatti got injured and was lying on the track, with Tattum saying: "Hope Darcy Ward is Okay" but no mention of Covatti at all, what a prat!! Congratulations to Iversen on the win and Tai for another top performance. Fingers crossed nothing broken for Nico!!
