Does UK speedway need a new televised product?
ruckerroo replied to truthsayer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Speedway is literally in the same boat as the dogs, prostituting itself for tv money with zero thought for its supporters. On a previous thread i posted about no saturday track bar berwick, theres an enormous gap in the south /midlands for any track to grasp the nettle, hopefully in 2024. TV deals are all well and good but its to the detriment of the sport as a whole . The best supported club in the land are safely cocooned in the championship racing on the night that suits them . -
has to be monetary, mike, didnt they infer about 5 weeks ago that money was tight ?

i reckon 99% of speedway enthusiasts are team sport orientated, its a sign of the times with what these companys are doing, motivated by money and balance sheets and seemingly years of tradition mean zero . Its a dreadful state of affairs really. The thing that really pisses on my chips as a casual fan is there is no regular saturday speedway club in the uk bar berwick. The day of the week where anybody can go with the family and be under no pressure time wise . Lets hope a rye house or eastbourne miracle takes place close season

They might have had to listen to arthur and lbw for a few minutes, 30 min in the sick bay would be far better than that . -
