I called at the Welland track last December & the owner was there. I spoke to him briefly & he said that they held various bike events there in the summer but speedway was virtually none existent. It looked a great little setup although the safety fence was made of plastic bottles. The owner was still in touch with Kyle Legault who i remember seeing flying around Stoke scoring an 18 point maximum.

Bewley has been amazing in just his 2nd year riding speedway, Bickley looks a great talent as does Connor Mountain. Leon Flint is a highly rated youngster about to hit the NL in 2018. One rider I’d never heard of who’s really impressed me is Drew Kemp, I think he has a bright future from what I’ve seen.

Bewley vs Ayres in heats 13 & 15 were breathtaking. It's unbelievable that a 17 year old in only his 2nd season of speedway has so much talent. I haven't seen a kid that age ride like that since Woffy or Ward.

Dave Norris was my favourite who has a good sense of humour Screeny would be great too & doesn't mind speaking his mind.Nicholls is dull, Natalie is a breath of fresh air & is someone who knows her speedway.

I know a few who'll be glad to hear he's gone me included. Bloody awful.

I used to go to Stoke a lot until a few years ago when the track went dog rough. I love the old school charm of the place. The leaning lamp post of Loomer in the pits, the flashing floodlights, the air fence going down during 15 heats of speedway over 3 hours. Cars parked on the grass who then drove off during heat 15 so the riders could see the red tail lights & then slow down. What isn't there to love about the place. I always find it strange that the place gets broken into & things stolen. Someone once said that vandals broke in & caused £250 of improvements.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone but didn't the BSPA say that riders were only going to be allowed to double up/down for 2 seasons about 3 years ago?

& that's just for 1 person. Take the family of 4 & you're talking big bucks for a watered down product from what I grew up with. I almost took the other half & one the kids on Friday but it got rained off. I ended having to buy her a Karcher window vax instead which will keep her happier than watching a speedway meeting.

I'd heard he was retiring. He was in one of the best races I've ever seen in a battle with Complin & Bunyan. Shame he never made it to the top as he was a great prospect.
