  1. IF all of the teams are represented as shown above then it should be a good meeting. However I fully expect at least a few riders to drop out.
  2. The New stadium in Torun, anybody have a rough idea of much it cost to construct?
  3. I know the people that dont like Scott will never listen to any arguments for him, but I dont see as he's done anything wrong with what he has said. He's quite right in beliving that he deserved at least a phone call from the team Manager. He isnt complaing that he was left out of the team, just that the same man who a few months ago made him team captain, didnt even call to say 'sorry mate Im going to stick with the young boys...' Lee Richardson said in his interviews in Poland and at Lakeside that Scott would be back in the team one day soon. So I doubt that any of the other riders have a problem with him. Rob Lyon dropped the ball and should have had Scott in the team, pure and simple. Although in his defence, many on here, including myself, wanted Eddie & TAI dropped after P'boro, so he wasnt completly wrong...
  4. Agree, Rico was superb all week and his final interview topped it off. Hats off to the man.
  5. So Team GB galliant in defeat again... Im very proud of the boys tonight but I wish we could just fluke it once! Looking back at the whole week I think Rob Lyon was shrewd in how he went about it all. He can get away with not qualifying for the final as people will admire him for putting the young boys in the team, personally I think he was worried about getting slated if he did put Scotty in the team and they didnt qualify. He also looked like he didnt have a clue as to what was going on when there was the gate position mix up (heat 22?) which was a little worrying. With regards to team selection I think he should have put Scott in. He certainly would have been good for 5/6 points which would have seen us through. I dont buy all this team spirit wouldnt been have good talk. You look at any meeting where GB have done well such as Coventry year before last, Reading 06 etc Scot and the boys always said the team spirit was good. Its what the riders will obviously say in an interview anyway plus when things are going well, as it was for 23 heats tonight, its easy to have good team spirit. Im proud of what the lads have achieved this week, but I believe team selection has stopped us being in the World Cup final.
  6. Turned his back on British Speedway? After riding every season since '94, he made a decision that at the time he thought was right, as did a few others. He realised it was a mistake and came back. Have you never made a bad decision in your lifetime? Did you hold against Hans Nielsen, Sam Ermolenko, PK, Nikki, Crumpy and many others when they opted out of British Speedway? Loads of riders, (including Crump, Niki, Gollob I could go on) have temper tantrums so why you bring that up I dont know. And how you can say he was remotely in the wrong for the way he rode Emil into the fence is beyond me. I will agree that it seemed bad form that he wasnt in the pits with the boys last night, but we dont know the reasons for it..
  7. Bit harsh you dont know what the reasons are for him not being there.
  8. I think Rico & Scott should come in for Tai & Eddie. Im almost certain Scott wont ride in Poland but I think he should. Tai is an excellent prospect but he is not exactly ripping up the Elite league and he looked a wee bit out of his depth last night. It was a fantastic meeting and I was very proud of team GB, but the reality is we were 20 points behind the winners and need to strengthen. I can understand we are building for the future, but we should still at least try and do everything we can to qualify for the final. Looking at the weaknesses Sweden & the Danes have now, we are in with a shot. Rico is obviously a done deal from what he said in his interview last night, Scott I doubt, but after his best GP of the season and a few good meetings for Ippo, he should be ridding on Thusrday IMO.
  9. Well it is good that you can fall out of the Millenium Satdium & straight into a bar. But with the Jublee Line you can get into the centre of London pretty quickly so its not so bad. I love Cardiff, been every year & will continue to do so. It needs to sort the sound system out & the big screen too but on the whole its still fantstic. Can't say I'd be overly disappointed if there was a GP at Wembley though...
  10. I don't think it was wise to leave out Scott or Rico, I would always pick the strongest team as well as giving the boys a time to bond. However I can see why it has been done as doesnt look like we're gonna go straight through to the final. I very much hope that those 2 are in the pits with the boys tho, helping out encouraging etc. And that they are involved in Poland. I think the race off (assuming we get there) and who he picks etc, will be a truer refelction of Rob Lyon's mangerial skill.
  11. 2 tickets for sale, M7, Row 14, ' Start-Finish ' Middle Tier, best tickets outside VIP... Were £80 show me an offer you will probably get them as time is running out. Kind regards, Tex

  13. Doesnt matter who's anthem is it when you are on the podium you take your hat off. Thats a given in any sporting event.
  14. I know he's not everyones cup of tea, but I think it's a little harsh people saying Nikki should be punished for his reaction. You see a lot worse than that watching football on the TV...
  15. Okguys, you're friend in the far East needs a link for tonights GP please.
  16. The form riders come July should be picked for the tournament. I would also think that if he is doing well, Danny King should well be in contention for the meeting at P'boro with his track knowledge. Fingers crossed Lewis will continue his current form, Tai will get on top form & Scotty and Bomber will start to make some strides in the GP (wishful thinking I know!)
  17. Im in Tokyo. Close to tears. Please someone send me a live link. Domo, origato, gozimas! (Thank you very much)
  18. 2001: Finished in top 6 of GP challenge and qualified for 2002 GP 2002: Failed, but seeded into following year's competition 2003: Qualified for 2004 series 2004: Failed, but seeded into following year's competition - Missed 2 GP's through injury. 2005: Failed, but seeded into following year's competition - Finished 9th. 2006: Failed, but seeded into following year's competition - Missed a GP thru injury, finished only 8 points off qualifying. 2007: Qualified for 2008 series after knocking off Chris Harris in run-off - Subject of debate. And 1 race doesnt decide a season. 2008: Failed, but seeded into following year's competition - Finished 9th 3 points off qualifying. Now I know you can always make exscuses, but just trying to illustrate that it's not quite as black & white as you tried to make out.
  19. I just hope he doesnt start off every GP with a 1 or 0 in his first ride like he did last few years. Thats one thing that really annoys me, British riders, whether it be individual or team events, always seem to not be able to 'get the right set up' from the start. The Scandi's, Aussies & (when they were riding high) the yanks all seemed to be able to do it.
