  1. I went in 2012 It hammered down with Rain for about an hour before. The roof covered most of the track and they put actual covers on the parts exposed to the elements. The Meeting went ahead and was an absolute belter. Keep my fingers crossed for you that you get to see a good un
  2. Thats right its god awful. Thats why it attracts by far the biggest attendance of any UK Speedway even year after year.
  3. utter Garbage? Wasnt the best but also wasnt dreadful. Plenty of overtaking for minor places, few good scraps for first. Wasnt a classic but Garbage is a bit over the top no?
  4. Why is everyone assuming Lambert just decided not to turn up? Could well be legitimate travel problems
  5. Yes some very good racing. The track is decent, rarely seen a bad meeting there. Plus its only an hour from Zagreb, a beautiful stadium, the best Speedway stadium I've been to outside Torun. The Pavlic family dont mess about when it comes to organization either
  6. Get Gorican and Manchester in there Pleeeeeeeeeeease
  7. He's still very keen so I dont think it will be any surprise at all to see him back next season if given a wild card. He finished 5th last year after a bad injury and little to no pre season Was World Champion very recently. I think it would be A. very harsh not to give him at least one last shot & B. silly to just assume he wouldn't be a contender anyway. People here are forever predicting who's going to do what next season but there are often a lot of surprises, No one woulda have predicted Nicki the first year he won it, Greg in 2010, Tai in 2013. Same as everyone assumed Holder and Lindback would be top 3 in 2013 after the way they rode in 2012. Many Thought Doyle would walk it last year... The list goes on. You just dont know.
  8. I have to agree. The Challenge should be at the end of the season tho. And there should NOT be a local wildcard. totally unfair
  9. They qualified fair and square - however this I very much agree with.
  10. 9 points from 4 rides including 2 race wins, he was doing ok.
  11. Understood and I also agree with him on that as you will see from my previous posts. But PA was probably the best rider on the night in the challenge and if he (or anyone else) had qualified fair and square you can’t take that away from them. I think I just felt so sorry for the guy after he was a relatively easy ride away from qualifying and his bike packed up
  12. He’s great is Bomber, watching him win at Cardiff was possibly the most enjoyment ever had at a sporting event. However seeing him last night the length of the straight behind the others was very sad. I hope he concentrates on making some money and enjoying his racing going forward
  13. Poor Pontus. He certainly would have got 1 point as Harris was in the race. The form he was on he had every chance of winning it and the meeting. Sport can be so cruel sometimes. speaking of Harris why are the Brits so far behind getting the correct set up at every big meeting?
  14. That’s what I couldn’t figure out. If Vaculik NKI and Zagar all crept in top 8 (and now they know they are certain next year will ride with more confidence) then there were 3 riders on 9 points. Surely they shoulda had a run off too?
  15. This is all true. Simple fact is for all of the arguments on here about who should qualify/get wild cards, you never know how how anyone will be from season to season. Riders form can dip or improve dramatically. However For the most part there are 15 bloody good riders every year. Occasionally there’s a couple of obvious ones missing but that’s the nature of sport
  16. I was very uninspired when those 2 qualified last night. And equally having never seen him ride before I was devastated fo poor Aspgren when he packed up in his last heat. however although you make a point about Zagar and NKI not being top 10, it’s not like they are a Harris (no disrespect to a rider I’ve always enjoyed watching) who will come 16th in pretty much every GP. They will be competitive and get heat wins in pretty much every GP and make a good amount of semi finals and finals. So they do make the GPs competitive. And more importantly, like it or not they qualified by right
  17. What I struggle to understand is why people complain about the current format, qualifying system etc. Because quite simply if it comes to 4 riders on a track accumulating points the best will always be at the top. There’s been many different scoring systems in the GPs since 1995 and to my knowledge it’s yet to make someone who wasn’t the best riders be at the top of the score charts come the end of the season. As for the qualifying I’m not sure how anyone can complain. Everyone is given a equal opportunity to qualify. Sometimes it throws a few surprises. Last night the top 4 were no real shock but that is sport and whether you like them or not they are the riders who earned it by right. The last 2 GPS have been two of the best there’s ever been so the personnel is fine. The main issue right now is staging GPs in venues worthy of such a competition.
  18. Made the trip to Gorican. Superb stadium, the best speedway specific stadium Ive been to outside of Torun or Wroclaw. The presentation was absolutely great it really is a very nice set up. Took us just shy of an hour to get back to Zagreb after the meeting. I’d much rather see GPs held there than some of the current venues. Not that I want him in the GPs but have to feel tremendously sorry for Smolenski. Woulda been on at least 10 if it wasn’t for the flag mans error. Also was absolutely choked for poor Pontus Aspgren. Had his easiest ride of the night and was set to win the meeting and an engine failure put paid to that. sport can be very cruel.
