They are on the iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p028g6n2 The Pearson interview starts about 02:35:00 and its followed by Gary Patchett's. It seemed to me that Tuesdays arnt completley a no-go, it just seems Ladbrokes wont make the stadium available on enough Tuesdays for Heathens to run a full fixture list.

We did race on Sundays in the PL in the evenings as its the dogs on the lunchtimes. However I think the dogs run a bit later now, the last dog race on the sunday just gone was 17:46 and I believe there is a 9pm curfew on a Sunday for speedway. So if you were to use PB one way or the other, I doubt Sundays would be an option. Only Monday- Thursday Evenings. Is the traffic really to bad to get from Cradley to Perry Barr on a weekday. Would many use the M5/M6 or just go through West Brom getting the A41/A4040 through Handsworth?

Sad to hear of this news, with the level of support Cradley get I really hope a solution is found. Its been very tough for Midlands speedway with ourselves in the mire, threats to Coventry's future and now the Heathens There are obviously big efforts to bring the Brummies back, the talk was PL but it seems Tony was keeping his cards close to his chest and this is porobably the reason. If we come back and go PL, it would be hard to see the Heathens able to use PB with the planning consent only allowing 1 night a week racing+ the amount of meetings. Two solutions I see are: 1. Brummies return and go EL, Cradley stay in the Nl and race their meetings at Monmore and Perry Barr when both ourselves and Wolves dont race. 2. Like someone said earlier, we both go NL amd share the stadium, given the amount of fixtures in the NL its viable. Personally I would prefer EL or PL but it does keep both clubs running. I dont see any other track where the Heathens can ride unless they can get Ladbrokes to reconsider with Monmore. Stoke is surely too far and Brandon isnt close either and already have Bees and Storm there. Maybe we could try and get Birmingham City Council to agree to 2 nights a week racing, Wednesday and Sunday?. Worth a try. I really hope something can be done and ALL midlands clubs can race next season.

In your normal league match, its fine to award meetings if it rains ( should be 12 not 10 heats imo) but in a two legged Grand Final where every point is crucial I dont think its right at all. It should be two 15 heat matches. Although given the amount of cancellations of the semi finals we dont have the luxury of time on our side, maybe a job to fit in before the end of the month. We would have no problem if we ran the play offs in September. If only Sky had not faffed around tonight!!

I believe they do, before the Brummies folded there was our sky match with Swindon if you remember. I was at the match and at 7.30 all four riders were waiting by the pit gate on the back straight, they were there for 15 mins before the sky man gave the go ahead. We then only made it upto heat 9 before it was called off and I was raging at why it took so long for Sky give the go ahead when all the riders were ready. Tonight was shocking, the radar clearly showed a band of heavy rain coming in from the west. Forecasts indicated heavy rain was forecasted so this meeting should have started on time. Then it should have run through quicker and I believe we could have just got the meeting run through. 90 minutes should have been be doable. Sky obviously call the shots even when bad weather is forecasted and for me that has got to change.

Pearson said rain was forecasted at 9pm, if so Nigel, Why did it take Sky 15 mins to run the first race? This could have been completed if they just checked the radar and started on time. Shameful

Some encoraging news today, obviously we shouldnt count our chickens but feeling much more optimistic now. From the Birmingham Mail Tony Mole , the man leading a business plan to bring speedway back to Birmingham, insists hopes are still high the Brummies will be back on track next March. Mole has stepped in to purchase track equipment from the administrators handling the sale following the collapse of the Alan and Charles Phillips promotion, which saw the club fold in July. Now he has a series of meetings planned over the next few days to establish interest from potential investors to form a consortium. And he says stadium landlords, the GRA, remain keen to see the sport return to Perry Barr – despite being left with unpaid rent twice in five seasons. “It’s better than 50/50 at this stage, I’m cautiously optimistic,” said Mole. “I don’t want to build up people’s hopes too much, but I am hoping to be able to make a presentation to the management committee of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association in the near future. “I have a series of meetings still in the pipeline and I am very much hoping these will help us reach our target to enable us to apply for membership to one of the senior leagues. “All this is subject to things falling into place when it comes to the financial structure of the club. “Once that is in order we can press the green light, I will not press ahead without the confidence we can ensure it is a viable business.” Mole says he is pleased to maintain a good relationship with the GRA at Perry Barr – and they are keen to see the sport back there in 2015. He said: “I’m very pleased they still want the sport because they could have turned their back on it after they have been let down in the past. They are comfortable dealing with me, they know our financial agreements will be honoured and we have a good relationship. “What level of the sport we would be looking at remains to be seen, I cannot say for certain at this stage so we will just have to see how things work out.”

Letter In This Weeks Speedway Star
Brummie Kev replied to topaz325's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
One of the best letters Ive read in the Speedway Star, couldnt disagree with anything he wrote. Just wonder whether the promotors read and took on board his points because thats what most fans think. -
Coventry --save Our Speedway E-petition
Brummie Kev replied to Main Man's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Signed. All the best with efforts to save Brandon, would be very sad for the sport if we were to lose a stadium like that -

Cradley V Birmingham Ch 7/10/14
Brummie Kev replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Wish I could go tonight but sadly cant get the time off work. Good Luck to the Brummies, hope we give them a run for their money! -
I guess its a good job the main grandstand is a listed building and the land is protected given the Council is in the process of selling off many of its assets. They of course have a massive legal bill (£1.1Billion) to due with the Gender equality ruling not ruling in their favour a few months back. They have put the NEC group up for sale and it could be sold by the end of the year. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did anyone read the the Mercury on Sunday, there was a bit about Phil Morris and didnt rule out a return to the Brummies should we return. Would love to have him back on board.

I would take anything to be honest with you, the last few months have been hell. When you love going to speedway every single week without fail , its hard to stop going just like that. Its amazing how much you miss it when its gone, alot fans criticise their own clubs for various reasons but at least they have a team to support. I just hope Tony's had a good response regarding the meeting to be held next wedensday. We have to remember whilst Tony is aiming to bring the Brummies back, he's in semi- retirement and cant run it alone so its for others in this proposed consortium to run the club. My main preference is for the Brummies to be in the Premier League with Cradley moving up so we have a good local derby and big crowds. We have a number of PL standard rider assets ( should we get them back from the BSPA). King, Covatti, L Lindgren, Rusty Harrison and whilst Barker is a Cov asset he I would imagine be very much in the plans. So the basis of a solid side Just have everything crossed that we get some positive news next week

A Toast To Daniel Nermark
Brummie Kev replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
All the best to Daniel, could never fault his commitment when he rode for the Brummies. I thought he was poor signing this year tbh but he proved everyone wrong and he was our best rider before we folded. -
Eastbourne To Close Down
Brummie Kev replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good News, I am glad the club is able operate at some level in 2015. Once a club closes down its not always easy to reopen. Eastbourne can have a good season in the NL and hopefully some decent crowds with Sunday racing -
Hope hes in a Brummies PL side next year, if all goes well!

Eastbourne To Close Down
Brummie Kev replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would be surprised if the Brummies run in the EL next year, before it all went belly up we were struggling to get decent crowds in. The team wasnt great i know but we struggled the year before with a team that finished top of the league. We rely a heck of a lot on Sponsorship and with the club folding mid season, its bound to have an effect on next year, PL more viable. Anyway back on topic and sad to hear of this news on Eastbourne. I hope something can be done, perhaps with someone coming in to run it in the Pl on a sunday that could work. I went to Eastbourne the other year and despite the mauling we got, I enjoyed the welcome the Eastbourne fans gave me, really nice fans. Fingers crossed you can run next year at some level. -
I also remember reading somewhere that there were people complaining that having speedway was increasing the amount of litter in the area. This is Perry Barr for godsake, hardly the cleanest of areas. Also when they were doing noise tests for the new silencer, the guy doing the tests in the back garden of one the nimbys properties phoned the stadium to let them know when they were starting, only to be told the meeting had started and they were on heat 3. that more or less sealed the deal for full planning permission.

Drury not ruling out a return, really wish we could Phil Morris aswell Graham Drury has hailed the news that Tony Mole is the man to lead a bid to revive the Birmingham Brummies for next season. The former Perry Barr boss, who quit the club in April after a dispute with failed promoters Alan and Charles Phillips, was alongside Mole when the sport returned to the city in 2007 after an absence of over 20 years. Now Mole has secured speedway equipment from the administrators, who took charge following the demise of the club in July, and has called a meeting of potential investors for October 1. But Drury is refusing to say whether he will return to the club should they be successful in entering the Premier or Elite League next year. “This is the best news any Birmingham supporter can get at this stage,” said Drury. “Tony Mole has a proven record of running Birmingham Speedway as a stable business and the fact he has purchased all the equipment from the administrators means he is the favourite to take the sport forward at Perry Barr. “I’m not sure about my own position right now, Denise and I are really enjoying life, spending time with the grandkids, clearing out the loft and going on days out! “But you can never say never – Denise and I gave our all for seven years at Birmingham and it broke our hearts to see the way the previous promotion destroyed the club. “Now all I want to see is the club back on track and Perry Barr Stadium staging speedway – whatever Tony Mole wants from me to make that happen I will be happy to help out.” Mole has revealed how he wants to secure the club for 2015 before handing it over to other consortium members if possible. He is now in semi-retirement and doesn’t want an ongoing full-time commitment but his passion for the sport – and Birmingham in particular – remains clear. The meeting of potential investors takes place at the stadium but any other interested parties can contact Mole at R&D Aggregates in Kidderminster on 01562 745683.

Good to see some positive news must admit I was starting to lose faith given how little theres been over recent weeks. It was stated when it all went t*ts up that Tony was going to call a meeting in August and I wondered what happened. I am really pleased that Tony has set the date with the potential investors, hopefully theres a few of them interested. Tony is a legend at Brum and theres nobody you would trust at running a speedway club more than him. I really think a consortium owned club is the way forward with people who have backed the Brummies so well in the past. The guy from BRC Roofing I hope is contacted, enjoy reading his posts on Brummies forum and would be a great person to have on board. Also would be great to have a place around the table for the supporters club who have done sterling work over the past few months, I think Tony did indicate something like that may happen. Early days I know but I hope we can rise from the Ashes and return to the sport, preferably at PL level next year.
