He's good at running one thing.....that's running away from his responsibilities. There was a rumour a few months back about this pub and its true, so I wonder ifs its also true that hes got a 14 plate merc that was said at the same time. People say why should this matter, its matters because there are 151 brummies fans that put their trust in the Phillips promotion earlier this season that have been badly letdown. I cant imagine any one of them is happy to see him owning a country pub and driving a nice car when they don't have the decency to pay them back.

I thought it was very good crowd for as some have described as a fixture filler.Great to see so many Brummies fans here and also fans of other teams including Oxford fans. Happy we won the fours but shame BB went into the fence in the final race. Racing I agree wasnt the best for Monmore standards and would have better if Oxford had a more competitive team. Hope to be watching the Brummies take to the track soon, fingers crossed for 2015.

Well I am looking forward to this, its not like I have many meetings to look forward now my club has closed down. I just dont want to go tracks like Monmore or Brandon as a neutral, I would much rather see my team in action. This meeting gives us a chance to support our team, and hopefully impress any potential person coming in if we travel there in numbers. Apart from Cardiff I have not seen a meeting since mid june, I loved going every single week until the shambles at the Brummies happened. So I applaud CVS for arranging this and will send a thank you email/letter to Wolverhampton Speedway in the coming days. What a mug I must be

Sheffield Vs Somerset Pl On Sky 28/07
Brummie Kev replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Really hope Andre is okay that looked a really terrible crash -
Just read the article and for me Peter Oakes sums it up perfectly in the closing part by describing it as an "extraordinary interview". I find it unbelievable that he more or less portrayed himself as the victim in all of this. He should have said sorry for what has happened, we dont have a club to support at the minute yet all he did in that interview was blame everyone but himself. The bit that made me laugh was him saying "its all about sponsorship and its never been as good as it was. On the Brummies forum a number of sponsors that sponsored the club in the past said they dont sponsor the club anymore. They also said the club made no contact with them about renewing their sponsorship, which is disappointing considering how much we rely on sponsorship. Look at the programme also, before this year when were there ever empty heat sponsorships at Brum ( 3/4 this year!!). Also the website to me looked bare compared to recent years and it was only late when we knew Selco were continuing. So I don't believe him one bit, the club in the past has had excellent sponsorship when Joe Mc was here. He seemed also to blame the GRA for people not attending, talking about £5 a pint for warm beer and a scanty burger. Yet no mention of the real reason many didn't attend. The fact he alienated fans by having a go at them in the Mail, found strange logic to attack the very people you want to come back. The interview was all about saving face, placing the blame at someone elses door. The sad fact of it all is we all have lost out, the club folded and he wont say sorry to the fans. Instead he says hes "the best promoter Birmingham has ever had"

I can understand what GiveusaB is saying, this season from the start to when it finished has been a disaster. Any speedway fan would feel pretty fed up with it all, if their club went the same way as ours. EL runners up to bottom of the league before the club folding in less than 12 months Its not to say I dont want the club to return, of course I do. Hoping for a consortium run club at Premier League level with hopefully a competitive team. Im sure Brummies fans would be looking forward to the 2015 campaign if that were to happen

Been fine for me but I have been checking it on my phone using the app.

Scunthorpe To Honour Birmingham Season Tickets
Brummie Kev replied to lucifer sam's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thats absolutely fantastic Scunthorpe, massive respect for what you and other clubs have done. Hopefully we can be resurrected in the winter and face you guys next year. -
We have got to keep the faith, its hard on day like this but ALOT of people fought hard over 20 years and we cant let it go without a fight. The fans raised £10k to save the club, and it shows that many people care about and hopefully that shows to a prospective promoter about bringing it back next year. Speedway at a lower level is still viable at Perry Barr and we have got to believe we will be back March 2015. And on the new pub in Redditch it seems

Coventry To Honour Birmingham Season Tickets
Brummie Kev replied to Main Man's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its a great gesture from Coventry, hope Wolves do the same with it being closer. Theres no hope season ticket holders will ever get their money back from Phillips but at least they can see speedway, just a shame it wont be the Brummies -
Gutted about this, should never have got to this stage. Thought that given the amazing response of the fans to raise £10,000, there might have been a chance of us getting saved. I hope to god this isn't the last time we see speedway bikes in Birmingham, hopefully all efforts can be made to get the club back on the track next year. Will be hard work but we have got to fight for our club Thanks to the BSPA for their efforts and to Coventry Speedway for that gesture about the season tickets.

The Difference In Attendances At Tracks
Brummie Kev replied to mdmc82's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Brummies have not had consistently good crowds since 2007 and we should never have moved up in the first place. Just hope we have the chance of reopening in the Pl next year and have not lost the sport for good in Birmingham -
Just got back to hotel, atmosphere amazing as usual, crowd looked decent The announcer said 50,000 before the meeting started, dont think it was that big but over 40, 000 imo. Well done Greg, gutted Woffy didnt win it. Racing I thought was poor but really I enjoyed the occasion and a popular winner. Just one thing, anyone see that Blue Flare land on the track at the end. I was third bend, middle tier and it wasnt thrown from my area. Was it shown on tv?
