  1. If enough people contribute it may be enough to get through the future seasons and look for a piece of land also. If it closes that could be it forever as it will be tough and take time to find somewhere new (if that ever happened).
  2. People are mentioning postponing the inevitable etc, but if people want to continue to contribute over years and keep speedway in Newcastle alive I am all for it. Also regarding brough, yes the rent is high and we all want a new track, but for now until we find one if it’s Brough or nothing then it’s Brough every day of week for me. The racing isn’t the best by any means but can still see decent meeting, racing isn’t great at Berwick and also Wolves and Edinburgh tracks are similar to ours but you just have to get on with what you have until can find something better.
  3. Because we don’t race every week.. so the weeks we don’t race everyone would still be paying and money increasing. These are just ball park figures really until we know how many are serious about putting money in.
  4. All good ideas being mentioned.. this maybe also need to be posted on Facebook at some point when further forward and can be put forward to supporters club. Hopefully Rob would stay on board as he deserves another crack at it and with a bit of assistance from the fans hopefully we could stay open and have a decent season.
  5. This sounds like a good idea.. I couldn’t afford the other option but I think people would probably get involved this way and surely even 500-1000 people would pay a lesser amount per week/month to keep Newcastle speedway open. The go fund me page showed how much people were willing to help Newcastle speedway and think it’s a great idea if enough interested people. We have to try something as can’t let speedway die in Newcastle..
  6. It’s a tough one, as much as you want a sell out crowd for Granty and all the effort he has put in. We are always grateful of fans from other teams coming but if it is packed out from fans who haven’t been for 10-40 years or whatever.. that will be a joke! If they haven’t got a good reason of why they haven’t attended for a long number of years and then turn up for this one, what’s the point? People not coming through the turnstiles is the reason we are closing down
  7. When is the AGM normally? December / January?
  8. So “wheels in motion” other week and now it seems final.. but then 2 interested parties? Who knows what’s going on
  9. Skybet have left the prices up for live match as they think it starts at 8.30pm. They might void it if you win but worth a shot if a team is winning well.
  10. Hopefully he will give it one more season. He has just started up links with 2 football teams, he will have season ticket money next year, and hopefully more sponsors will come on board. I just hope with the early statement it does not hinder the attendances for last 3 matches as we really need the fans to turn out in force.
  11. Get the Euromillions on mate and work your magic with Rob.. I was hopeful he would give it one more year.
  12. Gutted.. Not Robs fault at all and mainly down to previous promotion, thanks George etc, and the amount of times I was told they were wonderful etc. I am not sure of the point of the end of season meeting, so we have a big meeting with old riders and everyone enjoys it with a big crowd… what’s the point???
  13. These people who actually get paid for these weather predictions are stealing a living… firstly yesterday 2 sites had rain all day, this morning because sun was out first thing it was going to be dry all day… and now because we have had a bit of rain.. one site says dry all day and another says rain 2-3. Poor Rob was clearing water off the track last night to try and get the match on, unbelievable effort from a promoter who cares so much about the club.. I can’t believe people are still against him at times. Fingers crossed it goes ahead
  14. Class performance from the lads… it’s a shame this was not the meeting in front of the massive crowd from last week. Decent track with some great passes especially from Roynon and Clegg who were awesome. A full team performance with Archie improving every week and James Wright unlucky losing his steel shoe in last ride. Onwards and Upwards!
  15. Brought back to the top incase anyone else wants to contribute.. thanks to everyone who already has
  16. The trouble is if 500 tickets were available free and no one turned up, how can we get 300 more through the door if they have to pay? Keep retweeting etc and forwarding Facebook posts and hopefully some will decide to go or return if they have stopped going. Hopefully the next 2 weekends bring in decentish away crowds which will help break even at least. Also anyone having a go at Granty after everything he has done is an idiot!!
  17. Let’s hope the fans turn out in force.. As someone mentioned above he mentions this meeting but what if get a fantastic crowd for this meeting and then a shocking crowd before the end of the season? We need a higher figure and for them to keep coming. Why not keep plugging the go fund me and people may keep contributing or open something where fans can contribute by paying say £5-100 a month or whatever they can afford? 500 people at even just £5 is £2500 a month and that would surely help massively. The go fund me showed fans are willing to help keep the speedway going and just thinking of other options to hopefully keep it alive. Maybe if big crowd against Glasgow at 6.30pm start is a decent crowd could try keeping it at that time til end of season as I know one or two people who can’t attend 2 out of 4 sundays as work until 5.
  18. How did Vaculik finish above Lambert in points scoring? is it because Lambert touched the tapes. I was just wondering as both finished last in semi and rules state; Likewise, the fourth-placed semi-final rider who scores highest in the heats will be ranked seventh, receiving 10 championship points, and the other fourth finisher will finish eighth and earn nine.
  19. I don’t see the problem.. yes the track was different but should Alfie Bowtell, Dan Thompson and Ashley Morris be getting paid 34 points absolutely not! Redcar are a decent side but we should not be losing by 20 points. One or two of our riders are off the boil and thank god for Howarth and Barker otherwise it would of been a lot more. Hopefully we should see an improvement on Sunday
  20. Can you do it before the meeting starts next time
  21. Both by looks of it funny thing is he actually cleaned his window and put the 2 mins straight on practically.
  22. Shambles of a meeting!! Problems with the electrics, then ref couldn’t see because of the sun!! Crashes and delays due to waiting for ambulance (obvs not Redcar’s fault). People walking out while awaiting for heat 10 which was ran after the curfew as they had obviously had enough, or was sick of hearing Roy talk rubbish in cheering on his new favourite team! Delay after delay and any new fans unfortunately will not return.
  23. Cracking win for the boys, well done to them all! Our team might not be as good as some other teams but you can never fault their effort. They are improving each week and a sterling performance from Steve was always going to help. Hopefully the stay away fans will return now we have proven we can win and will beat some teams at home over the course of the season. Bjarne being back at brough next week will also hopefully help get a few more back.
