Oxford v Poole 21/6/23 Championship.
ruckerroo replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxfords top 3 murdered pooles top 3 really , even ht13 nicholls bust his balls to pass Worrall when the track had gone. Kerr was v impressive and Atkins rode very well. For Poole , tho they will go close this yr for sure but the 2 weak links were there for all to see last night. Track was excellent first 7 races then slickened right off , great attendance too -

A poorly put together side , simple as that . -
Everythings a gamble tbf. Too an extent you are gambling about getting to the final when 3,500 at 20 sovs a pop for the home leg a kops a right lump and prob gets your investment in the season back with 15 or 20 on top. Some are prepared to gamble more than others i spose. Some teams, not in this league have such good support that they can pay good money year in year out for a solid side, others struggle. The league below is a prime example of this.

Good luck to stewart, hard to make a silk purse out of a sows ear tho

Once you make a signing like morley , a trapper who is dreadful away from home as a strengthening move it just shows what a bad job youve made of team building in the first place . I like garry may as hes a straight talker essentially but they cocked it right up. The one person last yr who improved a bundle esp at plymouth was bowtell, way better than morley and n2 all last yr , who could get a few away, they let him go too incorporate a rider, starke who looked completely shot . Everybody hates poole but they get it right 9 yrs out of 10 team building.

That birmingham consortium must have zillions, theyve done untold last yr and more of the same this.
