  1. Just seen that Jack Hargreaves blew an engine up at Scunny last night guesting for BV, and rode the remainder of the meeting on borrowed bikes, hope he can get something sorted at such short notice for Sunday. Weather forecast is edging towards dry for the afternoon so the Tigers should be the first NL team to complete its league fixtures tomorrow, so if they can preserve the unbeaten home record then a play off place will be secured. R/R when used for Mark Baseby scored well so hopefully the same will happen when used for Cameron, and also with no more fixtures planned until the KOC 2nd leg @ IOW, this should be the last match without him, with Chris Louis saying that the IOW fixture was the target for Camerons comeback. Looking forward to seeing Todd Kurtz, last time I saw him at West Row he was a class above anything else there that day, shame we wont be seeing Todd and Cameron going head to head, we could have had a Bronze kangaroo for the highest scorer ! Will the parade truck be back from its 2 week holiday ?, it does look so much more proffesional than riders walking out at the start or doing a victory lap of honour 2 or 3 up on a bike.
  2. Not normally in the habit of commenting on matches that I didnt attend, but just to wish John Oliver all the best, and is which team won, or which team did'nt use a T/R really important compared to his injuries ? I think not. Some people on here remind of the Houses of Parliment with thier trying to score points of each other all the time. (Edited for spelling mistakes !)
  3. Very impressed as usual with Nick Simmons performance around Mildenhall, he must be one of the most consistent visiting riders over the years, Danny Warwick gave him good backing, but unfortunately two riders cant do it by themselves and a 20 point victory was always on the cards although at heat 7 and only 4 points ahead I did begin to wonder ! Heat 5 was a cracker with Simmons, Blackbird and Jacobs all having the lead at some point and with almost a dead heat on the line, great advert for NL speedway. Mick Bates was certainly on the ball yesterday with two minute warnings coming on very quickly to get the meeting through before any rain arrived, ironic that heat 15 and the second halves were run in bright sunshine, but better to get it over as at one point those clouds looked very heavy indeed.
  4. Excellent win last night with all riders getting a paid win, could'nt understand what was going on with those two riders last week, obviously both good riders and both apparently struggling around West Row, but last night the top two men, funny ol game eh saint ! Hopefully that should be enough to make the play offs, and good to avoid the rain again, some teams are going to strugle to complete there fixtures I think, but with only 2 to ride and both planned for the next 7 days Mildenhall should get theres in without a problem.
  5. Or the powers that be could just do the sensible thing and allow anyone good enough to come into the league, so the paying public could see the best riders available, thereby making racing more entertaining, and increasing crowd sizes, but no doubt the old farts will still worry more about where the riders were born. Oh, good to see Jack Hargreaves and Jamie Pickard amongst the points last night, hopefully bodes well for Sunday at West Row.
  6. Once upon a time I would have questioned why it would be allowed, but I've given up on speedway rules, they, the real world, and common sense just dont go together do they. But good luck to Jamie anyway.
  7. Not to suprised at that, I wondered when I saw a cosy chat between Chris Louis and Robert going on at the pit gate during the interval at last weeks meeting.
  8. Our viewing points are somewhat similar and I thought the same as you, in fact if Halsey had been near Nielson I would assume that Halsey would also have come to grief. That said, it was an horrific accident and all our thoughts were with him as he lay motionless on the track, good luck to him in his recovery. As for the rest of the meeting, well great performances by some you thought might struggle and some not so good by riders you expected to shine, but thats why I prefer NL racing, more passing, more unexpected perfomances/results than in the other leagues. The one other suprise to me was the lack of visiting support, judging by the amount of scunny supporters who post on here I really was expecting more noise when Kevin asked who was supporting the saints, so to get yet another good crowd with little or no away support was excellent. Only other winge from me is why do referees deem unsatisfactory starts when the rider who gets warned has got to the first bend in 3rd or 4th place ????????, it happened twice yesterday, fine if he's got an advantage then pull it back (although to be honest I'd winge at that as well as I think providing you dont hit the tapes then good luck to you if you get a flyer).
  9. I think i,ve pulled you up on this before, I didnt lose anything, I wont need to worry about any team, thats Mildenhall Speedway's problem, not mine, I go to speedway pay my tenner and enjoy all 14 riders, have my sausage and chips and then go home, then I go to work in the morning. I am so pleased it doesnt worry you, as you do seem to have a major problem with young Cameron even when he's injured you still seem to have to mention him in threads even when your team is'nt even riding. But as an impartial observer, Scunny to me are the better all round team than Stoke, judging by the last two meetings at West Row. The fact niether guest performed today is strange as between them they had averaged about 11 on their previous appearances at Mildenhall this season. Next time Stoke are down at West Row pop over and say hello, I would be so interested to meet you. Sadly I do'nt do away meetings otherwise I'd offer to meet you at Loomer Road.
  10. lets stick to facts, result 47 -43,so I fail to see how it backfired ? no doubt you will explain, and why should it worry you ? I thought you'd be more concerned that stoke f.c. had to have some dubious refereeing decisions to get them a point at fortress carrow road today, no doubt malcolm had split loyalty watching that one.
  11. Very very glad to see what Michael Lee is saying about not rushing Cameron back, he is only 15 and this is only the 3rd tier of British Speedway, its not important in the greater scheme of things and we all know he's bound for bigger and better things than this, so let him get healed properly even if it means he doesnt ride again this season, it seems as though Adam Roynon tried to come back to soon for Dudley and I wouldnt want to see this happen to Cameron. Whoever rides for the tigers this week I can see it being a good exciting tight meeting, and personally thats all I want from a speedway meeting, no dramas about who was born where or anything else like that, which seems to upset so many others,no real concern about who wins, although obviously I will be cheering on the West Row lads, just the best value I can get for my tenner please gentlemen !, oh and a good supply of sausage and chips please. There is part of me thats hoping Jerran Hart might be eligible, not for any other reason than to see aljacks response !
  12. Mildenhall official site quoting Michael Lee as saying " The paramedics were confident that his wrist isn't broken, just badly bruised tissue and ligaments. We'll have a better idea in the next day or two if he will be fit to face Scunthorpe on Sunday."
  13. After the weekend when he's a fully fledged No 1, I can see him being in great demand when other clubs No 1, s are unavailable, and now in my best Kevin Keegan impersonation ! " I'd love it, Id really love it if Cam guested for certain teams " would'nt it be interesting to see if the detractors changed there tune then ?
  14. Thanks you've written my comments for me ! Everything I was going to put you have already said, so the only thing I can add, is that Simon Lambert has now joined Adam Roynon as the best visiting rider to West Row this season, and someone who should be getting more mentions but isnt, is track man Bob Ellis, the track has produced so many different lines this season, it really was a delight to see Lambert riding those wide lines yesterday almost Topinkarish !
  15. Bloody hell did'nt expect that result !, obviously young Mr Heeps will deservedly grab the headlines but looks as if the skipper Hargreaves had a good night and the others grabbing important points, can only assume Danny H is still feeling a bit tender after his crash against Hackney. Lewis Blackbird went from res to No1 can see Cameron doing the same thing at this rate.
  16. Another good crowd, another good home win, onwards and upwards. Lewis Blackbirds first heat win by almost half a lap I think set the tone for the afternoon from the Mildenhall camp, certainly the Hawks missed Barrie Evans the R/R only producing 2 points. Hope Dan Halsey is feeling a bit less sore today and will be back in the saddle soon. Unfortunately another 3 weeks before the next home meeting, by which time I guess there will be yet another new riding order with new averages out by then, however I think the team is pretty solid 1 - 7 around West Row. Another thing Mildenhall have got right this season over previous years is the presentation, yesterday the meeting started bang on time and ran smoothly despite the 72 second, third re run of heat 9. With much better PA quality this year and Kevin Longs proffesionalism on the mic it makes it much easier on the ear and fills in those otherwise quieter moments of grading or fence repairs with rider interviews etc.
  17. Looking forward to this, speedway after 4 weeks without, not good. And it looks as if the weather is going to stay dry if not blisteringly hot, so lets all get down to West Row and enjoy the fare on offer. Hopefully the rest won't leave the Tigers to rusty, and they can make it a hat trick of wins against the Hawks.
  18. Oh Poo ! I was looking forward to this, a 3 week break was bad enough for me, but for the riders it must be incredibly frustrating not getting regular meetings, and I hope the good crowds we have had this season don't start finding other things to do on a Sunday afternoon, it's all to easy to get out of the habit of going. Having said all that, thanks for the early call off at least it means no wasted journeys and we can plan other things to do. Lets hope the good ol British summer gets its finger out some time soon.
  19. Providing we dont get too much rain tomorrow then todays soaking should help make for a good track. Looking forward to some more speedway after the 3 week break, hopefully a good crowd again and it will be interesting to see how the new look 1 - 7 perform at West Row.
  20. Thanks Baldyman ,I bow to your superior knowledge there !, I assumed when the Panthers e mail said that he was making his debut then it reffered to his EL debut, but obviously it meant his Panthers debut, anyway he scored 2 so well done him.
  21. Slightly off topic but the lad has been mentioned on this thread, it's good to see one of our old boys making his EL debut for peterborough tonight, good luck to Mr Poole.
  22. Great to see Mark scoring so well today, Cameron obviously is as good as we were told, so looking forward to next home fixture at West Row. Thanks for the updates whilst I was sunbathing in the back garden.
  23. I dont care this is a Mildenhall thread not an Ipswich one so your opinion is not relevant to the NL asection.
  24. Please take your anti Jerran Hart feelings back to the Ipswich thread where you are so loved !, Please feel free to give opinions on Mildenhall on Mildenhall threads.
  25. It was a bit like speedway in the greek islands yesterday, had to find shade otherwise I was in danger of passing out, so firstly well done to all riders on an interesting track at times but also in those tempratures it cant have been easy, well maybe thats why the aussie lads did well they are used to racing in such tempratures. Robert Branford certainly looks a good prospect and rode excellently for Buxton I certainly cant recall a 15pt max by a visiting rider before. The value of having such a good reserve pairing was shown yesterday after losing Jack Hargreaves in Heat 1 his next 3 rides still scored 5 thanks to Joe Jacobs and Cameron Heeps, good to see Jack apparently ok later on as originally it looked rather nasty with the bike hitting him after he fell. Mark Baseby,s return to racing was a bit painfull hitting the ground more than once, but he got it together in the all important heat 13 and will only improve with more racing, but coming back as a heat leader with no racing this season is a big ask. Daniel Halsey is a rider who is impressing more each week scoring 10 yesterday. Much was said before Cameron turned a racing wheel in this country, well the way he went round the outside of Ben Taylor to win heat 11 showed the boy has got a big future in this sport, and from his interviews he sounds a very sensible mature lad for 15. The promotion must be well pleased with the atendances this season, no doubt there were a few extra there yesterday to have a look at a certain aussie, but they probably went home just as impressed his fellow countryman.
