  1. The Reds have been enjoying bumper crowds of late and are definitely on the crest of a wave following their promotion last season when they averaged nearly 800 a game for 8th Tier football. The recent pre-season friendly against Carlisle United attracted over 1500 fans in atrocious weather and I would expect their opening 23/24 NPL fixture will see a 1,000 plus crowd. With Comets choosing to run at the traditional 3pm kick off time for the Reds I think they will see a noticeable drop in their attendance. They will have the same problem when they go head to head with the Reds next Saturday fixture on August 26th.
  2. There was a torrential downpour around 12.30 pm which last about 20 minutes - any remedial work they had managed to do would have been washed away then. The rainfall then was far worse than the later shower. Should have called it off at that point and maybe re-scheduled as 2015 season opener. With the way the weather has been over the last 36 hours even if they had somehow got the meeting on the crowd number would be low and Rusty deserves a good turnout.....
  3. MEETING OFF = Rain lashing it down again. In all honesty this was never going to be on :-0
  4. Weather atrocious - heavy driving rain and strong winds...........been like this for a couple of hours
  5. At least we are in for some nicer weather :-o !! http://travel.aol.co.uk/2012/09/30/uk-weather-forecaste-snow-ice-floods-britain-october-autumn/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cuk%7Cdl9%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D129736
  6. Do any of our Kiwi members know the date of the 2013 NZ GP? If indeed there is going to be one :-o
  7. Cloudy and overcast as I write. I work opposite the track! Floodlights are on already, must be 'preparing' the track Light rain forecast for later this afternoon.... :-0
  8. I am looking for 2012 Swedish League on DVD, can anyone help please? I don't have access to Premier Sports(get Skysports 1 & 2/ESPN via Freeview subscription). If anyone has any coverage on disc and would be willing to make me a copy I would be happy to re-imburse your costs. Thanks in advance
  9. Does anyone know what became of the proposed plans to revive speedway across the Irish Sea? Think a guy who was involved with Shelbourne speedway in the early 1970s was behind it(Trevor Redmond?)and he'd found a site in Dublin where he was seeking planning permission...there was also talk of a possible track in Limerick??
  10. You should also check out Northside Speedway in Workington run by ex-Comet Craig Branney. Brilliant set up and would be ideal for your son even though bit of a trek for you! See: http://www.nstt.moonfruit.com/#
  11. Don't suppose anyone has any 2011 Swedish Lg meetings on DVD and would be willing to sell me a few copies of your discs?? I don't have access to Premier Sports Thanks in advance!!
  12. This was re-staged Round 1 which was originally rained off and was raced @ PORI
  13. Finland seemed to have no trouble witht he silencers when they won the qualifying round, hopefully that will give them an advantage at Kings Lynn! Any news yet on a confirmed line up for the leijonat??
  14. Anyone know what became of it, I assume there must have been some Portugese riders at some time??!
