Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August

I can’t believe some people trying to blame holder for the crash. I don’t like him one bit, even less hearing he tried to have a go at Emil but he defo wasn’t to blame. They have been the same for years and always used to abuse riders when I came with my team Newcastle. I was a neutral really today, although maybe just wanted slightly an Ipswich win but mainly cracking racing which we got. Shouting expletives and that Emil was suicidal when trying to win the match for his team was a disgrace. -

Great meeting which ended with the awful crash right where we were standing. Some Sheffield fans don’t change, shouting abuse at Emil, yes it was a minority but why anyone would think about doing that while lying on the track. Get well soon Emil!! Ipswich deserved to win but King was poor which cost them. -

Track looks in good nick and rain hasn’t affected it at all really. Keeps spitting on but nothing really and I am sure they were even putting a little bit of water down before. -

Constant light drizzle at the track at the minute. -
I hope Bachelor is thrown out of the club for his lack of effort and pulling wheelies and putting zero effort in. A disgrace to the brummies race jacket.

Anyone close to track with weather update? Pouring down (still) 5 miles away. -
It feels like a good few years. It’s nice to watch speedway but nothing can replace having your own team and following the diamonds.

BERWICK v OXFORD (Championship) Saturday 17th - 7pm
Gaz replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It looked as jorgensen was flying in the race he retired in passing both riders so not sure if was on 2nd bike after that as looked terribly slow. Henry Atkins match winner for Oxford, rode the inside brilliantly on bends 3 and 4 which you very rarely see at Berwick. -
Biggest loser in terms of biggest idiot then yes I agree. Credit for 1st season, no credit for 2nd season. Communication zero, and not willing to ask for help. The people who have lost the most in all this is us, the fans, not him!
-
I also think although allegedly there was only 350 for Leicester, even though we were getting hammered there was still 550-700 for other matches with Glasgow, Redcar and Berwick bringing quite a few down. The crowds this season didn’t seem any worse than previous seasons really.
-
I meant last season as in arranging a meeting to get people together on how to keep us open. This year I am not sure how we would inform everyone of a meeting taking place as obviously a lot of the fanbase won’t be on here, Twitter or Facebook.
-
I agree.. something like last season needs to happen but it was easier to do with official websites etc still running to inform people.
-
I meant like more in ideas of keeping us open. Getting a proper meeting together. Contacting businesses and previous sponsorship etc. Or people who were involved in last couple of years might of tried to bring people together or have some ideas.
-
I agree.. I was hoping maybe the Supporters Association would of tried to organise something, or at least put these ideas forward or any ideas they had. They could keep peoples money safe in their bank account to.
-
That’s why I think paying say £15-20 a month over a period of time 3 or 4 years more people might be more inclined to do it, rather than paying £1000 outright. £100 might work but even if got 1000 people to do it.. it would be a good start towards a new track but would still need more funds and to find somewhere.
-
Haha.. Hopefully the driver has arrived. THJ at the wheel?
-
If only someone hadn’t annoyed THJ!
-
Got to dream and have hope… Probably won’t happen but who knows further down the line. Teams like Redcar have shown it can be done.
-
If only we had 100 people/businesses or whoever who could contribute say £80 a month over 4 years. That’s 385k. If guaranteed we could find a track I think some people would including myself.
-
That would be good!!
-
This is what needs to happen really it’s just costs for new track etc and how many would contribute etc. We would need businesses, fans, maybe even ex riders to get involved. Its finding the track and that could be the problem.
