Zach or Jack Smith I would say.

Fantastic signing , I am really happy that he is a Brummie in 2016. He is without doubt one of the brightest prospects around, look at his performances as a guest last season and only 15 aswell. Surely Jack Smith aswell has got to be a dead cert as the other reserve partner, him and JPB would provide a strong reserve pairing. Smith I like, he can gate and like JPB made a positve impession at the back end of last season. Looking forward to 2016 all ready

It won't be a risk if it's a 3pter signing

A total and utter shambles last night, I could not believe what I was seeing. How on earth was the meeting allowed to take place on a track that wasn't fit to stage a speedway meeting due to the rain in the morning. I got there and by the start line there was a discussion between the management and captains of both teams plus the ref Craig Ackroyd. Why wasn't there a decision to blade the track and put the meeting back as surely the most important thing is rider safety. Ackroyd should hang his head in shame for a so called top class referee to allow that meeting to take place. We race 8 long winded heats which resulted in fallers in almost every heat, Max Clegg in heat 1 was just about hanging on his bike, it was that bad.So why wasn't it stopped and urgent repair work done straight away and not wait so long and till 8.50pm before deciding to blade it. Lets be honest if the tractor had not crashed into the fence which resulted in an interval, would it have even been bladed?. It annoys that we allow the riders to risk life and limp when the officials don't do their jobs properly. Such a sour end to what has been an enjoyable season watching National League racing

Graham Drury said in a radio interview last week he would be "very very surprised" if we went PL. Tony Mole more or less said we won't cos of the problems in that league with a few clubs in trouble.
-
So whats the point of an early AGM if they are not going to announce anything till the first week in November. If there's no offfical statement clubs cant get on with anything in case theres any last minute changes Does anyone know when the National League AGM is?, could be a few new teams in the league next year which is all good!

So with Ellis moving upto the Premier League and Adam Kirby taking a year out, who would Brummies fans like to see at Perry Barr next year. Zach Wajtknecht Tom Perry Sam Chapman Jack Smith Jack Parkinson Blackburn Zach has got to be first name on the team sheet for next year, Tom is a Cradley Asset but we dont know what is happening with the Heathens yet. Tom has been a great captain this year and is always box office to watch. I would give Chapman another go as I believe hes a rider that can still improve to become a solid heat leader, hes just been unlucky with injuries this year. Jack Smith has something to offer, he was scoring points regularly towards the end of the season. JPB may well be elsewhere but he has something about him imo and a nice riding style. It all depends on the points limit as to who the last two riders would be but another heat leader would be needed

Personal Match Of The Season 2015
Brummie Kev replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Birmingham vs Eastbourne in September, we won which more or less confirmed us as National League champions. Entertaining meeting, great battle between Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson Dean. Kent vs Brummies, spent alot of money getting down there and a fantastic performance. Nice to watch speedway in a top class stadium -
Heres my thoughts having watched NL racing this year Zach Wajtknecht- For me been the star of the NL, had a great first at the Brummies. Started off on a 3pt average at reserve and has tripled his average to become basically a number 1, he will be at Brum next year anyway. What I like most about Zach is he look so composed on the bike and hardly looks 'ugly' when you see him race. He also seems mature for his age when hes interviewed and with the backing of his family he has alot of things in his favour. I still think given the gulf between the PL and NL he might struggle for a fair bit but he has the talent and backing to go far in the sport imo. Bradley Wilson Dean- On his day he is the most entertaining rider in the National League ( Sorry James Shanes), hes better when he misses the gate cos you know that bike is getting flung in the dirt. Gives 110% and I saw that tonight even if his overall performance was poor. I do think he can do well in the PL despite the gap because on form he is quick. The worry for me would be consistency, can see him being good one match but poor in the next but hes entertaining which you pay your money to watch. Jack Parkinson-Blackburn - Ive seen him a few times guesting for the Brummies recently and Ive been very impressed. His gating needs work but he has a lovely riding style, not afraid to stick it in the dirt and pass people. Last week against Cradley, they had Aaron Mogridge at reserve who would be one of the best reserves in the league on a 5pt average and JPB beat him twice. Its hard to say now how far he will go as hes not raced a full season like Zach and BWD but if he rides full time NL next year (hopefully with Brummies) he could end up heatleader at least. Its not just them three, ive been impressed with others like Josh Bailey, George Wood, Ellis Perks, James Shanes to name a few

Birmingham Brummies 2015

I would Martin but would section of the forum would I start one in haha -
Well if you read the statement on the Brummies site they are still deciding what league to enter next year with the Cradley situation. God I hope its Premier League or National League rather than Elite League!! Good Luck to Kent, I went there for the first time when the Brummies were there in June. Really impressed with the stadium, its one of the best and you get a great view of the track. The track has been criticised before but tbh it was quite an enteraining meeting I saw with passing. Im not sure whether they get enough fans coming in to sustain EL racing. Good Luck anyway Kent.

Club statement regarding the Cradley Situation http://www.birminghambrummies.co/news.php?extend.2199 PL Next year? -
Im a little surprised to be honest that all 3 of them dont want to stick it out. I know that Gary Patchett isnt allowed in to Perry Barr due to an apparent dispute with the GRA but given the news about them in talks to Dudley Council only a month or so back, I am surprised with this. Surely the best outcome would have been to bring in someone with intention of day to day of the club to replace Patchett rarther than all three of them going and prospect of the club closing down. I reckon CVS has been quite hands on with Cradley this year esp home matches as hes always in the main reception when I get there. Obviously with Wolves having a bad year then he will want to spnd more time with Wolves next year but as I say if they can get someone in to run it and with Nigel helping when he can, CVS could just be a background partner next year. I have been to every Brummies and Cradley home match this year and for most of the season crowds have been similar for both. Although I felt as we got into August, Cradleys crowds dipped a bit and the Brummies have increased. The crowd for the last match Cradley had in August was probably the worst crowd ive seen at PB this year for either club. That said I dont think overall the crowds have been bad at all. All the best Heathens fans, last year was a nightmare not knowing what was happening to my club. I just hope this is resolved and someone comes forward as quickly as possible.

That page is meant to be a national league speedway fan page but all it is is mostly bitter Cradley fans having a go at Perry Barr, the track, our management, the food ( prob justified), our riders. Its pointess being part of that page.
-
Isnt Tyler Govier Cradley's number 8, if so he was injured in the Coventry match earlier in the day.
-
Wilson Dean is box office in the NL, as you say hes an out and out racer, the type of rider you ay money to watch week in, week out. A 5pt PL average might deter some clubs but I really hope a team signs him. As for Zach, I do think has great future when you consider the impact hes already made in his first season in the NL. I hope the Brummies move up next year and include Zach in the team as im sure another club would if we dont

Mildenhall Vs Birmingham 06.09.15
Brummie Kev replied to kitten2502's topic in National League Speedway
What a fantasttic achievement!!, this time last year we had no club to support and it was terrible not going to speedway and not knowing whether we would return. So to not only return but to put togethor a a good team from scratch ( no assets) and to win the National League a year later is just amazing I would like to thank Graham Drury as team manager but we must not forget the role Phil Morris played in the winter. It showed just how much this club meant to him given he was prepared to help the way he did. The riders delievered when it counted and sure there were some that havent had the season they wanted on a personal level but they played their part. When they go out on the track with the B on their chest, they earn my respect and they tried their best. Adam Ellis and skipper Tom Perry have been top class this season but I want to mention Zach. He started the season on a 3.00 average, had not ridden in a single NL match and look at him now. to be honest if he dont get rider of year in the NL I will be amazed. A great talent Thanks to the riders, fans of the other National League clubs, Ive enjoyed watching this level of racing. These young kids starting out give their all and they are a credit to the sport. Lastly theres one man that deserves thanks the most, he is Tony Mole. He came back and rescused us from the brink and I will forever be grateful. The man is a absolute legend! -

Birmingham Vs Eastbourne 2nd September (@ 7:30?)
Brummie Kev replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
That meeting had everything, absolutely brilliant! Some great racing at times, some points thrown away from both sides, a great duel between Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson Dean, some big crashes and a meeting won on the last heat. For me thats in my top 3 Brummies matches since 2007 when i followed the sport. Massive respect to both teams for the effort they put it, we had our slice of luck like Heat 8 when it was Spiller and Andrews were miles infront over Govier on a 5-1 then Spiller ploughs into the main straight fence. We had that heat when BWD missed the two minutes and had to come off 15m, then he came off third bend in the rerun when he probably would have caught a Brummie. We had a bit aswell like when Eliis came off miles in front for no reason, I thought at the time we would be made to pay for it but in the end we didnt. The duel between Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson Dean was great, nobody upto now imo is a match for Ellis in the NL. We saw BWD gate and get in front of Adam in Heat 1 but Adam passed in during the race but BWD got is revenge in heat 13 with a great gate and ride to win. However with so much on the meeting going into heat 15 BWD gated ahead of Ellis but Adam passed him back straight first lap to win it for the Brummies. Enjoyed that and I must add a Tom Perry special round the outside of Andrews and BWD in one move in heat 11. I kid you not I shut my eyes, as I thought for all the tea in china that Perry was going into the fence. A big result for us but we need to get something from Mildenhall on sunday. That was a fantastic advert for not only the NL but the sport, well done Eastbourne, your riders gave it their all tonight. -
Graham Drury tweeted that the crowd last night was bigger than the Elite League Grand Final against Poole in 2013. Would have been even more last night as well if forecast had been better.
-
Come on you Young Stars!!
-
I thought it was fantastic advert for the National League, a massive crowd despite the weather forecast, two sets of riders that really gave their all which inturn produced some great racing, despite a mid meeting deluge which affected track conditions for a time. Cradley deserved the win and it is just a small consolation but at least they didnt take all 4 points which could be pivitol come the end of the season. You would have thought they had won the league tonight given they were giving their Heat15 riders the bumps at the end, bit too early lads!!
