American Touring Team Final Schedule
speedibee replied to SteveEvans's topic in National League Speedway
It is either a tribute to the organising and marketing skills of Steve Evans , or an indicator of the short sightedness of the British promoters. That these USA touring teams manage to arrange so many fixtures over the course of a short tour, while the management of team viking (on paper a far superior product ) find it difficult to arrange more than a few dates with long gaps in between . yet from their few fixtures 3 riders have been signed to british clubs and a lot more have shown the potential and willingness to do so -
Ben Barker V Tai Woffinden
speedibee replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Or that wuffy actually contributes something to his teams victories -
Ok so someone tell us who won the first race of 1970 and 71 1980 1nd 81 and we can make up our own minds which was the first race of each century
-
Tai chose to ride for england at the time because Australia were so strong that he would have had no chance of a place in their squad . England was a different story though!!! what do you think would happen If Wayne Rooney were to wear a french shirt after Engalnd had been eliminated from the world cup , I suppose the football supporters would all say well they're his mates so that alright ,

At least he did'nt wear an aussie shirt today, unlike someone else who showed where his real allegiance lies . -
Well done the Poles , It made my day watching the Aussies lose after they tried so hard to stop the meeting being finished .

Oh no worries then . team gb can take the WTC seriously in another few years when lewis bridger .ed kennet and tai woff have a bit more experience and better equipment ,until then we should just look at WTC as a sort of training scheme to bring the kids on , we can just make up the numbers until they look like they can cut the mustard , by then bomber ,rico . nicholls will be ready for retirement and we can blood some more kids for the future , so we will be ready for an all out assault on the WTC in around 2030 -

Why do you think putting kids out against far superior oppostion is a good thing ? It certainly did Lewis Bridger no good at all , He was absolutely demoralised by the fact that he was so far off the pace and despite the "old boys" Rico and Bomber trying to raise his spirits spent most of the meeting with a face as long as a wet weekend . This is what you think is a good thing is it ? . The kids don't have good enough equipment, racecraft , backup or experience and losing races at world level will not put that right , kids don't become Crump Or Adams overnight and need to learn their craft at club level , and when they are beating the best in the world on a regular basis that's when they should be part of team GB . -

what is blatantly obvious about this post is that it is written by someone who knows they are always right, and will only listen to views that do not conflict their own . -

How does the future look better for team GB , are all the other teams going to slow down so that Kennet , King and woffinden can keep up , if Sweden and Denmark had full strength teams we would have been last , and unless they both decide to "blood some youngsters " we will have no chance next year or the year after. maybe the Aussies will stand crumpie and adams down next year and let Shelby Rutherford and darcy ward take over . I cant see boycie doing that somehow -

I was talking to the lads from Team Viking yesterday , and they said almost all the tracks in Denmark are really slick so maybe Ole does'nt know any better -

speedibee replied to Bellers101's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
maybe the excellent racetrack was a case of more by luck than judgement ? throughout the day there were some heavy showers in the petereborough area ,was it just luck that they fell at the right time ? peterborough usually has a fairly good track anyway and with the right amount of water at the right time could produce a race track any night . or maybe buster has found the elusive magic formula ? -
Swc Event 2, Peterborough 13.7.
speedibee replied to tomazpozrl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Good idea for the parade , When the next track is trying for planning permission ,and is struggling with peoples perception that speedway supporters are hells angels we can show them some video from SWC to prove to them that spedway really is a family sport, -
Millenium Stadium Or Wembley Stadium ?

Millenium Stadium Or Wembley Stadium ?
speedibee replied to zonkers's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If you got on the jubilee line and went into london ,the speedway crowd would disperse and the atmosphere created by all the pubs being full of speedway fans would be lost . some people go to cardiff for that atmosphere as much as the speedway and it cannot be found anywhere else .certainly not in the wastelands of north london -
I have been a speedway mechanic for my two nephews 1983 - 1992 , and my son 1995 to present day . In all those years and all the speedway meetings I have been involved with, I have never seen a chain tighten itself through doing a practise start . I don't care whether you think my word is reliable or not because i don.t care what you think at all .
-
what sort of speedway bike have you been working on ? (never been within 10 feet of one is my guess) I've never seen one make the wheel slip back in fact it's the exact opposite the wheel pulls forward under the load from the chain and the chain slackens . the wheeel slipping backwards is more than unlikely to happen it does not happen IN 100% of cases . you're the one spouting nonsense here . try posting on a thread you Know something about .
-
Sometimes the bike is wheeled out without being started . then comes the chain performance . if you look closely at a replay most times no adjustments take place . the mechanic just undoes the spindle nut and does it back up , If it's keeping the sponsors happy and maybe attracting new ones all the better
-
Damn clever these yanks . I never thought of that . Surprised gollob has'nt tried it as he tries to get as much exposure as possible for his sponsors.

speedibee replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cousin B he is related to malcolm hollo and after the handbags on the track he barged into scott nichools as Scott walked down the tunnel back to his pit did you watch it on Justintv ? -
Why does Greg Hancocks mechanic come out onto the track to adjust his chain before every GP heat he is in ?. surely his chain does not need adjusting after riding fifty feet from his pit space

Alcohol At Cardiff
speedibee replied to loyal royal's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes I agree it was daft to say that but it was spur of the moment stuff and I just saw red . I don't object to people supporting their favourite riders as a rule . but i don't see the need to deliberately wind up the people who are supporting the home riders . anyway I now have a 25% warning for my outburst so that should please Snyper . -
